I did this tour several years ago, and it was good. We went again a couple of weeks ago and it had improved so much. So much wonderful information shared so well with videos and seeing it first hand! Lots of walking, lots of stairsbut so worth it.

Went on a little family trip to the Lexington last weekend & had a blast, made so many memories in a span of a few hours! I highly recommend getting the special deal with the escape room. For $38ea you get access to the museum & get to experience one of their escape rooms. Admission to the museum is $19 per adult so the extra 20 is worth it! Caitlin & Kaleb (I think that was his name) gave us an awesome experience in ‘ Face your Fears ‘. My team got out with 5 seconds left to spare! With the exception of my little brother, he was too scared so they took him to the control room w/them.

Great museum, the shear size of the ship is only appreciated in person. Lots of walking and climbing up and downstairs be prepared. Awesome tour guides, great people, and rich in history.

Great visit.

We visited a couple decades ago, but things are very different now.

The museum is quite organized and has more than enough to keep you engaged for several days.

There are five “zones” or Tours you can self-tour in any order. We did the 3D Theater first, then the hangar deck and the flight deck, followed by the others. You simply follow the signs. It’s basically one way so foot traffic flow isn’t too bad at all.

If you are a history buff and like to stop to read all the informational signs and listen to all the exhibit videos, (and stop to take photos) you could probably spend a day each on three of the five zones.

Beware, there is an elevator from the hangar deck to the flight deck, but other than that, you will be climbing and descending some very narrow and steep Navy ship stairways.

Some areas of the ship are air conditioned and very comfortable, other areas are not. It can be quite warm in the summer time.

The hangar deck had a museum cafe with plentiful seating so you can take a break and resupply the body’s liquid and solid food. A little pricey, but it’s readily available. There are also several free water fountains.

There are senior adult and veteran discounts, so be sure to ask. It is also 30-07 posted.

And there is a gift shop should you desire to take home a souvenir.

There is a long uphill pier from the parking lot $5/day (no cash) to the main entrance, but they run a small tram to assist. If you stay all day, don’t wait until closing to catch the tram. You might think the last tram down to parking would be at 5 or 5: 01 pm, it is not. The last tram run is about 4: 40 pm. You’re on your own if you miss it. We came out at 4: 53 and the tram driver just returned but said he was done for the day. Not sure if he was a volunteer or paid employee. But the down hill walk isn’t too bad.

The ship has its own WiFi (not connected to the Internet), but if connected to the ship’s WiFi network you can scan the QRC symbols at various exhibits and play additional video information about that exhibit.

Guided tours are also available for an additional fee, but must be scheduled in advance.

For scouts and youth groups, they have overnight events you may find enjoyable. I took my son on an overnighter on the USS Alabama in Mobile. It was a very memorable event.

If you are a history buff and plan to spend more than one day there, look into and consider the museum membership levels. Some levels include multiple museum visits.

Worth the entry fee.

Pretty cool if you are into history. Ship is also cool if you have never been on an aircraft carrier.

So many history and collections to find out, except for the heat, everything is good and worth it.

The museum is a wonderful aircraft carrier that survived the Second World War, very interesting

The water levels had gone down to the point that I could stand under the ship! I took some pictures and videos and it was just cool. Just for free. Never went in. Nice place to chill at night after bar hopping and dancing nearby. The park was cute. Lots of friends and couple roaming around at 12am. There is also waterfalls and art features.

Really relaxing hangout spot to wind down after a night out. Free street parking.

Very safe in the area too. Didn't notice anything strange. It was quite lively on a Friday night too!

Must see if you are in the Corpus Christi area. Impressive history. Extensive self-guided tour (take into account at least 3 hours). Parking could be a little clearer (or nearby for $5).

We came in from San Antonio to visit for my son's birthday. Upon arrival, we were told that the credit card machines were down and that they were only accepting cash. None of us had cash on us. The woman working the ticket booth was extremely rude, and we became discouraged. We sat outside for a while, trying to figure out what to do. We were approached by a gentleman named Brian. We explained to him what had happened and he went to look into it. After a few minutes, he came by and let us in. Our trip turned out to be incredible. We had an amazing time, and my son got the full experience he wanted for his 7th birthday. Thank you so much for helping us, Brian. We are forever grateful.

Such a fun learning experience. So much history taught and available here. Caution steep stairs and certain areas are not for tall people. Also watch your step as many areas have high step overs.

Awesome Museum Great history in this ship, really learned a lot many people have given their lives for the freedoms we enjoy today and dare not take for granted! This was a workout great exercise but we'll always remember The Lexington and the folks who ran her through the world's oceans for freedom! Thanks to those who made this ship possible for us to enjoy.

Is a good Toirist destination if you like history, however beware that because it's an older ship, it's a little hot below decks

I have grown up going to the Lexington so everyone I go to the beach it is a must do thing. Every time I visit they are doing new things or adding new displays for the next time I go and visit. Do be ready to climb up and down a lot of stairs but it’s so worth it. Legit feels like your stepping into history and that’s the coolest thing about visiting the Lexington.
