Awful. When you walked downstairs, no one would help you. I had to ask 4 different times for a blow dryer that worked. I also left a very expensive pair of earrings in the bathroom and after we called 4 hours later when we realized…. Celine told us she would call us back. We had to leave 5 separate messages for her over a 7 day period for her to finally answer our last call with ‘ they didn’t find anything’. Dishonest and they cover for their co workers. Can not be trusted!

Horrible. We checked in to room and our luggage is in the room. They say they checked someone else into to our room. They won’t let us get our luggage. Receptionist is horrible

I stayed two different nights two weeks apart using Hilton Honors points. The first time I was on my own and most recently traveling with my sister.

I am disappointed in the stays considering the amount of points I lost, but I suppose I’d have been more upset had I actually had to pay full price.

There’s a weird unpleasant chemical smell in the hallways that seeps into the guest rooms.

I reserved a suite most recently assuming there would be a fold out couch so my sister could have the bed. There was a couch. It didn’t fold out. I had to ask for extra bedding and was told to check the room closet twice—which I had already done and was why I called to ask for bedding.

There were only two towels in the bathroom and one was threadbare.

I’ve stayed in hotels over 2 months this year. This wasn’t the worst one, by far, but for the amount of points/money required to stay here I was disappointed.

Our check in was quick and smooth. The room was a great size, clean, and smelled great. The temp was good too. I was worried about traffic noise, but actually didnt have much issue once we went to bed. The pillows however where not great. They were feather i think and sunk immediately no matter how many times folded.

This place is super cute and everyone who works here is very friendly! The good: even though this place is historical, the rooms are updated and very cute. The bed was clean and comfortable. There was plenty of space for the two of us. The in room kurig is very nice, with a couple of options. The not as great, but not terrible parts: We had to move from our original room because the privacy blind wouldn't come down over the window. When we got to the second room, it had the same problem. They weren't on track. My husband and I pulled and finangled it until it came down. The view wasn't that great because the homeless population here is sadly enormous. Hundreds of homeless individuals lined the streets all around this place. This is not something that the hotel can fix, but it is what it is. There is only valet parking available. There are some nearby lots, but they didn't seem safe. The valet parking probably was just as unsafe, but we opted for it even though it's $40 a night and more if you stay past 1. The restaurant was supposed to close at 11, but when we finally arrived at 10, they said they weren't serving food anymore. Anyways, with all of that, I would recommend staying here, especially if you are just in for a night. The lobby is gorgeous!

I paid the room fee in advance but they tried to charge me again twice! Upon check-in and checkout. The sink handle and light was broken. Dust piled up on the lights. Super noisy at night. I will never stay here again.

My stay here was nothing less than amazing! Tommy was the best receptionist I've ever met and all of Chef Raphael meals were to die for! I definitely encourage all to experience!

If I could give zero stars, I would. The rooms are tiny, no mini fridge or microwave, the ac unit made a horrible buzzing noise every time it kicked on. It took 45 mins to get a menu to my room and by the time I received the menu I could no longer order breakfast because the time had passed. I had to call down 3 times for a simple pot of coffee to be brought up. When I ordered dinner to my room the food was luke warm and soggy from being in the togo containers. They forgot my drinks I ordered with dinner and my husband had to end up going after them. The hotel is connected to a club which BOOMED all night long. It was miserable. As soon as you exit the hotel doors and look to the left, there is an insanely huge homeless population that deterred me from wanting to do any walking. The “king suite deluxe” room I booked was a joke. The rooms in standard hotels are better. I’m sick to my stomach that I paid $400 for two nights at such a mediocre (at best) hotel. When checking out I informed the front desk attendant that my stay was far less than enjoyable and all she did was stare at me for a few seconds and told me I could do an online review. So here I am doing just that.

The hotel was beautiful. The rooms were of great quality. I travel all over the world, and the US is the only place I routinely run into people sleeping on the streets. Within 30 meters of the front door, there were tens of people sleeping on the streets. Within two street corners, there were over 100 people, sleeping and milling around. There are too many other places in the world to stay besides here. Regrettably, I can not recommend the hotel. I only marked down one star because others may still which to stay here.

Overall positive experience. The rooms were quite nice, and the hotel felt historic and significant. Nice remodeled bathrooms, convenient room layout, and I like how the TV was mounted and not just on a desk. There is valet parking, and though they took good care of my car, and were nice guys, at 5pm when I needed to head to a wedding, they took quite a while to get my car. The location was convenient for where I needed to be, but there was a noticeable homeless population right next to the hotel.

I thought the hotel was very nice visually, but that being said I would have liked housekeeping for that price. The smell of dead mice was in the front where you walk in and in the elevator. Maybe a deodorant automatic smell dispenser would help. We stayed on the 10th floor and where you walk out the elevator the smell was strong as well. The AC fan would not stay on throughout the night in 1004, even with the room temp not close to 65 degrees. It would shut off and sometimes when it kicked on you could smell the dead mice in our room. We sprayed the room with our perfume and body spray to cover it when it was bad. Also, the location with homeless on either side of the hotel did not give the safest feeling when walking the area. Especially when a gentleman asked for a hug. Looks great, but don't take a deep breath.or look at all the homeless that live on the sidewalks on either side of the hotel. I recommend blinders and nose plugs!

A charmingly small hotel in a historic building only blocks from major attractions. It was just serendipity that I’m a mural painter and there was a mural being painted across the steeet …. Or was it exceedingly great hospitality? Either way we had a relaxed time in this beautiful and cozy hotel.

Rooms are kinda small, no mini fridge, but great location for the baseball game. Homeless folks on the sidewalk across the street on the way to the stadium, thanks liberal mayor.

First impressions are less than cordial but giving this a valid review. I was met by security as I entered the building to valet and actually first prompted to check with lobby before they could valet; which I assumed wasn’t my 8 hr clothing style being judged I’m sure. Front desk wasn’t too awkwardly social but it’s nearly 3a.m (who the hell am I to be as frugal with words)! Once the validation to my ability to pay another card for incidentals of 100, then vale was nice enough to follow me to the door then allowed me to walk alone and pack my things, carrying several bags, suits from dry lean and some good old fashioned boots in my hands, open the hotel lobby doors while patiently waiting for me to then ask for room information. Well friend you sat at the front desk while I checked in, you know what I forgot. Apparently he as well while I fumbled through my full hands to find the room key. Once that was taken care of he gave me my ticket and little else to speak of. Trip here must be as bad as saying “hello” for the night crews.
The room is well put together, don’t plan on a king size room for more than one person and if your doing work from room and a spouse, tell the to stay home or go shopping. It’s modestly small but well put together! The chic room is fixed with the normal coffee colored water maker and no bottled waters, an ice bucket and no ice machine or signs designating such existence of one in or around that backbitten or floor. The hobo population camped directly and around your hotel is nice impressions to why the valet might not have wanted to assist your possible needs at 230 am, just thinking aloud. Aside from the super uncomfortable sagging bed, my left foot is higher than the right as I consider a chiropractor appointment on my trip, I hope you consider the same insights to this wonderful establishment.
I will say the blinds do very good if you plan on sleeping in, my room was exceptionally quiet from unwanted outside noise (kudos for that as I worried being so near the elevator), again the decor was up to date along with amazing ceilings for sized toom- give it a 5 star considering the size they had to work with! Awesome work there!

I am not endorsed, paid or contracted by anyone other than my own free will to write these facts. I am being honest and will adjust this with a full review today as things develop through my personal experience. I do not wish to be negative nor do I wish to be hurtful to this hotel however for the price, location, your name…. My assumption was much better than practiced so far; you can do better!

Great location. Staff was great. Only thing is the Homeless Outreach Shelter near. But we were not bothered or solicited at all.

This review is to express my gratitude to Celine who works at the front desk. She went above and beyond to help me out. I forgot to bring cufflinks and she sewed a couple of buttons on my shirt. What a rockstar. Thanks Celine

Small, dirty rooms that get humid the minute AC kicks off. Shower leaked like crazy. Service virtually non-existent. Valet more than happy to let the guests hold the door for him but never saw him return the favor.

Cool lobby tho.
