Really fun sports bar with an old school vibe. As in wood everywhere, no steel. A whole nother bar upstairs. Great spot for soccer matches.

Bar food, but really good bar food. Plus the building has a intersting history and feel to it.

Visited The Tavern on a Haunted ATX tour. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the drinks were reasonably priced.

Austin Chronicle ad suggested this place for NYE food and drinks. Delicious food, great service & we watched TCU v. Michigan bowl game. We will tell all of our Houton friends about this place. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Austin.

If you aren’t white expect to be treated poorly. Waited 20 minutes just to be asked if I needed help. Took another 15 minutes to be able to place an order and pay. Eventually I had to wait another 40 minutes to get my food. Once the food came out, employe asked if I had already payed despite the fact that payment is asked for prior to placing the order. I’ve been to the Tavern multiple times during the lunch time and I have never experienced such horrible treatment like I did today. Ohh by the way, my order was incorrect.

The Tavern is a great spot. Super easy parking, great choices for booze and beer, and the food is really good. Friendly staff and a cool vibe.

My husband had the shrimp scampi, my son had the brick chicken, and I had the tavern burger. All were delicious. The burger tasted like it was wagu beef which had an impressive flavor. The fries with my burger were some of the best I’ve ever had. It would have been nice to have bread with the shrimp scampi. The server was friendly, fast, and attentive.

First visit to the Tavern, many more to come! Chicken wings were delicious but too small for me. Friendly staff and patrons, and close to a Skate park and a skateboard store, nice added bonus.

The food was okay, I did not get to eat my food until it was cold because I spent 30+ minutes just trying to find someone to inform them that my daughter did not get the salad she ordered. There is no table service so you have to order at the bar. I understand our shortage in people willing ti work nowadays and businesses are having to do what they can to stay above water. The bartenders are great but the bar gets pretty busy, which made it hard to talk to anyone about that and anyone who was walking in or out of the kitchen purposely makes a point to avoid you. We used to come here years ago and loved it, so I was excited when I was going to be able to introduce it to my kids. The only reason I gave it 3 starts instead of 2 was because there was a bartender who, although she didn't get the order entirely correct, was a sweetheart to deal with when I was able to get her attention.

Quick pitstop in for a couple drinks. Didn't eat but staff was awesome! Great choice to watch football if needed.

This is a decent place with decent food, however, it used to be awesome. Bartenders are still good.

New ownership has taken away ALL of the specials on Monday nights I used to enjoy here. This was a regular spot I went to weekly for a couple years. Now, I still go, yet only occasional. The bartenders are mostly the same (and great!), unless it's a busy night, and then they're changed out.

The tavern is awesome. $6 appetizers on Mondays - which includes chicken wings. Also beers are significantly cheaper on Mondays. The teriyaki are great! Staff up + downstairs at the bar on Monday is really good, quick, and friendly. A delightful bar with neighborhood feel.

My friends and I visited Taverna for the very first time this evening. The experience was amazing! Rachel our server suggested the bucatini carbonara with shrimp, which was outstanding! The food and service was amazing! The service we received from Rachel was great and her personality radiant. She made our dinner fun and a great end to a very long day

Awesome place to have a few beers, burger and fries, and other libations; watch a game; chat with friends. We got 'stuck' here when a HS football game at the nearby field was rain delayed, and I'll probably return rain or shine. Thanks for the good times and service!
