Today's Dentistry Galveston

Your office scheduled me for the wrong procedure with the wrong doctor. I specifically asked for Dr. Truong because he was listed by my insurance, and as such, I had researched him and found him to have good references. I'm a nurse, and I've learned that there are good doctors and bad doctors. I don't just see anyone without researching them first. When I arrived, I was seen by Dr. Tillman, who was very nice and professional, but completely unknown to me, which I did not like. I took the day off work for a check-up and a cleaning. I was never asked why I was there. I specified the reason when I made the appointment. I have had zero pain or complaints about my teeth. The person who took x-rays of my mouth had to take and retake several angles two or three times. All in all, I received around 18 x-rays of my mouth! That's completely unacceptable. The doctor told me I had a dislodged filling, but that my teeth and gums were completely healthy. There was no abscess. And yet, he wanted to upsell me to do a root canal for over $3000 that would have cost me over $2200 after my insurance. I declined. I stated I was having no issues at this time and I just wanted a cleaning. That's when I was informed that the person who scheduled me for my appointment didn't schedule me for a cleaning. They only scheduled me for a check-up. Apparently, your office was able to make time for a previously unscheduled root canal, but not for a cleaning. (I guess you'll drop everything to make the big bucks.) I was told that I could come back on Friday for a cleaning. I informed your staff that I could not do so, as I had already taken the day off work for a cleaning and sacrificed hundreds of dollars in lost wages in order to do so. You informed me that it wasn't your fault, that the woman who had made the appointment no longer worked there. It sounded like she had been fired. For me, that means nothing. All I know is that I lost an entire day's wages, got exposed to unnecessarily high amounts of radiation, and still never got my teeth cleaned. I think you are a horribly run business, that your staff is completely incompetent, and I can't wait to share this opinion on Google and with all of my coworkers. You people are pathetic, and I hope you go out of business. People and offices like YOU are the reason why healthcare sucks in this country. I've been a travel nurse for over 8 years. I've gone to dentists and doctors all over the country. You are by far the worst dental office I have ever experienced.

The front desk staff and dental hygienist was very nice and helpful. The hygienist showed me in depth scans of my teeth and made sure to go over the scans with me.

We have been going here for about three years but recently there has been changes in management. The service has degraded.
My parents recently went for a cleaning and the hygienist did not take her time and did not even do a full cleaning. In addition, the new doctor did not embodied the culture displayed by Dr. Truong, Dr. Carrol, and Dr. Peng. Maybe he was a temporary doctor but if so, the doctors should be aware of who they are bringing in.

Dr. Tillman and company are a very good team. I live in Stafford now and still come all the way here. Trust me, pick this place for your next visit.
