16Andrew and his team rebuilt the trans in my son’s GMC Sierra previously. The trans started shifting hard so I took it back. They found a leak, replaced the bad seal, and refilled the trans at no cost. The truck is driving great now! Thank you Andrew and Team!
Honest and competent - Had an engine light and 2 other warning lights come on. For $189, Nissan said had 2 accelerator pedal and 2 transmission diagnostic codes, and estimated $5,300 for repairs including transmission rebuild. Took to The Transmission Shop, and after a real diagnosis said it was likely an electrical problem that caused the sensor on the accelerator pedal to fail. No guarantees, but he suggested I take it to AES Plano for a diagnosis. He refused to charge me for the advice. Suffice it to say, AES repaired the car for $4,000 less than the Nissan estimate. Still owe the car a transmission maintenance which will get a The Transmission Shop.
I can add oil, check the tires air pressure and fill a car with gas, but that is it. Andrew took the time to explain to me how and why they were making the recommendations for the transmission. A body shop I trust recommended them and for a good reason. Knock on wood, my Suburban is running great, and it came with a 3-year, 30,000 miles warranty.
Andrew was great.gave me a quote over the phone for repair and actual costs were lower. I expected my vehicle to be in his shop for several days, but was surprised to have it back next day. Highly recommend his shop.
An awesome and honest shop! Mazda dealership told me parts for my transmission were backordered for 3 months. They had my car working as good as new within 3 weeks. I called the shop regularly to check on status of parts on order and the status of the re-build and my calls and questions were always welcomed and the answers explained perfectly so I could understand. I definitely recommend this shop for any transmission issues!
This is an excellent shop with great ratings from the Better Business Bureau. My Rav4 had a check engine light for weeks with codes corresponding to transmission solenoid problems. I replaced two solenoids, a transmission filter and replaced the fluid twice, but the check engine light did not go away. Brought it to The Transmission Shop, they figured damaged parts inside the transmission. Andrew, who is a real great guy, told me he could get the replacement parts, rebuild the transmission and I could get the car back in 5 business days. He also quoted me the cost of the repair. You know what, I got the car back in 5 days as he promised. The price quoted was the amount I paid for the repair. The check engine light was gone and the car is running very good with a 36 months/36,000 miles warranty, whichever comes first.
Brought in an older vehicle another shop wouldn't touch. They spent time to find the parts and work through all of the other issues that wound up being there. Took some time but parts were scarce so completely understandable, and car drove great afterwards.
If you're looking for an HONEST & KNOWLEDGEABLE Transmission shop, then THIS is the place to go. Told me what the problem was. It wasn't my Transmission, but my motor mount causing a hard shift from low gear to 2nd gear. Very prompt, courteous & professional group of guys. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this shop.
They did a great job. They were really good at letting me know what was wrong and what needed to be done. I am very happy with the way that the service was performed.
This review is long overdue. I had my transmission replaced at the McKinney location. The dealership quoted me double of what I paid for the repair. It has been approximately eight months since the work was done and have not had an issue. I recommend this shop for all of your transmission needs. In my case however, it was about three weeks before I got my vehicle back, so make other arrangements if possible.
I would definitely use this shop again and I would recommend them to my friends and family. Thank you for a job well done!
Beware! The Transmission Shop in McKinney may do good work, but don’t expect cooperation when there is an issue with their work. The Manager (Andrew) wanted me to leave my vehicle for a week to explore the issue I had with their work. When I took it elsewhere, the mechanic discovered that one of the spark plugs was not tightened. Andrew could not have cared less.
Fast friendly service. Had to get my transmission serviced and they were able to get the replacement parts in just a few days and have me back on the road within a week. Great follow up and knowledgeable staff.
Andrew and his team did a great job! So far so good.rebuilt a 97 transmission and fixed a oil pan leak in the process for free.
Andrew addressed our transmission needs thoroughly, in addition noticed other issues with cracked engine mount, and leaks around the transfer case. With this vehicle meeting needs to help elderly, he met those needs and honors a 3 year warranty, not 3 months or 1 year that some only offer. Thanks Andrew!

People tend to be nervous about having Transmission issues. This is why anyone should come here where honesty and integrity are the main focus. Andrew knows everything about rolling out the Red Carpet Treatment and as not only I have experienced it, I also noticed 2 additional customers experience this. Than you to the owners for having a reliable place to do business. Just my grateful 2 cents.
