Dr Mallory (pretty sure I’m spelling that wrong) but she was great and so caring with my condition. I wish I could have continued seeing her as my OB but because they deliver in Galveston unfortunately I had to change Dr that delivers closer to home since I have a one year old. Thank you Dr Mallory for actually caring ️

I love this place and the doctors are amazing educated woman. The reason why I’m giving a one star is because the front desk lady (she’s the oldest, with glasses) is a BUTCH. And I say it like that because she treated me so low and even put her hand in my face to stop talking. She needs to be FIRED.

My first pregnancy was great.with them and the delivery was awesome. But now this is my second pregnancy and I feel helpless.first of all they never have a the same day appointments, I'm sick.and I'm sure it's an infection cause I got it from my 2 year old. I have the same symptoms and when I told them, I also told them Imy ear was starting to feel pain.they told me I might have to wait until Friday to be seen.like really? By Friday I will have an infection on my ear already! Maybe both! They are Uncaring. I'm in pain right now trying to see if I can change my pcp. I didn't wanted a guy t but it might be the answer to my problem.

I had a horrible experience with this clinic last year while expecting my daughter.

Between the nurses altering my medical records (I made sure to request copies after each prenatal appointment, and if you lay them all out side by side, you can see where they went in and altered my records. They even put that I was on medications that I had NEVER taken before), charging my insurance for tests they never performed, not to mention that I had to argue with the damn NP because she kept insisting I was four weeks further along than I really was (ultrasound confirmed my math was correct), I am so done with this place.

What they don’t tell you is that they try to talk every one of their patients into elective inductions so they can make sure you deliver in Galveston. If you refuse, then they’ll start “finding” medical issues that would warrant an induction. They specialize in Medicaid fraud.

I refused to schedule an induction at one of my late second trimester appointments. Conveniently, at my next appointment, I was told I’d failed my one hour glucose test by one point (according to their lab’s standards, supposedly, but I never saw the results of that test) and that I would need to take a 3 hour glucose test. I refused, opting to test my blood sugar at home four times a day, and keeping a journal. I faithfully tested my blood sugar every single day. Not once did my blood sugar go above normal levels. I brought my log with me to appointments and requested that copies be put into my medical records. The APN, Ms. Preece, still insisted that I had gestational diabetes, even though all evidence showed that I did not.

Funny enough, there was no diagnosis for gestational diabetes at all in my chart until I reached 37-38 weeks. Seems to me like if a patient had gestational diabetes, you’d start charting immediately, right? Suddenly, there were all these entries about high blood sugar, another two glucose tests, etc.all made AFTER my 36 week appointment. (Apparently they didn’t realize that PCC dates all edits, and they show up when the patient record is printed out.) Mind you, I was still charting my blood sugar faithfully, had never had another glucose test, etc. They still charged my insurance for these tests even though they were never performed.

At that same 38 week appointment, the APN played the “dead baby” card. “You need to have an induction so we make sure you and the baby don’t die during childbirth. ”

I replied “Show me in my records where I am at risk of dying during childbirth? Show me where my baby is at risk? All my labs have been normal, she is exactly where she should be development wise, my blood pressure and blood sugar are perfect. ” She couldn’t show me anything. (I have the audio from that entire appointment recorded, by the way. Texas is a one party recording state. I started recording all my appointments after 26 weeks.) She even begrudgingly admitted that I’d had a very healthy pregnancy. I told her I wouldn’t consider an induction unless I went over my due date, and to stop pushing. She took it upon herself to schedule an induction at UTMB for two days after my due date: September 4th. However, I went into labor naturally the morning of the 3rd, and delivered a healthy baby girl weighing 7 lbs. 13 oz.at Memorial Hermann Katy. That same day, I reported the clinic to the state, turned over all my records and notes to the office of the Attorney General, as well as to my insurance company, and filed a complaint with the Texas BON.

Do not come here. They prey upon undocumented and low-income women, they commit Medicaid and insurance fraud, and they are fraudulently pushing women into unnecessary medical procedures just to make sure they get paid.

Worst experience ever.
Ruth Preece shouldn’t practice medicine
We are in the process of suing her, and the clinic.
My wife is going to surgery because Ms Preece misplaced the IUD outside the cervix, and didn’t even care to do an ultrasound to check her work afterwards. Not only that. But when my wife started feeling pain the following day, she performed an ultrasound and told her that the IUD is there but just a little lower than it should be.
We went to REAL doctor who couldn’t see ANYTHING inside the cervix on ultrasound, had to do a C-T scan to find out that the devise was placed into her abdominal touching her bladder putting her life in danger.

Just sharing our experience. And we’re gonna have a long way with her in court rooms.

Medicine practicing is all about money nowadays “with few exceptions” with NO care about the patient as long as he/she is paying.

AVOID ALL UTMB OFFICES! Melony Hicks is a TERRIBLE person. Please for your baby’s sake AVOID THIS PLACE! Instead, go see Rafael DeAyala. He is a great doctor. I found him after my awful experience with UTMB. Melony Hicks did not listen to my concerns. I felt threatened and completely VIOLATED by her. She was extremely rude and dismissive. She seems to only be in it for the money, charging as much as she can to insurance. She actually laughed in my face because she didn’t agree with me and my choices. I’ve never had such an awful experience.
I switched doctors after Hicks violated me. Ruth Preece was supposed to talk to me about my ultrasound to tell me if my baby was growing or not. She said she couldn’t tell me anything because she didn’t have the ultrasound.even though my ultrasound was done literally 10 feet away in the office down the hall TWO HOURS BEFORE. She could have at least checked the weight of the baby but she did absolutely nothing to try to find out anything about my ultrasound. I had to leave the office not knowing if my baby was ok.not knowing if he was growing. They wanted me to wait a month to find out. Completely unprofessional! I have also had to wait (multiple times) to be seen by the doctor AN HOUR AFTER my scheduled appointment time.
I asked for the office manager and none of the employees up front could give me a name or phone number. I tried so many time to have my records sent to a new doctor and it was never done! One of the employees told me she could not give me my records in person. Why would I be unable to receive MU OWN RECORDS? This place is completely awful. No one there knows how to do their job.except Holly.
The one great thing about this terrible place was my experience with Holly. She is the ultrasound tech and she was so sweet and patient. She answered my questions and made me feel very comfortable. I never felt rushed by her like I did with other employees at this office. My daughter also loved her. She took the time to talk to her and I appreciate that.

Over booking their appointments so much I finally had to say something. Every time we have an appointment we sit in the main waiting room for at least 1 hour before we are asked to reschedule or finally called back to the rooms. Parents need to control their offspring considering other and that we don't want hear the glass shattering screams every second you arnt watching your kids because you have to many and cant control yourself as well as the 6 kids you have birthed.

**My PERSONAL experience here**
My first pregnancy, I’m all excited about it up until I make an appointment at 11: 45a. And don’t get called in till 1: 20p after everyone else who came in late or after me were seen first. Also they asked my age, said that MY HUSBAND couldn’t be in the room with me. How that relates I still don’t know, every time I asked why not, they tip toed around the subject. When they drew blood on my left arm, it hurt more than my previous experience at the hospital on my right arm, now I know why, because they left a huge bruise and mark compared to my other arm. To top it all off, they gave me the WRONG prescription for what I originally needed and still made me pay for the right one. Deeply disappointed.

Zero star for sure this is my 3rd time in here with my mom, my mom is pregnant with her 2nd kid and they did want me in the room with her when they saw me I'm almost 16 and they didn't want me around my mom I'm the only one that's been there for her through the pregnancy and they tell her that I have to wait outside. I'm almost 16 and I'm very mature for my age and they had the nerves to tell me that I can't go back with my mom imagine how it will be with little kids that run around and cry and try to get into everything compared to and 15 year old. And on top of that they didn't tell my mom over phone that there's NO doctors there not even one they're all nurses, and nurse practitioners, they have 3 different nurses see you. The first one she got mad when I gave my mom a hug telling her I love here cause I seen she was getting frustrated asking her the same questions 3 times and the nurse gave me a dirty look. The 2nd nurse wasn't so bad but still asked the same question the other one did. Then the nurse practitioner was the worst she asked the same question again twice and she asked my mom a different question than the other ones didnt she asked with a snoody attitude " So, are you going to get your tubes tied? " And my mom responses no i want to try to have a boy and they were try to peer pressure my mom into having her tubes tied. The first nurse came back and did blood work on my mom and she was laughing the whole time drawing my mom's blood. And the nurse practitioner stood a crossed her arm the whole time and kept saying I don't know and saying she don't know why my mom feels sick and won't check her and she told my mom with an attitude " Well, that's how we do is if they want to know there results we'll just tell them when they come back. " And saying that, she still didn't tell my mom her results from all 3 visits, after my mom brought it up wanting to know her results. If I could give negative stars I would.

My experience for a annual wellness exams and removal of iud was ok but I've experienced way better in my previous doctor back in GA the wait to be called was about 1hour to 1hr 30. Nurses and doctor were friendly and and seem interested.my removal was reschedule for two weeks because "they didn't have the equipment for the procedure" yet I was schedule to have it done that day. Overall clean place, friendly staff, long wait.

I haven't had the opportunity to visit this location or any of these locations. In a telephone call moments ago, and prior to even scheduling an appointment, I've been asked my race, religion, and 2 security questions; JUST to establish an appointment? What does the privacy laws say about this? Although John was very nice on the telephone and as he sat with his trainer, this was a tad bit too much just to establish an appointment. Is all of that really needed to determine if you'll want me to be a patient? Will my appointment time depend on if I'm black/white/hispanic? These are questions that should be ONLY on paper and in the office!
