Tulsa Welding School & Technology Center reviews
16 This is the best school to go to in Houston, Texas hands down I am a business owner and I was trying to up my knowledge on HVAC-R because I build homes and remodel as well I went to another school that only belittle you for knowledge you already have and was not very helpful on questions you do have BUT here at Tulsa School of Welding they care they understand and the make you feel as if your family first and more that just a student number or ID they take time and explain every detail and plus the hands on is amazing they also let you know it is okay to have some knowledge into you craft but they sharpen your skill and craft even more Mr. O'Neil and Mr. V are the best HVAC-R teachers your ever going to meet
Current Student -
Don’t waste your money on the electrical training go do an apprenticeship and get paid more and while you go to school at night contact your local IBEW
Horrible experience they are all up for getting kids to to this school and one instructor was always late was horrible in teaching would threaten to throw them out if he saw them doing something incorrectly instead of correcting them as an instructor/teacher should then when brought up to the director she does nothing about it they never return any calls your basically playing for the name that in my opinion isn’t worth it should have done deeper research about this school before wasting my money and time you’ll get the same thing at a community college
My younger sibling is going here for their welding school and so far it's been good. Jack one of their 101 instructors is knowledgeable and equipped to help students not just learn but develop their welding skills to their best abilities as who they are as a person.
Great learning environment always had fun instructors very involved with students would recommend.
Horrible expirience with the offices. Every time I call, it goes straight to voicemail (financialaid, student service, career service). They never return your call. Career service never does their job, I would email them and call them for some job openings and they hardly send anything. You will learn how to weld from the instructors, but I really suggest not speding your money on this school and pick up a apprenticeship or start as a helper. I graduated top of my class and on the Dean list, and cannot find any work due to lack of experience in which this school claims they will help.
I loved attending this school a few years back. They (Darrius) really will go out of their way to help you. The instructors are very realistic and generally talented. Before here I tried the college route and I highly recommend trade school if you don't want to waste your time paper chasing when you should be burning rods.
Thanks to Tulsa I was able to turn a long quarantine into something special. I took my stimulus’ and went to school and got my degree! Thanks to Tulsa I have a GREAT job!
Top 5 worst decisions of my life. I just graduated from the 7 month HVAC/R program with a 3.7 GPA and it meant nothing. They don’t teach you the things you actually need to know to get a job I’ll be surprised if they teach you at all you’re basically just reading long chapters to past tests. When you work on the equipment you’re by yourself so you don’t know if you’re doing a good job or even the right job. If you have questions they either won’t get answered or answered incorrectly. Job placement is the biggest lie they tell you THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU FIND A JOB you have to do that yourself. The worst part is I still have to pay them $17000 please don’t waste your time and money.
I went to the interview. It was very inspiration.very nice people they set up in the building.is very good I know they help a lot of people from there love if I get to go to training there.
I started the HVAC program 9/13/21 and noticed I did not receive my BHA payment. I immediately went to my Senior Financial Aid Advisor Tameca Matthews and she certified me within minutes. I truly appreciate her sense of urgency.
Aside from the program being almost self taught, the staff is disastrous! I used my VA benefits to go thru the program and they constantly messed up my paperwork to where now they are wanting me to pay for a class I was involuntarily signed up for by the head instructor of the hvac course and student services. Ive reached out to student services multiple times and they are not willing to help me out and just tell me to call corporate and corporate refuse to return any of my calls.
I doubt I will get a reply from a real person. The whole time I was there I was given no instructions no help and was ignored by the staff and instructors the whole time. The promised hire from school and that did not happen. I graduated back in 2015 and the graduates now know even less. Honestly of you want to know how to weld you are better off paying me 500$ for a full crash course because everything they failed to teach I could run through in a couple hours. Instructors were self absorbed in their own grandeur that they feel entitled to do nothing all day. Go ahead and prove me wrong tulsa. I'm waiting.
I went from knowing nothing to being a combo welder in 7 months. Very good instructors, and financial aid was easy.
Great place to work and to come and learn a trade that will change your life! The whole staff is about helping our students. We see everyone as family.
Lovely school great instructors, graduated during covid and had a very hard time finding a job, Veronica from student services really set me on a good path with a blessing of a job. So greatful.highly recommend this school especially for people pursuing a welding career
