The Long Play Lounge reviews
13My first time here, a random pick as I'm not local. Happy with the choice though, good drinks at reasonable prices. Very small inside but tables outside make up for it. No food which was the only downside.
The most practical application of a restaurant I have ever seen. The best services iv received in Austin.
Great drinks, great music, enjoyable atmosphere and friendly service, the banana Belafonte is DELICIOUS. Definitely get that drink. Worth it.
Fantastic spot for a nice drink and a casual but elevated hang. They have a drink for everyone, cheap beers, a couple craft options, good cocktails and some solid wine selections. It's small inside, but cute and welcoming. Picnic tables outside under a beautiful tree with string lights complete the ambiance. We love stopping in for a nightcap.
The reason you go to a bar is for the atmosphere. Long Play has it in spades. The outside is set up with a handful of picnic tables all spaced out, so you aren't talking over the people next to you. There's a watering station for your pups if you want to bring them, and when the wind hits just right, there is the faintest smell of Fabuloso in the air. Inside is even better. It's lit for anonymity unless you are behind the bar. There's a full time dj spinning literally everything. Literally. The drinks are great too. They have over a dozen signature cocktails and a special or two to boot. If you're looking for a hole in the wall with tasty drinks Long Play is one of the best.
We’ve lived across from this place for three years and just discovered it. It’s very “Austin. ” And given how much Austin, has changed in the recent, this place is perfect and I hope
It never changes.
This is one of our neighborhood bars. When I want chill, this is where I go. I love the quality of the drinks and variety as well. If you want a froufrou drink, they got it. If you want beer & a shot, they got it. I’m not a fan of the music they play but honestly I don’t care! The drinks and vibe are what I come for!
Nice ambiance inside and out, but seating can be a bit limited on weekends. Staff has always been cool. The old fashioned on tap is definitely worth a try. Paprika tacos on Friday nights are delish.
Old fashioned on tap. Went during happy hour. Was a nice spot. Cool small indoor with tons of vinyl. It was unique.
The bar wasn't bad I liked the place, payed tab and left but when I checked my bank account the next day they charged my account over double what my tab was
Typically cool townies, occasionally douchebags and yuppies. Bartenders are great, drinks are boozy.
EDIT: 3/20/23 One cannot deny the sheer awesomeness of the staff
Great selection of beers, great $2 happy hour, great location to drink and pass time.
Outdoor patio has about 8 tables that would site about 6-8 people each. Inside some booths for about 15 people with AC if needed.
Friday tacos for $4 each plus more in their menu.
Amazing ambience both inside and out.
Limited parking next to it.
Accessibility ramps available.
Pet friendly. (ADA comply inside the building).
WiFi available. Ask for password.
Great location for hanging out before taking the bus/train home since the Crestview Station is about a 7-10min walk.
The DJ / Bartender maintains a very specific vibe while serving cocktails, beer and other mixed drinks.
