We used to come here frequently for the past 4 years and they had great service and food. However, the past few times, it took them over 30 mins to take our order. Last time, we waited in line for the table, they gave us a table and then kicked us out saying, “they have other customers. ” If that’s how they treat frequent customers, no wonder they don’t have people come back.
Wouldn’t recommend.

We used to go to Tofu Village often before we were out of the country for 1 year and loved it. We were excited to go back, but something changed. It took a long time to get the side dishes, nobody asked if we want refills, and the food was not as tasty. We will need to find another Korean place.

Food is amazing, my go to korean food place. Only thing is it’s a little pricey but yummy. I love their japchae and bbq beef. Ban chan is good too.

Loved my meal here. The tofu soup (s) are really good and the portions including banchan are very generous! Spice options are also customizable.

Disappointing Experience with Unhonored Reservation

I recently had an unfortunate dining experience at Tofu Village Despite making a reservation well in advance, my party and I arrived to find that our reservation wasn't honored, leaving us without a table.
The lack of accommodation was disheartening, and the service we received in addressing the issue was equally disappointing. The staff seemed unapologetic and failed to offer any viable solutions, leaving us with a sour impression of the establishment.
In addition to the inconvenience of not having a reserved table, the overall service was subpar. The staff's attitude and the handling of the situation overshadowed any potential positives the restaurant may have had.
I hope this feedback serves as a constructive point for improvement, as a seamless dining experience should be a priority for any reputable establishment.

The new young lady who greets the customer and assign seat was very rude. I will not come back because of her attitude towards the customer.

Reservation Nightmare and Service from Hell

I recently had the misfortune of attempting to dine at [Restaurant Name], and the experience was nothing short of a disaster from start to finish.
To begin with, I had made a reservation well in advance for a special occasion. However, upon arriving at the restaurant, it became painfully clear that my reservation was utterly disregarded. The host seemed oblivious to our reservation and had a "take it or leave it" attitude, claiming they were too busy to honor it. What's the point of having a reservation system if the restaurant can't be bothered to respect it?

He perfect place for authentic Korean food! Everything that I have tried here is very good. I came with some friends and it was my first time at a Korean restaurant and I was so pleased with the food and the service that I went back the next day! The staff is very nice and they help you if you are new and need some guidance. It’s a very interesting experience because they bring all these small plates to share and you can eat from there or add to your food. The soup is very very good, they have several options of protein and also they have options from non-spicy to extra-spicy and they don’t play games here with that so be aware!
They serve the food really fast even when they are busy and I loved that and everything tastes very fresh.
I tried the second time I went the seafood pancake, and loooved it! A very different concept but worth it! I want to bring my family, this kind of food is meant to be shared so it’s perfect for a group of friends or a family time

My recent experience at this restaurant was quite disappointing. Despite making a reservation, there was no table available upon our arrival. The service was equally disappointing, characterized by inefficiency and a lack of attentiveness. I hope the restaurant addresses these issues for a better customer experience in the future.

All of the staff is so friendly, and most importantly the food is amazing. Short ribs, spicy pork, and small intestine tofu soup are my go to orders. Also don't forget to order the seafood pancake it is very crispy and delicious!

This place deserves zero star. Everything went to the bottom compared to before Covid. Price has increased 20% but they now use the lowest quality food. The beef and shrimp tasted spoiled and bad. I understand Korean is salty but the side dishes are so salty it is impossible to eat. I spit them out. The restrooms are small and very dirty. Services are very bad too. There are many Korean restaurants around town. Save yourself don’t come here. You’re warned.

I have been coming to this for their authentic Korean cuisines and I am telling you that the food was delicious. I had ordered the seafood pancakes. As I was eating I noticed a bug in the pancake and it was a little roach. I had told the server about it and he went to go get the manager. Basically the manager said that I was seeing this and wouldn’t even refund my money. He also told me that I should get my eyes checked. I have 20/20 vision. No point did I speak to him rudely all I asked was for a refund and he refused, didn’t even offer to get a new plate

Basically me and mom went there for a little brunch and we had fish, tofu soup, baby dumplings, beef short ribs and other side dishes but anyway the food was delicious and I like how they were playing some pop music in the back they also treat there costumer good and when you are done with food they will give you a yogurt drink to wash it down and it's very good to take people there just like when my mom and sister went there without me.

My family and I searched for an authentic Korean restaurant, and this one definitely qualifies! Really authentic and delicious food. The service could be better.

I absolutely love this place. I come here all the time with large groups and never have any problems. The food is amazing and always comes out quickly. I highly recommend the spicy pork, bulgogi, tteokboki, pork katsu, and jjangmyeon. Also, you get a yakult at the end of the meal which is awesome.

Edit: 11/25/23 Still just as awesome, even on a black Friday we were served almost instantly.

Pleasant surprise. Family of 4 very first time Friday night April 28,2023. I'm mixed Korean/Irish. Grew up eating lots of Korean food. Looking through the windows it was packed. I thought it must be a good place to eat. All the foods were very tasty. We had the bulgogi beef combo, tofu kimchi soup which normally I don't like tofu at all. However, the way it was made for some reason I gobbled it up. One other review said it was all FREE (confirmed) refills on the condiments which had my curiosity peaked. Tasty and nothing was oddly flavored! The potato kimchi was a different spin which I've never had. Well earned 5s. We will be back and Highly Recommend!

Ordered seafood tofu soup and seafood pancake. The portion was huge, and their were a lot of side dishes (which is great). The taste was okay, not too surprising.

It is a good place to have the Korean cuisine experience. I enjoyed the soup very much. The soup was delicious and full of flavor. I also like the extra trimmings such as kimchi, tofu, vegetables, bean sprouts, etc.

Going to Tofu Village was the best idea we have ever had! As we walked into Tofu Village, we were not only greeted by the fresh aroma of Korean food, but we were also greeted by warm smiles and a welcoming environment. My friends and I were astounded by the numerous options they had available on their menu, especially the vegetarian options!

We ordered mushroom tofu soup, rice cake and beef tofu soup. Though we had to wait around ten minutes to get our food, we were surprised by the quantity that we got. There were about 8 side dishes along with our meal, which were refillable! The side dishes included kimchi (fermented cabbage), block kimchi, potatoes marinated in a paste, fish cake, Chinese broccoli, marinated cucumber, boiled bean sprouts and ham. The staff at Tofu Village gave all three of us a wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in, to the time when we had to pay, the quality of the service did not fail to disappoint. Though the drive from Sugarland to Chinatown is quite long, we would not hesitate to come here again for a warm and hearty meal. We hope this restaurant continues to stay up to its high standards and gives you the wonderful experience we had!
