The Tipsy Oak reviews
20Lots of outdoor seating that was spaced appropriately due to the pandemic. The staff was friendly and the food was amazing! Even the menus were avaliable via scan and the atmosphere was very comfortable.
Great Service, food was very tasty! Waiter was very helpful in finding out gluten free options. Fries are not cooked in a dedicated fryer but their salads were a good substitute without croutons. Happy to find out they do have the free and clear beer made by Legal Draft Brewing!
We went for the first time tonight, and it was a really great experience. I loved the outside area with live music and the picnic feel. The beer selection was good, poutine was great especially with the pork belly. I had a burger with queso cheese sauce and slaw and my husband had the fish and chips. The fish was super crispy and flavorful. We loved the atmosphere and will be back.
The staff is super friendly and helpful on food and drink suggestions. All our plates were yummy. The poutine fries are fabulous, as was the tortilla chicken soup. I was told the veggie burger was NOT the beyond/impossible brand.but it was. Make sure servers know the kitchen! That keeps me from throwing 5 stars, other rhan that a great experience. The outdoor patio is very chill with a stage for local performers and heaters to boot.
I highly recommend!
This place was great. The inside seating was full so our group of 6 sat outside. Even though the night was cold we were able to enjoy the meal with the outdoor heaters and a fire pit.
The atmosphere was laid back and the wait staff was friendly and attentive.
The food was good. We had brisket grilled cheese, lobster bisque, loaded baked potato soup, salad and brisket cheese fries and everyone enjoyed their meals.
If I’m back in the Arlington / Dallas area. I’ll be back
Nice space, good food, quality service. The brunch menu seemed limited. The noise inside increased while we were there which required us to speak more loudly and strain to hear each other; recommend reducing the volume of the music
The food is amazing, the drinks are great
. Kinda wish they had more options for veggies tho. When I got the salmon dinner, I wanted steamed broccoli, but they only had asparagus.
But the server was so kind and amazing. The bartender, Josh, was so attentive and very socialable. Gave us great recommendations. Will definitely come back again!
Would give 0 stars if i could. Never been here, and now never will be. I called to ask if they had a room for an event and the girl on the phone interrupted me before i could finish my question with a harsh “no. ” And then i asked if we were able to make reservations and again, interrupted me and said “no” THEN proceeded to hang up on me. The photos look like its a fun place, but I’ve lost all interest now.
Very good food but very crowded on a Friday night. It isn't immediately clear that it is a seat yourself when you get there so if you find a table you like, grab it quickly. Reasonable prices but the portions seemed very small to me. I had the brisket grilled cheese and it was the smallest grilled cheese I've ever had. I'll probably come back and recommend others to come.
Not vegetarian friendly. #1 there are almost zero vegetarian choices on the menu. We went with friends so whatever, I just got chips and guacamole. #2 the kids meal Mac and cheese had bacon in it even though there is no mention of it on the menu. I'm not sure of we just went at a weird time (shift change?) - 3pm on a Saturday - but service was rough. My husband never got his alcoholic drink and companion never got her meal (a salad), no refills on drinks or anyone coming to check on us.
I know this place is named for whiskey, but my constant favorite here is the food. I'm not sure I remember a time I was disappointed with it. Their burgers and fries (with ketchup and Mayo on the side) are awesome but my favorite has to be the Jumbo pretzel with mustard and cheese sauce. If you get both, you can start to mix and match the sauces for the ultimate fry dip!
Good food and a wide selection of drinks either on tap or in can to choose from. Live music, when they have it, always seems to be pretty good. Only real thing keeping it from being a five star review is that it's a bit cramped. Seating outside is a bit better, but not much. During a pandemic where you're expected to be 6 ft from people, being back to back to the table next to you seems like an issue.
I went with a medium sized group of people and ordered the Texas margarita but it never showed up. The waiter removed it but that was the only thing I ordered so I left having only sampled some appetizers and drinking water despite being there for an hour. I will likely return because I doubt this is typical of the tipsy oak but I was disappointed.
I was really looking forward to the drink.
I went to The Tipsy Oak with my wife recently and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The outdoor area is comfortable and casual. The crowd is a really great mix of ages, ethnicities, and everyone seemed to just be enjoying the life music and wonderful food. I had the Poutine with smoked pork belly. IT WAS SO GOOD! I’ve been dreaming of it ever since. We also ordered old fashions and they were the only ones I’ll ever drink other than the ones I make at home. Definitely give this place a shot if you’re looking for good environment, food, drinks, service, and a chill crowd.
Great place! We walked in with a party of 11 at 10pm and they accommodated us right away. Attentive staff, lots of great choices on the menu, our food came out at the same time, and most importantly, everything we had was delicious!
Great staff that's super helpful and an accommodating kitchen. Had the Quesadilla and they let me do a half and half of the different meats even though it wasn't on the menu.
Also brought our dog. Good atmosphere. Plan to come back and try other food.
Good location, good food, great atmosphere. Unfortunately our experience was ruined by a loud music duo that made it impossible to communicate without shouting at the top of our lungs. Since everyone was doing it, that only made things louder and more uncomfortable. We would love to come back for another visit but will have to make sure there's no live music first.
We popped in here after a nearby event for some late night food. Best choice ever!
Great atmosphere, attentive service, and best of all, fantastic food! Perfectly cooked calamari, creamy lobster bisque, packed fish tacos, and I finally got to try poutine!
I'd you're looking for some elevated bar food, come here and give it a try!
Pretty good food and we loved the large outdoor seating area. Chill atmosphere and the service was good. The brisket has good flavor, last time I ordered (brisket tacos) it was pretty fatty but I asked for leaner brisket on my benedict and they had no problem accommodating me. The only thing I'd say is that they're maybe a little over priced. That being said, the food is pretty good and was a nice experience for our first time out in a while.
Service and food were top notch.even though our server had trouble with the split check, she made everything fun, I had the fried shrimp and my wife had the hamburger. Both were perfect. I love the crunchy batter and the tender shrimp. The fries were home cut and not oily and lip as is so often the case.
