Trendy Dumpling reviews
17We've been quite a few times and keep coming back. Love the soup dumplings, noodle dishes are great as well
Don’t be fooled by the reviews. People are only giving high reviews to get $$$ off their receipt. The place was very nicely decorated and the vibes inside were amazing. The service was okay. Just what you’d expect at any restaurant.
Now, the food. That was our biggest downside. I’m from College Station, so naturally our food there is already very mid/low quality. I was expecting incredibly good dumplings but honestly, they had no flavor. Yeah, they were good but that’s it. The fried rice was meh, and the hot&sour soup was incredibly gelatinous and not even hot. The texture of it was not right.
Good impressions upon walking in but left disappointed.
They have shared tips amongst the servers so we had many, nice servers attending to us. The service was so fast and the food came out quickly too. It was sooooo good. I thought the biang biang noodles were going to be too spicy but they weren't at all! It was perfect!
The food was delicious and service was great. I would highly recommend the soup dumplings!
I recently dined at Trendy Dumpling, and it was an exceptional experience. The food was nothing short of amazing. The staff was not only friendly but also highly professional, making the overall dining experience a true delight. From start to finish, Trendy Dumpling delivered on taste, service, and ambiance. Highly recommended!
I was let down after they truly served me the blandest plate of Kung Pao chicken I have ever tried. This is the first time I have ever left a plate of Kung Pao unfinished (nearly half my plate!) ; the meat quality progressively became unbearably hard to ignore. Very spongy and tough texture and it honestly grossed me out. I would literally give the flavor and texture maybe 2/10. Even so, I still decided to give them a second chance to redeem themselves by ordering the chicken dumplings. Especially considering the entire place is named after their dumplings, it surprised me how vastly unimpressive they were. Not great, not awful. Purely mid. Servers seemed friendly enough, but mine had a bit of trouble understanding some of my requests/questions, to the point where I just shrugged it off and said nevermind.
Oh also my girlfriend's veggie dumplings were so bad she had to send them back, and I have never seen her do that in the two years we've been together. But at least they were nice enough to refund it.
Okay… if you’re looking for an authentic hand pulled noodle and hand made dumpling this is the spot.
The quality and flavors were incredible.
Get the dumplings or the wide noodles, everything else you can get anywhere else.
Everyone is nice and the food was yummy, although my sister said the food isn’t spicy even with the sign. The chocolate dumplings have Lindor chocolates inside.
Me and my friend absolutely love this place. Our order was taken and food served promptly. Everything was so flavorful. We had leftovers for 2 days. Can't wait to.go back to Houston to eat here again.
The food is always so good when we come here! Will keep coming back for the soup dumplings, hot and spicy dumplings, spicy dry chicken cube and biang biang noodles!
There is not too much people but their food come toooooo slow, I wait for 10 mins for the next after I finished every dish. Their food not worth the price.
Very nice and kind of cozy place. The food was delicious- we've tried different kind of baos and dumplings. The hot&spicy dumplings were my favorite. But the other mains, which went out of the kitchen looked temping, too. Next time!
This was my first time trying out a dumpling restaurant and overall it was pretty good. My favorite was the pan fried chicken dumplings and the spicy pork dumplings.
This place has probably been one of the nicest yet casual restaurants I’ve been to.
I tried a bunch of food for the first time and the flavors were interesting and not lacking. The lighting is warm and the atmosphere is relaxing. They have some really neat art pieces too.
Oddly enough, I liked their ladies’ bathroom too because the doors aren’t the normally see-through stalls, so that was pleasant.
I’d definitely tell you to give it a go, I can’t imagine anyone regretting it.
Trendy Dumpling has absolutely amazing food. If you love Sichuan-style food, you’ll find all the staples here.
My personal favorites are the mapo tofu fish, the amazing spicy shrimp, and the fried veggie dumplings. The portions are huge and everything is so flavorful. I have to especially point out that the quality of the fish and shrimp in the dishes is outstanding. I’m pretty picky about the freshness of my seafood, but I can never find a fault here. They use some of the freshest quality seafood and you can taste it.
I also liked their soup dumplings and the spicy cubed crispy chicken, but the seafood dishes always steal the show for me. Do yourself a favor and come here!
So we went to Trendy Dumpling this week for dinner and we had a good time. For starters we ordered Cristal Dumplings, fried Button Bao and the Hot and Spicy Dumplings. As the main course we ordered Peking Duck, Dan Dan Noodles, Cubed Szchuen Chicken and the Salt and Pepper Shrimp. All the dim sum appetizers were fantastic. They were very fresh, tasty and well balanced flavors. As for the main dishes, the Peking Duck was superb. The duck was lean, crispy, and the portion was substancial. The Cube Chicken was also very good. It was fried to perfection, extra crispy and it was a good complement to the duck. The Dan Dan Noodles were phenomenal and the flavors complemented the other plates perfectly. The Salt and Pepper Shrimp on the other hand, were well cooked, yet lacked seasoning. Overall it was a great meal in a great location. Only downside was that the food came out all at once, and the meal felt a bit rushed. We even got the bill without asking for it.
