Thim Hing reviews
11I use to really like this place. I stopped by for a xiu mai (meatball) sandwich. Barely any meatballs in it. I spend nearly $5 for mostly just bread and vegetables.
We ordered 20 banh mi dac biet and were pretty disappointed. They were ok but just didn’t taste good. It didn’t have much flavor. I’ve had amazing banh mi where you can taste the butter and pate and the meats had flavor. These just didn’t have any of that. They don’t give you any daikon either, only pickled carrots and greens. Wouldn’t recommend. Terrible quality for Houston.
This is the first time I tried the sandwich here. I ordered 10 "Vietnamese "combination sandwiches. VERY disappointed, I wasted my money, the sandwich come with 3 pieces of vietnamese ham and literally 3 pieces "American ham" and piece of Pâte. See my picture. The food will go to trash.
Buy 10 banh mi get 1 free. $4.25 for large sandwich, Their bread is thin and crunchy, the meat is less quantity from other stores, but overall consistent and affordable food. Fast service.
Yep, I've lived in Houston for a while now and always wanted to try another banh mi place on Bellaire other than Don's, but was always afraid to. I'm glad I did on my cousin's recommendation. This bread is by and far the most uniquely toasted bread anywhere. I've had banh mi in Saigon, Paris, Cali, Virginia, and other places. It's like they toasted it in a brick or stone oven resulting in small toasty bumps on the bread that gives it that extra pop. It's very affordable but the meat is skimpy. I'd definitely would order extra meat. Overall, great experience and possibly a little better than other competitors on the street.
They charged $1.50 for extra pate (2 little tiny bit sticks that barely tasted like pate) this place used to be an ok spot to get vietnamese sandwiches. Now, those are pricey and tasteless
The French bread is very fresh and perfect. The Banh Mi was very small and with hardly any thing in it. The parking is horrible and small and of course if you're Not Vietnamese you're not going to be treated well, all of this Restaurants lack customer service.
Earliest open.early good grub. Noodles, soup, rice, bread, meat, coffee, and bread. All good! & bread!
This is my first time eating at this new location after they moved from Boone and Bellaire. The prices are a little higher. 4 sandwiches will cost you twenty dollars. They have buy 10 get 1 sandwich free. But since it's only two of us, we ordered just four sandwiches. To me this place has the special signature meatballs. So it's a must get. Their grilled meat is thin and soft not thick and tough like other places. Witha touch of the egg it is delicious combined taste popping.
Thim Hing used to be one of my favorite Banh Mi sandwiches places to go to, but over the last several years, it hasn't been that great. Even though they are now located in a nicer location, their sandwiches are lack luster. You can tell they cut corner on their sandwiches by putting less meats and veggies. Bread is still good, but overall, the lack of attentions to details are long gone including customer services.
I ordered combination sandwich but end up with chicken sandwich. I come back to get me a new sandwich but the owner said **NO** and if i want another sandwich i have to pay for it.will never come back here again
