I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with an apartment complex that boasted subpar customer service. From start to finish, my interactions with their staff left me frustrated and thoroughly disappointed.

The first red flag was when it took them months to address a critical issue—the tub in my apartment was falling to pieces. I submitted multiple maintenance requests, and each time, I was met with delayed responses and empty promises. The lack of urgency displayed by the management was appalling, leaving me to endure deteriorating living conditions for an extended period.

As if that wasn't enough, my troubles continued when I decided to move out. Despite leaving the apartment clean, I was slapped with an unjustified $170 cleaning fee. I ensured the apartment met the standard cleaning requirements, but more was needed for the management. The fact that I was charged without any clear explanation or evidence of wrongdoing added insult to injury.

Regrettably, I neglected to document the apartment's condition before moving out, assuming the management would do the right thing. That was my mistake, and it's a lesson I won't soon forget. However, it speaks volumes about the integrity of this establishment that they would take advantage of a tenant's trust in such a manner.

In contrast, I have since moved into another property in the Domain area, and the difference in customer service is night and day. The staff at my new residence are attentive, responsive, and genuinely care about the well-being of their tenants. If you're considering options in the Domain, I strongly advise you to steer clear of the property I just vacated. There are far superior options with properties that not only maintain a higher standard of living but also prioritize their tenants' satisfaction with excellent customer service and staff. I, for one, am much happier in my new home.

Stay away from The Standard or any properties managed by bh. I was a resident for 3 years and upon move out I was charged over $1K and lost my entire deposit. The biggest issue I had was being charged for missing blinds which were taken out by one of the maintenance workers and being charged to replace the carpet which apparently had "total deterioration" according to Omar one of the managers. First we feel we were unjustly charged for the blinds as their worker took them out after completing a service job! Second, the carpet damage which they claimed was "total deterioration" was a result of furniture staying in place for 2 years (desk and bed). What were we supposed to do to prevent that? To further illustrate the inconsistency and unjust charges to the carpet: when we lived in another unit at the Standard prior to the one we just moved out of, we were not charged for any carpet damage despite the furniture being the exact same! Why were charged now living in a different unit? I've attached a video of the apartment upon our move out and will let you the reader decide whether we deserve over $1K charges. Upon bringing up this issue with management they claimed that they "do not negotiate move out charges".

Stay away. Horrible move out experience. Be prepared for a hefty bill upon move out.

Highly do not recommend living here unless you like things broken for long periods of time. Trash chute has been broken for 2+ weeks with no end date in sight. Building is smelly. Parking gates have been broken for months. Definitely don’t live near the Restoration Hardware store they do really obnoxiously loud things at ridiculous hours of the morning. Bonnie is the only good thing about this place.

I just moved in Friday and the move in experience has been less than ideal. I walk in and the smoke detector battery is going off. I walk into the bathroom and see the shower is missing whatever the cap thing is called underneath the faucet. The window sliding door has this blue stain all across it. To add on to all of this, the washing machine doesn't work so I can't even wash my sheets and bedding from moving down here. It's clear that this apartment was not ready for move in, and I even moved in 6 days after my official move in date, so there was plenty of time to clean the apartment up more before I moved in. For such a nice area, I definitely expected this place to clean and check that the apartment is actually ready to move in before a tenet comes in.

Renewal was very easy and online too - so very good - however, it would have been great if someone would have had a conversation about renewal or invited or called me to discuss it - personal touch is always a good IMHO

While I did not have any negative experience while living here for 3 years except for the noise levels at night my move out experience has been horrible. They never acknowledged my initial move out notice and then quoted me the wrong lease end date on email as last day. Turns out my lease ended several days prior to the end date they put on my move out paperwork inspite of me giving them clear instructions that I was not renewing my lease and had actually handed in my keys weeks prior to either quoted/actual move out date. They are making me pay for all the extra days/utilities despite the dates being mixed up by their office staff. I had been patiently waiting to hear back from their central office as I had been communicating with them but turns out they turned my details in to a debt collector and have messed up my credit history for an error they made. Their office is a mess. Stay away from these crooks.

Aside from the Christmas music all month December and living around the corner form the bars. I have enjoyed living here for the most part. Sometimes the elevator breaks down but I don’t have much to complain about

On September 14,2023 our car was broken into on the resident levels of the parking garage. The car had been ransacked and personal property was taken from my car. We contacted the leasing department at once leaving messages on all the numbers we had as well as sending an email copying three people from the leasing office. Did not hear from one person all day. Later went in person and was met with an unfazed, don't care response from the leasing department- Suggesting that they were aware of this ongoing problem but there was nothing they could do about it and I was simply told that I need to contact corporate. They didn't ask details, didn't file a report-nothing. The contacts of the people given were Dore Dishon who is located in Austin? Left message, never have heard back from this person. I also contacted the corporate number of a person and left a message with the Regional Manager at BH Management-Richard Dominguez, and never heard back from this person. Prior to my car being broken into, that same week, we informed the leasing office that there are car alarms going off regularly during the late hours of the night during the week. Once again, seemingly unfazed, didn't seem bothered by this. We informed the leasing office that the access gate has been left wide open for entrance to the resident parking levels. We did inform the leasing office of this at the time we told them of the alarms sounding off at night. Since moving in, which has been a little more than a month, the access gate has been left wide open. A secure, functioning access gate, may prevent random people to get in and repeat the same vandalism and break-ins. The doors to access the building from the resident level parking garage is meant to only open with the key fob. The door can be yanked wide open with one swift pull. The building is knowingly leaving the resident levels unsecure and unsafe. What will be next-random strangers roaming the building to break-in to apartments or harm a resident? For the amount of rent and aggravation caused just to initially rent with them has been truly a disappointment. Management responses is scripted in these reviews, "you're sorry for the bad experience and you strive for excellent communication". Feel free to reach out to them? Is The Standard at Domain, going to do anything about this? We would love for someone to reach out to us.

I did a self guided tour. Oscar is a great leasing agent. Answered all my questions and discussed options. Great amenities and, of course, being so close shopping and dining options.

Not about the apartments. Just the customer service. I walked in looked for someone, sat down because I saw people were talking. A guy walked in more than 3 min later and was helped immediately. I had a delivery, he wanted an apartment

Came on Friday and was informed tours are appointment only which was inconvenient and they weren’t assisting anyone else. Made an appointment for Monday with a guy I didn’t catch his name. He wrote my info in a post it note then set it for the wrong day so when I showed up Monday they weren’t expecting me. Oscar was kind enough to assist me anyways while Bonnie seemed unwilling to help anyone, including the manager when she asked her to do something. Apartments are def older than those in the community and service was better elsewhere but they did have a great gym.

Absolutely gorgeous apartments! Great location. Safe. Walkability to everything is great. Cannot wait to live here soon!
EDIT: upon moving in, my AC was broken. They fixed it immediately. Unit is perfect. It is clean. Oscar has been professional and kind from start to finish. Couldn’t be happier.

The tour of the apartment complex was done with Oscar. He was courteous and answered all of our questions. Very pleased with our visit.

Cockroaches, staff who doesn’t care. NOT ALL UNITS HAVE A WASHER DRIER. We were toured a unit that did but when we arrived in our actual unit, the washer dryer were missing. The office tried to offer us a $50 per month credit to go to a laundromat which we did not except obviously, after arguing, they finally agreed to put a washer dryer in our unit. Do not let this place for you. It is not worth it. There are far better places in the domain that cost the same.

Where to start.
First off, let's go over what some of the other residents have complained about:

- Reserved parking gates that remain open so people can more easily break into your car. Check (this has been an issue for *years* and it's baffling that it hasn't been fixed)
- Loud neighbors and being able to hear every step of those living above you. Check
- Carefree management that is incredibly hard to contact. Check
- Package theft. Check

This property has it all, ladies and gentlemen. But if this isn't a big enough deterrent for you, let's go over my own experience:

I moved in around 2 years ago to an apartment with a gorgeous view of a garage.
Almost immediately, I was met with a loud neighbor living above me. Fear not, though, management had it all covered: they advised me to contact security whenever my neighbor was being too loud. What do you know? Security itself let me know that there wasn't anything to be done but to contact management.
After spending months complaining, they finally transferred me to the top floor free of charge (their only redeeming action that leads me to give 2 stars). Though I'm assuming it's to avoid a potential lawsuit related to laws of quiet enjoyment (and their passive approach in enforcing it).

After the move, the bulk of the issues that were negatively affecting my quality of life were gone. But the major issue I have currently is the unresponsiveness of management. I've once reported package theft with exact time stamps of when the theft occurred. No response. I then had a potential intruder open my apartment door in the evening and close it when I noticed them. I reported it, and what do you know? No response, despite going back down to the leasing office to ask for updates multiple times. You'd expect that the thought of someone having access to other people's apartments would be highly prioritized, but it's really not. They couldn't care less.

To the management: it's not a crime to care. If you were living in a different property, you'd expect the same "standard" as the one you're failing to meet. Do better.
