Dr Raquel B. Kirwin of Tierra Este Family Dentistry takes the position that you are not entitled to receive any Dental Care if you do not agree to "add-on" procedures or exams that your insurance will not cover.

Dr. Kirwin is the best dentist I’ve ever seen. She’s thoughtful, gentle, and explains everything very thoroughly. She’s honest about the work she does, risks involved, and expected outcome. I’d recommend her to anyone!

Best experience at a dentist I have ever had! I really enjoyed going to see the dentist, which is something I never thought I would say. Everyone is so nice and very informative. They walk you through every step of your appointment and explain everything that they are doing and what l work you need to get done. I highly recommend making them your dentist!

The staff, hygienist and dentist treat you like family. Great place to go for dental care.

This is a very friendly office who care about your teeth and your comfort. I’ve moved a lot the last 25yrs and have been to a lot of different dentists. This is the first one I’ll actually miss when I move again!

Let me began this review by stating that I’m one of those strange fruit that actually like going to the dentist ha. Nonetheless, I have been to a couple here in East El Paso (they’ll remain nameless), that have not been satisfactory in my book.

Dr. Kirwin is so awesome. She has excellent bedside manner, is extremely thorough and highly professional. You can tell she takes great pride in her work, and for that I am so grateful!

The office staff is also very accommodating and courteous. They knew of my day of preference for appointments and would give me a call if there was a cancellation. Little gestures like that are breath of fresh air!

I recently got a filling and a crown done. My new crown has me feeling like royalty! See what I did there? No seriously though, the fit and color match are perfect, and the timing it took to come in was so quick! I will be coming back here for any further treatment and cleanings.

I recently scheduled an appointment for my husband as well. He hasn’t had the best dental experiences, but I have high hopes that we finally found a match for our family! Yay! Highly recommended.

Don’t go to this place! They are going to steal your money with their lies!

Went in for a cleaning and ended up with a crown because dentist falsely diagnosed with a cavity (my guess is insurance fraud) and failed to conduct proper filler. I had never had any issues with my teeth prior to coming here.

If you get diagnosed with anything here get a second opinion

Dr. Kirwin is the best! Her knowledge and experience always put me at ease. The procedures I’ve had done with her have been painless and smooth. She’s also very kind and always makes it a point to remember you and your family/friends. I definitely recommend her as a dentist. The staff is also nice and respectful.

Dr. Kirwin and her staff are exceptional. I had my first dentist appointment as a new patient at Tierra Este Family Dentistry today October 10,2023. The entire staff was genuinely attentive and professional. I was very pleased with the level of care I received. I look forward to my next dental cleaning in 6 months.

I contacted this office based on an existing patient’s referral. This was Sept. 13,2023. I received a text to complete new patient paperwork via the link. I completed the paperwork. I received another text on the 14th of September to complete the paperwork. Another text message on Oct. 4 to confirm my Oct. 11th appt. - I did confirm. I also received a phone call on the day of the appt to confirm. I did. So it was a surprise when I was told that the office did not have my information and that they will resend the paperwork again. No problem it’s the morning of my appointment and my appointment is late afternoon. So I get to the office - yes, they have to call the insurance to verify everything so this takes some time- no problem. I call the insurance as well. Insurance stated I needed a pre-approval to be seen. Ok, the dental office offered a new patient special, okay let’s do that. Now there’s a problem, because I had insurance issues, the time took away from my appointment and the Hygienist would more than likely not be able to do my cleaning, so I would have to make another appointment to get my cleaning. That’s a problem- I am leaving the area and not coming back. Let’s do a workaround- let’s do the cleaning first and let the Hygienist leave and we can do the X-rays and exam after the cleaning. Oh no, they only do X-rays first and the cleaning afterwards. Ok, well here’s another workaround- let’s do the X-rays and then have the highly credentialed and certificate laden Dentist do my cleaning. Oh, the Dentist doesn’t do cleanings. Ok, can you ask if she would, because again, I am not and cannot come back, so could you ask? With that question posed and not relayed to the Dentist, the receptionist stated it would be best that I not be seen at this office.

This encounter really disappointed me because I am a Dentist and have been for the past 23years. I am a Dentist (LTC-P) in the U. S. Army Reserves and have been for the past 17 years. I am on Active Duty orders and our Unit ToA is what-tomorrow! I am disappointed because it was a fellow soldier that recommended me to this office based on their experience and satisfaction of treatment received, and so I had higher expectations of the type of treatment that patient-soldiers would receive. Especially since the office presented itself as familiar with working with soldiers, our insurance and presented themselves as worldly and sophisticated. I am from New York City and my office is in Midtown Manhattan where I have been for the last 14years. I have learned to appreciate my patients as they have supported me when I am away for months on end doing service for our country to ensure freedom and democracy and the right to choose remain a right for all. With that, I wish this office well.
