Bar The Loon reviews
20The highlight of the night was definitely the exceptional service provided by Asha. While the food offered typical bar fare, the drinks were great and inviting atmosphere more than made up for it. Additionally, there's a large patio spot to enjoy a great evening on cooler nights; we will be back for that.
I was so excited to come here, minutes away from where I live. However, our pizza took an hour & 15 minutes. I ordered half margarita and half pepperoni and it turned out half pepperoni and half cheese with mystery meat. The pizza is okay- but not great in comparison to other Uptown options. Mondays are half priced wine, which is awesome! However, we were charged a full bottle of wine when I only had two… and one of those glasses the bartender said was “on her”, since the pizza took so long. When we asked if the half margarita pizza was correct, we were assured they do their margarita pizza differently. The menu says basil and tomato- so that was confusing. In the end, we ended up paying for wine we didn’t drink and a pizza we waited too long for that we had to take to go. Place seems like a good dive bar, but eaters beware.
That's our spot. Has been for years. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Best wings in the city hands-down!
I loved it here. Jordan the manager is not just handsome, he is super attentive to the customers and all their needs. Brittany is also a fantastic employee and an important part of why the Loon is a fun place to visit
We were over by tge Katy trail and stopped by for a quick bite. The had a ranger special for a brat, fries, and a beer for $10. Definitely a steal. Brat was excellent and staff friendly.
Wonderful neighborhood restaurant and bar. Dallas's original gastropub. Very friendly staff. Good food. Good prices.
Racist vibes. Thought it was just me but the other reviews confirm. Couldn’t make a move without being watched. Guess they thought we were a problem. First and last time going.
Wife had lassagna, it was bland, not even salt and pepper would help it. I ordered pene pasta with jimmies itallian sausage (one sausage link at best). Seriously? Had to sit outside due to inside smelling like a dirty mop. But had to wait for numerous empty tables to be cleaned. Get it right guys. You have been in business for over 30 years. First time and last time to visit!
Perfect dive bar, the food and drinks are good and cheap. The best place to grab dinner after walking the Katy Trail or watch an nfl game.
Tia was our waitress and she was awesome! We told her it was our first time so she brought us free chips and guac. Love this place will definitely be back.
Came in cuz a buddy said it was cool, shouldn't have listened. I know when it's busy it can take a bit for wait staff to notice you but I watched them look at me (not make eye contact mind you) multiple times for about 20 minutes before I finally moved inside, waited another 10 minutes before anyone asked if I'd been helped and then had them hand me off to the bartender (who seemed to be the only decent worker with any ethic at all) who had to walk all the way over to my table to take my order. And they had PLENTY of staff but they were chatting with regulars or what not ignoring whole sections. As someone who's worked front and back of house for years in multiple states I just can't excuse bad service. The food wasn't that good either and they had problems with their taps so the beer wasn't even cold, smh, for reals. One star and only because of the one bartender with good work ethic, go her.
Walked up and decided to try it. The place was packed but yet the food still came out fast and hot. This food was great and big drinks. Prices were extremely reasonable and actually far lower than any place near by. It's really a good spot for a Great menu plus drinks.
Best neighborhood brunch spot, never busy - yum food and good drinks. Great shady outdoor seating too.
Mike, the server we had for our last visit, was awesome
I am a 100% disabled veteran. The short chubby woman with the brown hair refused to accommodate my service animals. She would not let me inside to use the restroom as I had been seated outside. This establishment is in clear violation of the statute under the Americans With Disabilities Act. They have a “dog friendly” patio but my working dogs and I were treated with the utmost disrespect. The food is terrible and the service even worse. Expect a lawsuit for your violation of the federal statute under the ADA, Loon. Do not patronize this place.
We're not from here just stopped in to eat before we went back to our room the wait was long the glass that I had a drink in didn't smell clean but the black bartender was Awesome
Cold beer. Interesting vibe on the patio. Stick with the pizza and pub food. Interior and restrooms are grubby. Takes any shine off.
Food was good, atmosphere was lively, bartenders were great. Drinks were perfect. All in all, a fun place, big tvs, and attractive atmosphere.
The Loon is a great place in uptown. One of the few local spots with great food and well priced drinks. Bartenders and servers are always amazing. Shannon is always great!
Relaxing local bar with good on and off menu food. If you like cocktails, they pour them strong.
The only reason we are giving a 4, because of the bartender KELSEY! She was amazing. She was the only server/bartender working from open till 4/4: 30. And she was on it. When she stepped away for a much needed/earned break, I went to order another beer and fries. The OWNER took my order and said “I’ll let her (Kelsey) know when she gets back”. Eventually the owner brought me the beer. Never asked the name on the tab or anything. But, KELSEY delivered all day. She rocked. Will come back only for her. If she’s not working, I’m not coming. Thanks girl! Happy new year.
