I had a wonderful experience at this place. Melanie Sanders, Community Director was most attentive to my needs. We became friends. Abdulai Jawara, the leasing agent also went above and beyond to help. I will miss them

So, I have lived here for 6 years. I moved in after going through a divorce and thought I would be here for 2 maybe 3 years at most. Now 6 years later I just gave me notice to move out and it is bittersweet, because I have loved living here so much. There really is a sense of “community” here and I have really loved living here. It will be hard to leave. I am so grateful to the Management, especially Melanie. She was so supportive while going through my divorce and flexible with my moving arrangements. The apartments are spacious and the décor was perfect for decorating my apartment in a cozy shabby chic theme. I can’t say enough about the Maintenance Department. Not once did I ever have any issues and I have always been impressed with how quickly they have responded. I have always felt safe here and the amenities are great. The surrounding area has pretty much everything you need and bonus that they have live music during the summer. You walk around at night and music is in the air and people are enjoying the various restaurants. There is a cute grocer store that has always been so convenient to run over to if I needed a grocery item. The neighbors have been great, quiet, no issues and I have even made some good friends. Nice gym/pool as well and the landscaping is always kept up. I have always gotten a ton of compliments on my apartment and so many of my friends loved coming over this way to hang-out socially. This is a place where I would want my mom to live if that need ever arose, which is saying a lot. If you are trying to decide to move between this place or another community I can tell you that you would be making a good choice if you chose to live here. Thanks Nexus Lakeside for the great experience and I will really miss it here.

Loved the location and everything was good till it wasn't.
Every winter the sprinkler pipes bust due to poorly insulation construction. 1st winter not a big deal I was only woken up at 3-4 am when the pipes bust and set off the fire alarm. Everyone meets in the parking lot meets the fire truck and then eventually goes back to bed.
2nd Winter I come home Christmas Eve to meet the firemen and see water cascading off my balcony. Water covered every inch of floor in my apartment, my neighbors on both sides, and the hallway. These things happen, I do believe proper construction could prevent but it will continue to happen.
The problem is the aftermath and how nexus deals with the issues. They refused to call flood restoration company.
Maintenance spent time on Christmas eve helping me shop vac some of the water and bringing me fans. 4 days later I talked them into a dehumidifier. Request to move apartment's were denied. A week later a crew comes in and cuts sheetrock out, removes the carpet pad. Large holes in sheetrock averaging 6ftx 2ft are left open in living room and bedroom for over a month. A hole from my bed room to the exterior of the porch is also left open for over a month. Contractors return after over a month to put up new insulation in the walls and sheet rock over it also lay a new carpet pad under the old carpet. They enclose black mold, pictured and still today -6 months after there is a hole in the siding under the fire sprinkler on the porch. Not only did they enclose the mold but they left a fist sized hole on the exterior allowing rain and vermin into the walls.
In total I spend more than a month out of the apartment due to the living conditions and decided to terminate the lease early. The front office emailed me a bill and said they would turn me over to collections if I didn't pay within 4 days. I had called 2 times after moving out requesting any remaining balance and apparently I missed this invoice in the mail. Inspecting the invoice my water bill was over 3 times my previous water bill. Nice neighborhood but not good business practice.

In response to the owners reply;
Since December I have had many in office visit, phone calls and emails. The front office has always been very kind and friendly however if anything further than a smile is required you have to speak with the manager or assistant manager. A very different approach is take by the management. My simple request for a real restoration team to be called was that no restoration companies are available but when I called them they were happy to help however being a tenant I was not allow to hire them, only the owners could hire them and they refused. So again rather than hire professionals to clean up my dwelling they had me do it with a shop vac on Christmas. Then drug out the repairs for months, had them done by the lowest bidder and refused to allow me to move into a different apartments and required I finish my contract. Thank you for taking the time to reply to my post regarding my experience I appreciate that but I am not the new tenant with a hole in the exterior of there home.

I have lived at Nexus for 4 years and love the location and amenities. My only complaint is the parking. All of the 1845 restaurant guests park in our reserved spots and I find myself having to walk from the back of the complex to find a spot.
I spend a lot money here each month and feel like we should have spots solely reserved for the tenants of the building. Parking stickers would help & towing signs.

Maintenance is always quick to respond and they are very friendly. Office staff is friendly and helpful as well.
