Towne Center Animal Hospital and Pet Hotel, Colleyville TX

The new facility is awesome.so is the staff. The dr took his time with us explain what was going on with Otis.

I can’t say enough good things about this animal hospital. The staff is always extremely helpful and friendly, the dr takes his time with each appointment and answers all my questions. I’ve been bringing my Lab here since he was 8 weeks old and he’s approaching 5 years old. When I adopted my Husky/Shepard from SPCA, she had heart worms, her surgical incision from being spayed was infected, and she was very underweight. Dr Johnston prescribed her treatment plan and she’s 100% healthy now. I’ll never trust my dogs with any other place.

Many, many thanks to you for your kindness and compassion after our dog passed away on Thanksgiving morning. You took care of us when we needed it and I’m thankful for you being in our community.

What a wonderful, clean office with very friendly people! Dr. Johnston is very kind and knowledgeable and explains everything so well about our Corgi’s health and goals to staying healthy. What a relief to know our puppy is in good hands!

It is hard to put into words the feelings of comfort that this place gives you. Putting a pup to sleep is not easy. It was my first time, after 16 beautiful years it was finally time. Let me tell you, there will be no better place for you and your baby. They explained the process from beginning to end. Let me lead as to when I was ready, gave us all the time to say good bye. I never once felt rushed or uncomfortable even tho I was a hot mess of tears. You can tell every person in that office loves what they do and genuinely wants to help your baby. If you need a vet I wouldn’t think twice, the care here is phenomenal.

Our rescue dog Chica was going to be put down by another vet so we decided to go to Dr. Johnston for his opinion. It turns out that she was not spayed and needed an emergency hysterectomy due to an infection in her uterus. He saved her life. My daughter is so grateful. Thank you Dr. Johnston.

I called to see what tests were available for my kitten who recently tested positive for Feline Leukemia Virus. I’ve been really heartbroken and was recommended by a previous vet to retest so was calling around to find a decent price. Brandi was put on the phone and told me, very rudely, that there was no point in testing again, that it was incurable, and that he’d have it forever, which I’m well aware of. She seemed to take a bit of pleasure in telling me that and was annoyed that I even asked, assuming I was in denial. My family has taken all of our pets here for over 18 years. I don’t know what’s been going on recently with the staff. We had to put our cat down this year and took her here. As we were crying saying our goodbyes, someone walked in and asked for our credit card information before she was even put to sleep. It was extremely callous and almost comical to have someone ask you for a credit card as you’re heaving, sobbing holding your beloved pet. Could you not wait until we calmed down? You typically pay on your way out at the vet. It’s not like we haven’t given them literally thousands of dollars over the years. I wasn’t going to post this because I don’t think that’s productive and I didn’t want anyone to get in trouble but jesus. People should know what they’re signing up for whenever they come here. For the ridiculous price you pay to come here, I would like to be treated with humanity.

EDIT: I spoke with Dr Johnston on the phone about this situation. He seemed to feel that it did not happen, that Brandi is incapable of being rude or callous, and insinuated that she would never do such a thing. While I can see how this may be concerning to hear about an employee, I wouldn’t leave a review for no reason. I understand he feels obligated to defend his employee and he did apologize. It just felt weird being told in the same sentence that it doesn’t sound like her, she wouldn’t do that, etc. People have bad days. People get burnt out. You don’t take it out on your customers, though. If you want to avoid this experience, I recommend Boulevard Animal Hospital in Colleyville. I was recommended there by a friend and have been so grateful for their customer service and support.

They are the most amazing veterinarian and staff! We have been taking our furry loved ones to Towne Center Animal Hospital since 2004. Earlier this month, we had to euthanize our 13 1/2 year old cat because he had acute kidney failure, but Dr. Johnston and his staff were so comforting. This is a letter I will be sending them in gratitude for all they did for Igby while he was alive and all they have done for my family since he passed away.

Dear Dr. Johnston & staff,

I can’t express how grateful I am to you for your care of Igby, your sympathy card and your donation to Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences in memory of him. I still think of him everyday.

I am pleased to tell you that in May, we plan to adopt a kitten AND puppy. I truly cannot wait.

Update (10/18/23) about their new hotel:

Towne Center has recently added boarding to their services about which I was thrilled. I called to make a reservation for 1 dog on Friday. He was to be boarded 10/18-10/20. I was told that it was no problem and that I’d get a confirmation email that day. I received nothing that day and they’re closed on weekends (at least the hospital is) and I don’t have a separate number for the hotel. So I called Monday to ask again for a confirmation email. I was told that they sent it to my husband since he is the one who usually takes our dog to the bet there. But my husband hadn’t received anything; I had already asked him. During that same phone call, the woman then says that it takes 48 hours to get the confirmation email so I should get it Monday night. Whether or not she was including Saturday and Sunday in that 48 hours, that doesn’t make any sense. It’s either over 72 hours (I made the reservation Friday afternoon) or less than 24 hours. Anyway, Monday night comes and goes and we still didn’t receive anything. So my husband called them Tuesday and they said they couldn’t do an email because their facility is new and they just don’t have that capability yet so they’d send a text. They never sent that either. This morning (the morning of my trip!), I take my dog and his belongings over there and ask to speak to a manager. Katy tells me the manager is out for the day. I explain the whole ordeal to Katy who is very apologetic but insists they still can’t give me a confirmation email, text, print out, NOTHING. I have never made a reservation (restaurant, hotel, flight, AirBnB etc.) and not received a confirmation. I require documentation in case something happens to my dog while he’s in their care. And it’s quite reasonable for me to ask for that. If they had told me on Friday that I would never get a confirmation because they are currently unable to provide one, I wouldn’t be leaving this review, they wouldn’t have wasted my time and I would give them another shot when their system is fully functional. But instead they lied to me on Friday, Monday and Tuesday. We had to cancel our trip as it was too late to find an alternate place. Thank you for the colossal waste of time and horrific customer service, Towne Center Animal hotel. You get ZERO star.

This VET was referred to me by a friend. Took my dog for his first visit and was so pleased. ALL staff is professional and friendly. Dr. Johnston took the time to get down on the floor and get to know my pet. Gave him a full exam and explained everything to me about my pet. I found Dr. Johnston to be very knowledgeable and respectful of my pet. The facility was beautiful and clean and welcoming. I am so glad to have found a VET that is family owned, reliable and cares about their clients.

They are absolutely amazing, caring and accommodating. From the moment we walked in, they greeted us with a smile & were very helpful. They were able to provide a same day last minute appointment which was so refreshing. That doesn’t happen very often in Veterinary hospitals. I highly recommend them for all your pet needs.

Towne has been Obi's vet since he was a baby, he will be 3 years old next month. Professional, let's us come in just to weigh him and is always soo nice.

Towne Center Animal Hospital is a great place. We have 2 dogs and have been going there since they started. Our pets receive excellent care and love at each visit. I highly recommend Dr Johnston and his practice. He is very knowledgeable and his satff is excellent

Dr. Johnston is amazing at what he does and very compassionate as well. Its not about the money here, they truly care. And katy the receptionist, is very sweet and caring! An amazing staff.
