The Toasted Yolk Cafe- Waco

We were greeted by the owner and seated quickly. Our server was very friendly and efficient. The meals were excellent with only two thoughts.not issues. A small fruit cup was included with each meal, which I like but my husband does not eat fruit. So, he told the owner that they should allow customers to decide about fruit because we know that unwanted food becomes garbage which is both wasting food and money. The other comment is strictly personal because I always hope each new restaurant will serve perfect biscuits. These were better than most.the rest of our breakfast was excellent. It's a modern interior with a popular green for seats and trim. It's comfortable and welcoming. We will definitely return.

This is a nice place for breakfast and lunch. Great menus and a lot to choose from. Very very clean and great help.

It was our first time there and I absolutely loved iy.our waitresses, Ami, was absolutely the best I have ever had anywhere. She made our visit amazing. The food came out in a very timely manner and was good.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Toasted Yolk, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for the afternoon. The food was exceptional and I recommend everyone tries the Toasted Yolk if ever in Waco.

4/5 meals at our table were awesome. (The crepes were weak.) They had some of the best pancakes in town.

9am we get there and seated quickly.
However the waiter was super aggressive. We asjed for a mimosas she stated it was to earlier. They did not serve drinks till 10am. Mind you the time chaged today. We order and it state you can build a plate. Waiter kept saying no you cannot do that.
It was exactly 9: 56 we saw a table behind us get a mimosas (Her table). Within the same minute the waiter gave us our ticket without even asking us if we wanted something else or did we still want a alcohol drink. My friend ask if they were serving a frozen drink she said yes. Another mimosas comes out behind us. 10 minutes later she told my friend they could not do the frozen drink. Ummm I dont think I would ever go back to this establishment.

Didn't and couldn't rate the food if there had been a - it wouldn't have been low enough! Ordered the Cowboy Scramble, first of all it was cold when delivered to our table, the biscuits were hard not fluffy, there was a trace of gravy on it. After reading other reviews, shouldn't have given them a chance!
Can't say enough about our waiter, he had been on the job 3 days and was absolutely beyond fantastic!
The churro donuts were good, but that's all I can say.

The service was very slow. I ordered extra French toast with my breakfast it never came out so I started eating my meal otherwise my food would have been colds which it did get cold. I was very disappointed

Why do you have a phone number online and it's always busy and I mean always. This is such a disappointment!

Good good and service, but could tell some was prepackaged. I asked just for just hash browns, but they only have the hash brown casserole. Luckily the had plenty of alternatives. The inside is nice, but constant barrage of TVs on every wall really takes away. Not sure why this notion of screens on every wall is such a thing, but it makes it hard to visit. And guess it's just normal nowadays for family of four to be $100 after tax and tip. So not casual inexpensive dining. Overall it was good and well be back.

The food did take a little long to come out, but it was Amazing!

It was a little humid out, so a little more A/C would have taken care of that. (But I'm hot-natured anyway, so it could have been just me)

All in all, would go back! Next time, to try some alcohol!

I’ve been here twice and I like the toasted yolk. My first visit I had the yolkwhich with honey mustard dressing and it was so good! Upon my first visit, the waitress we had seemed to have a little attitude, but I didn’t let it bother me. However, my mom and I had some issues with our food and experience during our second visit. I got the toasted yolk coffee. It was a good coffee just a bit bitter because the coffee itself was strong. I would’ve liked it a little sweeter. I got the southern fried Arnold, no gravy, Cholula ranch instead. I also asked for English muffin halves instead of biscuits. It was really good but I was given biscuit halves instead of English muffin halves and my chicken was very spicy. My mom got the shrimp & grits, which we both have had before. The shrimp & grits are really good and I’m not much of a shrimp fan. However, on this recent visit her shrimp & grits were extremely spicy. We never had this issue before until our recent visit. My mom took two bites then she started coughing from how spicy it was. I tried it as well to see how spicy it was and it was very spicy. We both handle spicy foods well but this was extreme. My mom asked if she could get it remade and it was. The same issue happened again when the remake came. Our waitress even said it smelt and looked very spicy. She also said it might’ve been spicy because of the cook they had that morning. Our waitress this visit was very kind and understanding. The manager ended up coming to our table to check on the food and he had a rude attitude. My mom and I ended up sharing a plate of the brisket tacos. Those were delicious! Not spicy at all. I recommend the toasted yolk but this previous visit I had was not a good one, especially for my mom. I hope the next visit is better.

We loved it! The food was wonderful, servers were so nice and helpful! Loved the bloody mary, shrimp and grits and blueberry donuts!

Food is definitely hyped up. No tasted. Hard biscuits, wrong omelet. Waited for 2 hours, It's a no.

It was just ok. We went around 1 on a weekday, and they weren't very busy. Despite this, it still took a good while for our food to come out, and when it did my eggs Benedict was way overcooked. The eggs were basically hard-boiled. The waitress only checked on us once and didn't refill our drinks. Also it took several minutes for the waitress to return with our card once we had paid. The donuts and grits my wife got were good, though. The prices are also pretty high for what you get. Think we'll stick to other breakfast and brunch spots.

So first off, I was on crutches during my visit, I walked into an almost entirely empty restaurant and the hostess seated me in the last booth in the very back of the restaurant! Then proceeded to stare aggressively at me the whole time I was there! What a way to ensure I don't come back. The food was very bland but expensive.

It was my first time! It was great, the whole place was a vibe, except parking! The omelet I had with that green sauce was awesome!
