OCVT has been so impactful on our son! His vision has improved so much from the treatment from OCVT. I would recommend anyone who has vision issues book an appointment and see how OCVT can help you!

My daughter has made a lot of academic progress since starting vision therapy at OCVT. It has been a worthwhile investment. She enjoys the sessions too!

This place is good if you are able to get a good therapist who is reliable and doesn’t cancel last minute. The reason for the 2 star review is frequent cancellation by one therapist and not being able to reschedule. This disrupts the therapy completely and it feels like you are paying for nothing.

My daughter needs optometry treatment and we went to OCVT Pecan Park and we loved it!
First they did a detailed evaluation of what was needed and set up a treatment plan.
Then my daughter started the sessions and she really liked it. There is a strong emphasis on pedagogy and the approach is really kid friendly. My daughter likes all the "games" she is doing (which in fact are activities to make her work on her vision).
The team is great and always here to help! For example, they helped a lot with getting pre approval from our insurance, so that part of the treatment is covered!
My daughter s vision improved a lot and we highly recommend OCVT!

My husband Paul has been coming to OCVT for 21/2 years and in that time his eyes have gone from using a prism of 8 down to no prism. Paul really enjoys working with Theresa

Vision therapy has changed my life. I had my eyes corrected aesthetically but standard vision was never attained after the surgery. My whole life I adapted (unconsciously) and never knew what 3D was until OCVT! The staff is great and vision therapy needs to be evangelized so that others don't go through life not knowing what their vision is missing!

We were so relieved and blessed to find OCVT! The staff is exceptional, every person. It’s been amazing to see my son’s progress and to know that he is in great hands. OCVT’s communications among the staff and to the family are always thorough. Thank you for your loving care.

Could not be happier with this place! My son was diagnosed with a vision issue at a very early age by our pediatrician (18 months) and OCVT has helped us navigate his care every step of the way; from selecting tiny glasses, to lens selection, to recommendations for home to encourage more wear, to therapy sessions and more. They are responsive, polite, client-centric, and truly have a knack for working with all ages, but especially young children. I can’t imagine trying to navigate the ins and outs of my son’s vision therapy without them!

OCVT is the best thing that happened for my son. So many of his struggles were resolved. The doctors are straightforward with all results. They will recommend only if needed. Their recommendations will be based off of your performance on activities. They give you stats and chart your performance according to the norm. We saw our son improve in so many areas.
The staff is extremely professional and understanding. They are always willing to work with you as much as possible. They help with all insurance paperwork. I can't say enough great things about them. I HIGHLY recommend them for any of your visual needs!

Highly recommend! My wife had an head injury that resulted in vision problems and OCVT was outstanding in restoring her to health! We sought other doctors who basically had said my wife would have to live with the vision problems, but OCVT was specialized, professional, and helped my wife make a full recovery. We are so thankful for OCVT!

My son Merrick was awarded a highly valuable scholarship for vision therapy when he was a 2nd grade student at AISD.
We attended meetings weekly for a year and I still consider the clinical staff at OCVT the best ever. I continue (many years later) to pay out of pocket for my son's annual vision exams at this location. Their attention to detail is amazing and they are proficient at engaging even the most reluctant of children in the process of vision therapy.
My son made amazing strides while he was there. His vision was substantially impaired prior to his treatment. With weekly vision therapy his acuity and muscle strength improved in leaps and bounds. I would recommend this avenue of treatment without reservation to anyone seeking it.

Our daughter struggled with many things to include reading and writing. We were referred to vision therapy after being tested for AHDH. She showed a severe deficit in 6/7 major eye/brain functions. It took a little longer than originally planned (thanks Covid), but happy to say that she is finally equal to her peers! A great big thanks to Dr. O’Brien and Theresa for all the hard work helping her through!

Dr. Larson and team are the best. I started doing therapy after having a brain surgery (I am fine!) and double vision which severely impacted my life. I am happy to say I am doing great, no double vision and can function normally as a result. Going to a mostly children's therapy center for an adult is a bit off-putting, but Marina and I could laugh at it and adapt. I highly recommend Dr. Larson and team.

My now 14 year old son went through vision therapy when he was 7. It was well worth it. His lazy eye is not lazy any longer. He has excellent tracking making him an outstanding baseball player.

I had my daughter go to OCTV for her diagnoses of strabismus and amblyopia. We found out about OCVT through the recommendations of neighbors and while researching non-surgical management of strabismus.

Her ophthalmologists did not believe in the benefits of vision therapy but after several weeks, her ability to read, stereopsis (3D vision) and peripheral vision improved.

One downside: it’s expensive. My insurance (United) doesn’t cover it. They used to then stopped. It’s worth the money if you can afford it or have a healthcare spending account (HSA) to use for it.

Dr Larson and her team provide an incredible service that I think most people aren’t aware even exists. Many symptoms that are labeled a learning disability, a lack of intelligence, or just an inability to do something physically actually have to do with the visual system not working properly. Dr Larson loves what she does, and she loves to educate people about their potential. I have been through vision therapy with her, and I never realized that I had solvable problems that I was just living with because I thought I had to. I can read more efficiently and fluidly now and with less effort, and my eyesight has even improved (lowering my prescription). I have learned skills through vision therapy that I can practice on my own to keep my brain sharper (as I age!) and my visual muscles stronger. Dr. Larson also looks for potential health issues when she examines the eyes. I see her as a continuing support person for my overall health, as well as for my vision. There aren’t many people like her in this country! Only about 1% of optometrists have the postgraduate training that she has. And she’s right here in the Austin area! Go for a free consultation!
