Tipster Free Walking Tours of Austin reviews
18We’re from Canada and had an amazing time exploring Austin. We really appreciated Laura’s fun, easy-going, and informative personality as she guided us through the streets of Austin. She was full of fun facts, and kept things very entertaining for all of us, (aged two years old to 62 years old).
Laura was fantastic! Great energy and very knowledgeable of Texas history. Highly recommend!
Highly recommend Tipster’s free Austin walking tours, they currently offer 3 tours: Downtown, Art (street art on East 6th) and Music.
I did the Downtown tour and then returned for the art tour - both were fantastic and very different so it’s worth it to do more than one tour. I would have done the music one too if I didn’t run out of time! Laura is so knowledgeable and basically helped me build the to do list for my trip - BBQ, live music, places to wander, and bars.
Laura is awesome. Knowledgeable, friendly, and a great way to spend 90 minutes getting your bearings in the city.
Laura is a fantastic guide, she is an insider of the music community. I recommend you take her tour first thing when you arrive because she is going to fill your evenings with great suggestions!
A wonderful tour of what Austin is famous for: music!
Laura knows her city really well, its music scene even better, and she has the voice of an angel. A must do tour while in Austin.
We enjoyed an informative and fun walking tour with our guide Laura! We highly recommend this tour and our tour guide Laura! Rob and Lorrie
My wife and I had 2 tours with Laura in one day and loved them both. Very informative and quite entertaining.
Informative and fun walking tour with
Luke. Lots of history and good recommendations for the area. Followed his recommendations to street tacos and enjoyed the food.
Laura was an awesome tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and engaging. She was very effective in connecting the street art to the history and culture of East Austin — and its recent gentrification. My only regret was not doing this tour earlier in our stay.
Laura was a wonderful tour guide! We did a walking tour of Austin at 9: 45 on a Saturday morning and she was informative, funny, and an all around great person to be around! She had answers to every question and more resources and tips at the finish! Definitely recommend
Laura gave a very interesting tour of East Austin. Laura is very personable. She graciously answered all questions, both about the places on the tour, and anything else we wanted to know about Austin. She is enthusiastic and curious about the city that she now calls home.
She has a masters in ethnomusicology, and while the tour was focused on art, she effectively drew on her knowledge of the features of the street art and the artists, the history of the neighborhood, and the various tensions created by growth and gentrification to share insights and perspectives on Austin that went well beyond what one might learn on a typical walking tour. Highly recommended!
Great Tour. Laura is very knowledgeable and makes the tour fun. It's a short walking distance and the perfect amount of time. Highly recommend. I want to take one of the other tours when I'm in Austin next time!
Shoutout to Laura who was super energetic and very thorough with Austin’s history and facts. A must if you visit Austin to get a feel of the city!
Laura and Luke host engaging, informative and entertaining walking tours. Tipster are our go to for corporate and private groups.
Laura was a super friendly and informative guide and provided us with some great insider knowledge, good tips and a solid overview of downtown, it's history and the musical venues. We did both the downtown, and the music tours, and really enjoyed both. We found it helped us add a bit of structure to our day, helping us decide where to go and what / who to see (there's so much choice!). I really wanted to experience a Honky tonk bar, and Laura recommended a place - this ended up being one of our favourite evenings!
Thanks Laura!
My wife and I were in Austin for a couple of days and decided to take the walking tour with Laura
The tour was really informative with lots of history and lots of fun facts of Austin
We highly recommend this tour
