If i could give zero stars, I most definitely would. I went into the ER Friday for a hand injury. I ended up at St. Joseph's mental ward until Monday afternoon. The staff stated SEVERAL things that NEVER came out of my mouth that initially put me into a mental hospital. They stated that I walked in saying I wanted to hurt myself which is completely false! I was caged up like an animal. Staff walking by watching me cry and be beside myself because of what happened. I was told so many different stories about why I was not being released. I am beyond embarrassed, furious and sad. I have never been treated so poorly in my life! I will NEVER return to a UTMB EVER. Neither will my children. This put such a disturbance in my life, my husband's business and my poor children had no idea what was going on. THEY SENT ME TO ST JOSEPH'S! I'm still in a bit of shock. It was like a horror movie. I have a meeting with my lawyer Thursday. I hope and pray that UTMB never does that to anyone else. It was the most horrific experience of my life. I was treated like an animal. SHAME ON YOU UTMB STAFF. YOU NEED AUDIO OR VIDEO OR BOTH IN THE TRIAGE SO THAT YOU CAN HAVE PROOF OF WHAT IS ACTUALLY SAID. I have ptsd from this. I'm scared to go to a hospital now. ESPECIALLY utmb. But I will never go there again. Absolutely disgusting.

If you're in need of urgent care, DO NOT not COME HERE! This place doesn't care! I've visited this place 3 times: once with my husband and twice accompanying my grandchild. There's Never a sense of urgency.
When I brought my husband, we waited for 2 hours without EVER being triaged. Seeing how my husband continued to decline, I made the decision to leave and I took him to Clear Lake regional. It was further but necessary. My husband was admitted, had surgery and spent a month in the hospital.
My grandchild needs stitches and my daughter has been waiting for 3 hours and she is being told that we will be waiting the remainder of the night possibly.
Apart from me and the receptionist being here, the waiting room is LITTERALLY Empty, Litterally!

I went in to the ER two days ago with a lot of discomfort in my lower right abdomen. I want to start off by saying that the nurses were really nice and friendly! My review and rating isn't based on them, it's more towards the results of the service provided. They ran some tests and performed a CT scan on my abdomen. They said they couldn't really see anything out of the ordinary, that the CT scan wasn't really giving them a clear sight, which concerned me. They mentioned that my bladder lining was a little thickened which could be a sign of infection, however my blood test and UA ran great thankfully so there wasn't any infection. I was then told it may be early signs of appendicitis. I was offered ibuprofen though I wasn't in much pain, just discomfort because I feel like my food isn't digesting properly, I feel pressure in my bladder when I eat or drink anything. They told me I was fine for the most part and if the pain persists, I should come back the next day. I felt like I didn't really receive a clear answer on what's going on which bothers me a little. I didn't end up coming back because I don't have health insurance currently so I know the bill is already going to run in the thousands for all the work that was done already (I was told by the billing associate that the deposit for the day's visit was $840, and that was before I had any tests done, so I can only imagine what my bill is going to be after the tests that were ran.) I know I wouldn't be able to afford a second visit, and I also didn't want to go in and get another unclear answer to what's happening. Two days later, I still feel pressure and bloated when I eat just a little bit (eating soft foods, teas, and fresh pressed juice), the discomfort is still there and now there is a little pain from time to time but it's not consistent pain.

Had an emergency kidney stone situation. They took me in immediately and got the pain under control quickly. They were polite helpful and all around a good experience. Not sure what the charges are going to be but they definently took care of me fast and efficiently.

Let me just say UTMB league city is hands down the best ER I have been too. My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer 4 years ago. She never got treated. The cancer spread to terminal cancer. She would not go to ER without me. Due to Covid I could not find an ER that would let me in. I was turned away by memorial hermann southeast when she was in respiratory distress because they would not let me in. I spent hours trying to find a hospital that would allow me in because she couldn’t talk for herself and she is terrified of hospitals. I was lucky to even get her to go in with me. I entered UTMB and it was like walking into heaven itself. We were welcomed and helped right away. The nurse triage was hands down amazing with my terrified sister. She assured her they could not legally do anything she didn’t want to do. When we went back to a room the nurse was very comforting. The doctor was compassionate. My sister was terrified they would transport her to another hospital because she loved this hospital. I assured her we would stay here. The techs were amazing asssiting with her CT scan when she was terrified to lay down flat due to her not being able to breathe in one lung. The case worker helped us set up hospice and went above and beyond. When she was admitted to the hospital they continued to take care of her with compassion. Ingrid with utmb Texas city went above and beyond to help her get Medicaid. There isn’t enough words to express my gratitude for every person that took on my sisters case. God truly was in every soul that worked there. His favor was in abundance. Thank you UTMB for your compassion and hard work to make a difference in a terminally ill patient just for a few day’s. That in its self saved my sisters life.

Glad I called in ahead of going to urgent care to give specific details of the medication I need filled and being told I have to go in and see a doctor for a refill only to wait for 2 hours for the arrogant doctor to walk into the room with a high school attitude and tell me he doesn't know why I came in today and the nurses don't know what they're talking about.

I have not personally been in this hospital but I have seen my Dr.there. My surgery was 6 yrs ago Feb 6,2014! Mine took place at the UTMB in Galvestion. Bu my doctors are amazing! ALL OF THEM. Everyone within UTMB has been very supportive. Anyway. I'll probably be there sometime in February. Time to just come in for a check up. Haven't seen them in awhile.guess I need to let them know I'm still kicking! Yes, this hospital was just getting started.

I had surgery here. When I was admitted to the 2nd floor is when the problems began. They ignored my pain. 1st I was given toradol for a pain level of 8. Then after my husband found the nurse and told her I was in tears I was given a norco pill. The pill didn't help so my husband found the nurse and told her she never came to the room. I remained in severe pain the rest of the night. The night nurse continued to give me the toradol that didn't touch my pain. The tech didn't know I had a catheter untill halfway in her shift, the tech was asking where my drain was to empty it. I didn't have a drain. The nurses are extremely rude. The next morning I kept hitting my call light and when no one answered my husband called the nurses station not only was she rude with him but she was extremely rude with me also and said they dont have a secretary and it's more work for her to answer the phone and next time to use my call light. She went on and on about this for 5min. I asked for zofran so I could eat my breakfast. She told me she would be back after rounds

Please don't go there if you have good health insurance. My physician works at UTMB in Galveston. I had a medical emergency and he recommended me to be admitted at this facility. I had very bad experience with nursing staff. They were exceptionally rude. Nurse that came in my room didn't even introduced herself and kept chewing gum. Unprofessional and act as if they don't care. I will give my business to others hospitals or will drive down to Galveston.

The worst customer service I had ever encountered at a hospital. I came in on 6/20 at 8: 14a and the front counter lady was RUDE, short (cutting me off when I was speaking) and combative. We I told her a smile would be nice (despite all her attitude issues) because people coming to the ER are probably having a bad day. She rudely (and loud) said to me "Well guess what? I am having a bad day too, so now what? " I told her she should take time off work because it wasnt about her as long as she was sitting behind that desk, it was about the patients and the customer service UTMB expects from her. Her reply was "I'm not finna argue withchu" and rolled her eyes. I told her I wasnt going to argue with her nor was I going to stay there and tolerate her attitude and I left. I will never go back to this ER. I hope Clearlake has higher standards for the people they hire.

Terrible! Took my mom to the ER because she was having heart palpitations. We paid the 150$ copay. The service is VERY SLOW. We were the only ones there at that time and it still took a long time to get discharged. After a few weeks, she got 2 bills. One was for 500$ from UTMB and another bill was from Las Vegas for 100$ which was fees associated with the ER doctor. Grand total of 750$. The ER doctor seems to be associated with another hospital system. Please go somewhere else.

I brought my wife to the ER for a shoulder injury. The treatment was the worst we have ever experienced. The PA on staff was the most unprofessional and arrogant person I have ever dealt with. When hours passed and the medication the PA ordered never showed he just said nothing he could do. We never made it out of the waiting room where they did triage. When we questioned the issue with help they called the armed guard to escort us out! We didn't even raise out voices. We asked them to look into this inexcusable treatment and after their "internal" investigation they found nothing wrong. Then they charged us as if we were treated and released! Outrageous, I wouldn't go to this butcher shop if I was about to die on the street out front! STAY AWAY!

I was having a severe allergic reaction to a bug bite. They got me in, started medications immediately to help my swelling, hives and pain stay under control. Staff was awesome, very caring and attentive!

ER tech Jerry Clark, great customer service, professional and caring. Knows how to compassionately manage psych pts with medical issues. The ER staff is not like any staff ive experiance before. Even the admin gentleman who signs you in was handling everyone with courtesy, he seemed to know his job very well. ER nurse practitioners and staff seem to generally care.

We are from out of town but took my dad to the ER because of very severe pain in his stomach area. He hasn't been to the hospital in 20 years because he never wants to go, so the fact that he offered tells you how serious it was. Upon arrival at about 2: 30am, they did all the initial intake information. However, they had horrible service throughout the night shift. Not once did they offer to bring pillows, blankets, water, etc. When the night staff came in, two of the night shift nurses were flirting with one another. The same girl came in a couple times when the male nurse was in there and was laughing saying "oops haha sorry wrong room, " or telling the male nurse to, "quit rubbing up on her. " It was just very unprofessional.

My dad kept telling them all he wanted was pain medicine to make the pain stop. While I understand it takes time, I walked down to the nurses station, peeked my head around to see what was going on and walked back to my room. Surprisingly after I caught them all laughing and sitting in a circle, the doctor showed up literally within fifteen seconds (we had been waiting on him for two to three hours at this point).

At the end of the night, the male nurse took another blood sample and told us it would just be about fifteen minutes until the results came back. Well, we had been there five hours already at this point and were near the end of the night shift, so this nurse left, and over an hour later still had no results. My mom went and asked what was taking so long and the nurse told her it had only been 30 minutes. My mom said no, it's been well over an hour, and again, within a minute or so we had the doctor come back to see us and actually get things moving again. The new day shift ended up giving him an IV five and a half hours after we arrived because they said he was dehydrated (who takes 5 and a half hours for an IV and fluids?) We were there for over 7 hours by the end of it all.

Did I mention, we still don't know exactly why he was having the stomach pain? This was the morning of June 9th, 2019, and we plan on taking him back to another hospital here where we live (after a 10 hour drive of pain that he'll have to go through). Please do not go here, at whatever costs. Go to the 24 hour urgent care nearby. While I'll admit some of these problems could have been because of medical reasons I'm not familiar with, the horrible horrible service is what really made this experience so bad for us.

I went to my doctor to see about stomach swelling and fever he sent me to the ER, League City Location, on I 45, The date 05/09/2019 the staff up front where okay, upon arriving and the nurse practitioner was good, My stomach was very swollen and hurting very bad. They took me for a Cat Scan then before they even got the results the doctor stuck his head in the door and told me your fine you can leave, The doctor never even came in my room. I had no idea what was going on. Then we are leaving I was standing waiting for my husband to get our vehicle and the gate would not work; I stood there for about 10 more mins and went in and told them he could not get the gate open,
the woman at the front said; he needs to hit the call button, I told here I could not get out to him because of the severe storm that was going on and his phone was in my purse, she said he needs to hit that button we can't help him.he finally got out I told him and he said he hit the button 5 times with no response.we finally got home at about 2 am.
THEN I GET A CALL EARLY NEXT MORNING TELLING ME MY RESULTS CAME BACK AND I HAVE AN INFECTION. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN. UNCARING DOCTOR AND FRONT STAFF. No wonder they have such bad reviews, time for new administration and staff.

Took my mother to the ER around 10pm 1/1/19, Dr. Rutlegde saw my mother and said she was dehydrated would get her fluids and whatnot. At around 5am 1/2/19 nurse came in and said my mother would get discharged, i asked about her IV and fluids and why had she not received anything yet (third time asking). My mother seemed just as bad as when we walked in. A few minutes later the dr came in and said he forgot to put in the orders that i was right about her getting fluids. I stated i had asked 3 times and he said it was the first time he was hearing about it. He said it was an oversight and forgot. How can you discharge someone when they obviously cant walk out of the ER and look terribly sick? I usually take my mother to UTMB Galveston never had a bad experience, thought bringing her here would be the same but their service and attention was awful.
