True Texas BBQ reviews
16Is there a location in Houston. My husband's job had food from there & I want more but seem like the closest one is an hour & 40 min from me.
Too much PEPPER on brisket. I have had it several times and loved it. But the last two times, I have had way too much PEPPER.
About to start a grocery run, I was lured in by a delicious looking baked potato sign. Then, I had some internal conflict on whether to get that or the pulled pork sandwich at a low $4.69. (More signage) Go with your instincts, ” they said, and I did. There was no remorse. I tackled this giant, loaded, ATW papa like it was my last meal. After devouring all the good stuff, I ripped some of the sea salted skin off the potato and dunked it in BBQ sauce and was quite satisfied. Hey, it’s not fancy but this place is not trying to be. I really enjoyed this impromptu lunch!
Shoutout to the gentleman at the counter (paw paw vibes) for his friendly demeanor and customer service
Truly great BBQ and great sides. The service yesterday was just so good. Love HEB and this BBQ location
Really love the food here. Everything tastes fresh and amazing.
Indoor Cafe is clean and spacious, but aside from that the noise from the store itself makes conversation difficult, so atmosphere gets a ding for noise but that's really it!
Me and my girlfriend ordered from here from Doordarsh. It has a part where it ask if we won't bbq sauce on the side and we click it. We both didn't any BBQ sauce. Disappointed with service.
Ordered strawberry cobbler, received peach. Very soggy and inedible. Brisket was tough and inedible. Beans had no flavor either and watery. Mac and cheese was OK. The pickles were the star of the plate and most likely came from a grocery store. Pretty terrible plate of food overall.
Orederd their bbq potatoes thru favor. The potatoes are rock hard. The BBQ is good but the potatoes need to be microwaved for 20 minutes for this price certainly not worth it. I use to love this place.
We were excited to get some True Texas BBQ, but VERY DISAPPOINTED when we saw that the chicken was no longer on the menu! What? !? ! Are we still in texas!? !? How can a True Texas BBQ spot not have BBQ chicken… this is a travesty! PLEASE BRING BACK THE CHICKEN! Sincerely, A True Texan?
I ordered a carryout meal when I got there they said they had no sausage but instead of calling me asking for a substitute they just gave me more brisket I would of rather had turkey or chicken
And the cashier was rude didnt offer to change or call me and give me a different option whats the sense of leaving the phone number
Party pack for 6 people advertised online for $60 turned out to actually be $100 and the portion size was barely enough to feed three people. Very disappointing.
Trust the Texan grocery chain to have a decent BBQ place in store! Heads up, the brisket beans are a little spicy.
The meat was dried out and cold. The beans were not cooked properly. I had the order delivered. I specifically asked for utensils and bbq sauce. I didn’t get either. Cold bbq with no sauce eaten with my hands. Yummy. Do better or take Texas out of your name.
Ps all of these terrible reviews and they still have over 4 stars. Something is fishy here. Besides the taste of their food.
Brisket so dry I almost choked. Out of potatoes, Macaroni, and creamed corn during dinner on a Friday. Wouldn’t order this aging. $50 down the drain.
Edit: it won’t let me reply to the reply below me but I will say: I spent enough time bringing this to Favor’s attention. Its my understanding that they’re wholly owned by HEB, just like TTBBQ. I reached out to their support, let them know tge entire situation and had to go as far as requesting my Favor account be deleted since they barely seemed to care. Favor’s response was sort of “eh, okay sorry, thats too bad. We can’t control when stores run out of stuff. Here’s how you can delete your account. ” I get it, they can’t do anything about TTBBQ being out of most things we ordered but I wish they would at least pretend to care.
The food was good quality and was a decent portion.
It was a little too smokey for my tastes though. Will still go back though.
This place is one of my favorites because of its smoked meat, but today it has lowered my expectations since my favorite dish today was a disaster, the meat had 6 pieces of bone chopped and it was more fat than meat, I told the girls who work this place and I did not receive any response, at least I expected an apology, the end was that I vomited all the little I ate in this place, I will return, but not for my favorite dish.
