Had a great time just wish that they would help more when it comes to your exit plans. An more training for employees when it comes to people skills.

The WRONG Step! If I could, I would not even give one star to this place. They are full of lies and very corrupt. We were told over the phone that she met their criteria and that her insurance would cover the complete care. This was over over a series of multiple phone calls and pre-admittance. Once the long drive was taken after assurance that she could recieve care, it wasn't the case once we we arrived. The way my loved one was treated is unacceptable. My loved one met criteria. She used days prior to admittance and had proof. She didn't fit an image they were looking for, so they made every excuse not to take her. Even with her own evidence and proof of recent substance abuse. They lied to their corporate office and said she hadn't used in several weeks.even though she told them everything and had the proof. They said it wasn't enough and she didn't have enough drugs in her system amongst other far stretched excuses. She made sure that insurance would 100% pay before making the extremely long drive. Calling and verifying several times and was assured, she was accepted and met the criteria. I will be filing a formal complaint against all staff with the upmost highest authority and legal council if needed. It looks like a nice place online, but they are ugly on the inside. Stay far away from this place.

Ok. So I have been around the block 26 times, including this with Right Step, Wimberley. Throughout my journeys over these years, I have encountered facilities, staff, and settings galore. Not until this time did I ever feel this sense of humanity around and in me again.

The facility, the staff, the setting, and the aura of this facility are all-encompassing. I have never felt as liberated and able to roam and seek as free as I have here. Not only that but I was also encouraged to do so. I was motivated to ask the more difficult questions outlined outside the recovery rooms. While equally being heard, made to feel valued, and respected through it all. ALL THE STAFF HERE ARE AMAZING!

The mission of this facility comes to life through all stages of service. Through the CEO, Admissions coordinators, NPs, DRs, Counselors, Nursing staff, Case Managers, Chefs, Behavioral Health Staff, Grounds Keepers/Maintenance, Alumni Coordinator, the Volunteers who come in to provide outside resources and meetings through H&I Service Commitments, the Geese who waddle around this place daily (ONLY TWO BUT THEY ROCK!), the Frogs Croaking at Night, the Birds breathing vibrant energy into the area through their constant sing-song, the Cats who make friend's with the people coming and going. It has been the best experience I have ever encountered.

I cannot express my gratitude thoroughly for all the Goodness that comes with this facility and its staff. Where I am going with my next steps in my life has a majority part to do with myself inherently. The total impact of this facility and its multiple facets has also played a vital role in my stabilization, encouragement, push, nurturing, and development. Like a symphony. All instruments included. Like the US Service Branches. "One Team, One Fight. "

Thank you, Right Step, Wimberley. Thank you for your totality. Thank you for being a needed oasis in the dry, hot, and arid desert that had been a recent part of my life. I am eager to come back. To help and give back. To provide for those coming in what was provided for me as well. Home to start the road of Recovery.

The staff here is wonderful and they really worked with me to address my needs. The counselors are great and the food is awesome. Classes are really in depth and I love that it's out in nature. I would recommend this place to anyone struggling with dual diagnosis.

Overall, a solid rehabilitation center.

Strong clinical program:
The duration of clinical programming, daily,
is balanced. Clients have mandated class (group) attendance. Starting with wake-up at 7: 00 AM to lights-out at 11: 00 PM. First group starts at 9: 15 AM, and last group ending at 8: 00 PM. This gives the client 11 hours to attend to personal care and sleep.

If I could change something:
Improve/shorten medication wait-times.

I just want to preface this by saying, rehab is rehab, and for those of us who can’t afford a miniature spa rehab, this is probably one of the best ones. At least it was in my situation. The layout is very nice and the staff there are amazing. Jamie, Ken, Trey, Renee, Madison, and Angie are my personal favorites, not to discredit anybody. I do wish that they had more therapy sessions with the counselors. I feel like those were pretty infrequent, but I was also there with a ton of people and they can only do so much. The food is also pretty damn good. The only thing that I wish was that we were allowed to have dessert but all in all, I literally beg them to take me back when I relapsed and luckily they did because the alternatives were not places that I wanted to go. I also wanna point out that I was not court ordered to go to rehab. Nobody forced me to do so, depending on your situation, this place may or may not be the right fit for you, but I personally just didn’t have good insurance.

For me, the thing I value the most about the Right Step is the follow up after you leave. My alumni group has become very much like family to me, and really kept me from veering off course and reeling me back in when I start to waver. Trey, the alumni coordinator, goes out of his way constantly to reach out and plan fun things for us to do at least once a month together, follows up if he hasn’t heard from you, and has just been a very supportive and helpful person to have in your corner.

So to sum this up, if you want to get massages and pedicures, this probably isn’t place for you, however, if you are looking for a network of great people who care and support each other, then you’re in the right place.

I regained hope here! I made SOBER life long family and a sense of belonging, and community here. Staff was caring humble compassionate and kind of my needs. Doctors, and nursing saw me promptly, were thorough professional and friendly with my medical treatment. Psychiatry along with therapist were knowledgeable and explained my treatment and helped with my goals the entire time! Behavior health technicians were kind, and respectful and showed empathy and compassion. I felt safe and respected the entire time. I was able to feel like a human being again as I felt like my dignity, and self respect were being restored. I was taught how to love myself and forgive myself and other’s for the first time in a long time. I began to learn who I was through the 12 steps of AA (other programs were available) and was taught them in a compassionate way. Jackson was AMAZING in his one on one class and explanation of the steps, why I’ve been thinking acting and feeling the way I do. And that’s we do recover. Thank you all so much!

Nice grounds…. Cabins etc…Need to be worked on. Needs holes in the walls patched and painted. Septic system stinks when sprinklers come on. Need to be handicapped accessible in all rooms … especially detox areas. Need more staff in general. Need more one on one counseling, like 3 days a week.
Need a more variety of foods for meals. Salad bar should be available for lunch and dinner. They will accommodate special diets if you remind them ahead of time which is ridiculous. Dr. And Nutritionist meet with you about your diet if needed and send emails out to all staff including kitchen staff. The problem is they don’t read our don’t care about your special needs diet. Nursing staff is a joke…. Yes there are RN’s and LVN’s. On staff, but in an emergency situation (such as detoxing patients)
They are not as punctual and competent as they need to be. Meds given to wrong patients is not acceptable. Leaving the facility with someone else’s meds. In with your stuff I feel is negligent. Discussing about new symptoms you are experiencing such as pain, nausea, vomiting, hypertension etc…needs to be followed up with by a nurse or Dr. Working the next hour.
Janitor / housekeeping needs attention. Shouldn’t run out of linens, have years of bacteria, mildew, hair in you bath/ shower area. Pool filthy.
Hygiene items should be available all day if needed by the patient, then turned in after use. Sweets should be provided …. Says the addict will crave sugar in the big blue book of AA. Mail should be checked throughout the day and given to the patients when it comes in and after it is searched. Not only a certain time of day….
Your recovery is all about if you are ready to change your lifestyle.
With the changes listed above this will help the facility tremendously.
I was there for 30 days.

I have truly enjoyed my time at The Right Step in Wimberly, TX. Everyone (clients, staff and nurses) were absolutely amazing.
I had a DRAMA-FREE experience, and you can too if you stay focused on your RECOVERY. I’ll forever be grateful for this place.
