Its a great school, its just in a extremely bad part of Houston. Lots of homeless people and the neighborhoods look shady as you know what. Dont stop your car or get out, unless you are armed.

Had an excellent experience here as a student. Love returning now as an alum (usually for football or basketball) and seeing the beautiful campus once again. Go Coogs!

Had a very bad experience at the Registrar office with a Joslyn Hogg. We came in to turn in some residency documents and she was not even trying to answer any of our questions. Of course something was missing and we were sent home empty handed, but the worst part is that we just sat there in silence for about 75 seconds before I asked if that was it. She said yes thats it. The LEAST she could do is say, "is there anything else I can help you with? " or "well was that all? " but nothing. She just sat there and stared at her computer and I thought she was still looking something up, trying to help me, but that was never the case. They should have SMARTER, more socially capable people working for their departments. Especially if these are the people dealing with the international student issues. Ridiculous.

I can't believe school admission team disorganize, mismanage and rude to students. Whenever I call them, I never get direct answer and always say I need this and that although, I already submit them. It just gives me frustration after call. A few time drop the line and one man just end my call without saying anything to end conversation.so rude. If they hate what their doing, why don't they work somewhere else?

Thank you so much UH for rejecting my college application. I applied due to the schools proximity and certainly not its alleged quality. Acceptance to this school would have led me into a state of depression. UH's campus is as ugly as the grades on college transcript's. MY ADVISE TO EVERY APPLICATION REJECT-Be happy you did not get accepted, you deserve better! To the commuters who were accepted I say good luck on your quest for a decent parking spot.

Best place to have one’s eyes checked. Good instructors and innovative equipment. I’ve been going there for years!

Sad to say that University of Houston has been a disappointment. Over the last 3 years the parking permit prices have increased outrageously. From $165 /year to $406/year and up. "Mandatory" fees are being added on to tuition, that is not even covered by Hazlewood.for student activities. I am a student and comes to class and leaves, I do not participate in any student activities because I am juggling a job as well. Why can't I be exempt. Textbooks are overpriced, and then rarely used in the classrooms. There is a lack of professors, especially good ones. I wouldn't mind paying as much money for these things if they were actually worth it, but most of the expenses seem pointless. Great job University of Houston for ripping off thousands of students. I really wish I had a better experience at this university.

Proud to be a cougar. Great atmosphere and experience here fir years. Love the scene and the greek historical building which was an icon of the school. Miss the greedy and clingy squirrels near the fountain and in front of the library. Hopefully the baby squirrel grows up well

It would be nice if the administration did something to improve security on this campus. Too many robberies going around here. It's ridiculous. They should bring back the parking spots by Cullen Road. Makes no sense to give students less access.

The quality of the education is alright. Some professors are good and others are alright. This place isn't necessarily bad but definitely have room for improvements.

Great school, as long as you dont mind the weekly assalts on students by the surrounding resedents. A subject that is not highlighted enough to new students.

Parking is a nightmare! I went to school here and parking is still a nightmare. I gave someone an uber ride to work and another time for class here because they hate looking for parking and wasting gas! The professors are decent but they need to fix this parking craziness

I recently did a campus tour today and I would say it's pretty good. Yes the area may not seem safe, but overall the quality, the attentiveness of the staff, and genuine feel of the campus is enough to win my heart a little bit over. I really feel that the faculty and staff care about their students' needs and concerns. I sat down with the Bauer's Business counselor and he took the time to really explain what each of the programs were about and what was the general curriculum; it definitely broadened my perspective of what type of school this is and what it could offer. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. Although I'm not fully decided to go to UH, I'm more leaning towards the school because it has an excellent honors program-top ten in the nation for public schools- and decent courses and professors. Now, we will see in the following months, UT Austin or UH?

The parking situation is a joke. At times, I've had to park off-campus and take an uber to get to class on time. There simply is not enough parking, and nobody wants to begin their day with that kind of stress.

This school is a joke. The only thing they care about is money, and not your education. I went to this school for about a year, because that’s all I could stand for. First of all, the teachers and staff care little about you. Every time I would call any of the offices to get some answers, I would be on the phone for hours. I would go through 3 or 4 different people because they would keep transferring me to someone else. Most of the time I would not even get my questions answered.

Almost every teacher I had, had a thick accent and I could not understand them. All the classes were huge and sometimes I couldn’t even hear the Professor. Because of the huge class size I feel like the quality of education I was receiving was very poor. One class I had was being taught by a teacher assistant, she looked like a child and could not speak proper English.

If you are a commuter, which most are. The traffic is always horrible and parking is a nightmare. If you are debating between this school and one closer to home, please do your self a favor and pick the one closer to you. I made that mistake already. The only way to guarantee your self a parking spot is to buy a $450-$500 garage pass.

The location of this school is dangerous. Reports of robberies and car break-ins on campus happened often during my one year, some were even at gunpoint. I was scared to walk to and from my car. The roads around the school are littered with potholes and trash, watch out when you are driving around campus.

Overall this school is not worth the time and money that I was putting into it. The quality of education was poor and I felt like I was risking my safety every time I went to class. I now go to University of Houston Clear Lake and I am enjoying it immensely. If you are deciding between University of Houston and University of Houston Clear Lake I would highly recommend UHCL.
