Thien An Sandwiches reviews
19The best Ban Xeo I have had in Houston. Large, crispy, great taste, fair price. Wish they later opening hours as it's hard to make it here after work.
The pho broth is very light, not heavy or very sweet. It has just the right touch of season. The egg roll have a different wrap compare to other restaurant I have been too. Not too crispy. The Fried rice is on point. Not dark but very light. Not sticky and it is the small rice. The lighting is kind of dim. But overall good price for the food
I was told once that you should judge Pho by its broth and now I know what they mean. Excellent! All Pho will now be judge by how it’s compares to this.
Picked up catering for a work lunch celebrating Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month for about 60 or so people, and everything was great! I ordered a lot of various bahn mi sandwiches, a large tray of fried pork egg rolls, trays of various spring rolls and everything was packed neatly in trays. Many people commented that everything was delicious!
We visited downtown Houston and craving for Banh Mi, founded this place on Google with good reviews. We ordered 4 Banh Mi and a drink for togo (with TIP of course!) then we changed our mind since we have to wait for friends come to join also. I asked cashier that if we can sit here to eat these Banh Mi, he said: "no you can't, if you ordered for togo then you have to leave". Customers service totally RIDICULOUS! I want to show my friends about Vietnamese authentic food but this place make me fell so embarrassed in front of friends.
Food: OK 5/10 (the Banh Mi has no flavor)
Customers Service: 0/10
Price: OK
Picked up some banh mi sandwiches here yesterday, and they were delicious! Close to home and I don't have to drive all the way across town for banh mi! Thank you and will be back soon!
First time eating at this establishment, it was absolutely deelicious! Food was fresh, hot and so tasty! Service was awesome.
I was surprised at how expensive the sandwiches were, but I hadn’t had a Banh mi in a while. I specifically ordered very spicy, and when si opened up my sandwich ten minutes later it was cold and not at all spicy. In fact they were tasteless sandwiches. I shall not return and I couldn’t refer anyone to that establishment either
Thien An was ironically out of sandwiches (banh mi) when we visited. It was OK with us really because we came there to get one of their real show stopper Vietnamese dishes, Banh Xeo. Service was a bit busy but we got our order in good timing. One thing I wish the business would invest in would be to refinish the table tops. The tables there have been wiped down with a cleaner that caused them to feel slightly sticky to the touch.
Bigger inside space than expected.serving size was decent.however, not the best avocado smoothie i’ve had compare to other places.
I love this place! Such a sweet family and they make the best Báhn mí in town! Great service every time, prices are not too bad. I'll be back again and again and again.
Im visiting houston for a vocation. I stop Thien An sandwich to get some lunch with my family. This place is amazing. Verry good food and service nice
Hands down the best Vietnamese restaurant in Midtown. They've been around since the early 90s, originally in the building where the Rise Rooftop bar now stands. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu, really. My personal go to favorite is the Com Dau Hu Luc Lac dish (rice with wok seared tofu cubes). Other favorites include the beef version, banh xeo (Vietnamese crepe), pho, and banh mi. Service is fast. The staff is friendly. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend!
As far as midtown goes, this is as good as you can get when it comes to authentic Vietnamese food. They have a huge menu. The service is great.
I do have one complaint however. THE TIPPING FATIGUE IS REAL AT THIS PLACE.the price is a little high, which I understand, but I don't appreciate how you're kinda forced to tip when paying with CC. I always tip when dine in, but I don't always tip when I order takeout, especially when the food costs $30 for 2 items already.the screen doesn't even have a "no tip" option.you have to choose "other amount" and enter the amount you want, which most people won't be bothered enough to do, so they just tip. I guess that's the strategy?
Very traditional Viet restaurant. Pho portion is large and very filling. Broth is closer to traditional than most other places.
Came here based off of my husband and his coworkers recommendations. Sadly, I didn't have the greatest experience with the staff or the food. We came in at 5: 30 and they close at 6 so we were told our food would have to be to-go. We didn't mind so we ordered our food and waited. About ten minutes later the guy who took our order sets food down on the counter near us but was on the phone and walked away. We wanted to be sure it was our food so we did our best to try and flag him down to ask but he went to the back. We waited a little bit for when he came back to the front and then he confirmed it was our food. I ordered the spring rolls and chicken banh mi with a fried egg. The Bahn mi had lots of room for improvement, there was no flavor, not even the veggies had flavor. The egg was really fried hard and oily. The best part of my meal by far was the spring rolls. They were fresh, shrimp was perfectly cooked and I really enjoyed the basil inside.
Excellent food, fast service, and more than reasonable price. One of the best banh mi's in town and both the spring & egg rolls were great. 10/10 would eat here again
This is a Vietnamese restaurant sitting in midtown. The parking spaces are sufficient. The restaurant feels very spacious. You can find very good Vietnamese sandwiches and noodles on the menu. I like their duck noodles and sandwiches. The price is reasonable.
Loved this no frills restaurant. It has a diner feel but the food was better than diner quality. We enjoyed their Bahn Xeo and Bun Bo Hue. Their Duck Salad was also really tasty with lean and tender meat and a mountain of cabbage. Highly recommend!
