Turnstile Coffee Beer Cocktails and Burgers, Austin TX

From my first visit I saw that Matt works very hard and the management should do more to staff this place with at least two employees.

This is my go to spot in town. They have great wifi and coffee if I want to work in the mornings / early afternoons. The craft beer selection is the best in town for happy hours. In the evening their liquor selection can't be touched and they make an amazing cocktail.

First time here and I tried their namesake burger, the 'Turnstile. ' Very delicious! This place is swanky, hip and has an overall great vibe. I wanted to stay and sample some of their coffees and/or brews but it was lunch and I had to get back to work! Lots of tasty options to choose from. Don't take my word for it though. Try them out!

Great place for a coffee or beer. A few tables inside and more seating space outside. Great tacos, burgers and service. I enjoy working remotely from here. It’s a great location.

It’s very rare that I feel the need to leave a negative review anywhere however I walked into this establishment at 11: 05 pm to order a *coffee* and the barista/bartender (blonde gal) looked at me & didn’t say anything but stared to which I said “oh I’m just looking” and she responded incredibly rudely by stating “mmkay because it’s about to be last call”… to which I replied “right…but I’m ordering a coffee, not alcohol”. She proceeded to give another look and walk away. This unfortunate circumstance could’ve gone in a completely different direction, but too little too late, regrettably. It’s disappointing not only because of the condescending behavior but because I’ve always heard good things about Turnstile. Make sure if you want to get a coffee you make it in at least 2 hours prior ;)

I just got takeout one night. The burgers beat my expectations. I felt like this was just a bar that happens to serve coffee.and happens to serve burgers. I was wrong.the burgers were great! My wife said her Turnstile was great. The Verde had a nice spice to it. This is a spot I definitely want to come back to and enjoy the full experience of sitting down and having a burger and beer.and of course coffee.

Big fan of the appetizers here. Had the fries and the malt vinegar aioli was the right blend of savory and creamy. The beer cheese topped with the almond brittle was an amazing blend of savory, salty and went well with the pretzel bites.

Met our son here for coffee and a sandwich. The sandwiches were outstanding. Be back again.

Matt slings a great vanilla latte, plays good music, and hustles to get orders out.
Parking is easy, and there's decent outdoor seating, still haven't come by in the evening for a drink but someday!

Great local coffee and brew spot. I really enjoyed the whipped feta dish and my cappuccino. The cappuccino was very bold and strong. The dip was very creamy and tangy. The vibe is converted sonic drive-in meets hipster coffee spot. There is a standalone building for the drive thru.

Fantastic spot for craft burgers, drinks, beer and coffee. Service and bartenders are amazing. I will be back.

I’ve known this for a while, and that this is my new favorite place. I count myself as a beer connoisseur, and this is a top notch spot. Do yourself a favor and stop-by sometime.

Went right before a game at Q2 stadium. They staff were quick and friendly, and the owner even came by and chatted.

So many lovely beers available on draft! The hamburger was delicious. I am short and the high-top chairs were all that were available at the time.

I love this place. I’ve been coming here for years and the morning crew is great, I love seeing Matt. But the evening blond bartender is not so great.
My sister and I split the bill on food and drinks so that they were on different tabs. My sister got the food and it was $40, which was all she had. She couldn’t tip. To which the bartender says in a condescending voice, “Thanks! ” Mind you, I have a separate tab for the drinks which will be tipping. We went outside to grab a table and waiting for about five minutes since there were other customers in line. I went back inside and she hadn’t started our drinks whatsoever. She waited for me to come back inside to start them, to which she just put down on the counter and walked away. Oh, she did say the tea was hot but that was it.
It felt incredibly condescending and rude that she treated us this way because we didn’t tip the food order, even though the drink order is tipped.

I used to love this place. The prices have skyrocketed now. Cocktails are now as expensive as the Roosevelt Room downtown and not near the quality depending on what bartender you get. The inconsistency is troubling at the current price point ($14-17 per cocktail). The food is good and hits the spot for an elevated neighborhood bar vibe.

Breakfast tacos and cappuccino were good. Heated outdoor seating and indoor bar style seating.

The burger was perfectly cooked with nice and crispy bacon and a buttery brioche bun. The espresso martini was great being a coffee shop/bar and the hot toddy did not disappoint. Would absolutely come back!
