Look, I don't expect all of my bartenders to be deoderant-wearing smooth talkers with 401ks, but a whole staff of grad students is really something else.

Cramped bad service even for a University. We went for a lecture and the reception was here. Bad bad bad place

The slogan speaks for itself: "Gods. Heroes. Mythical beings. Cheap beer. " One of my best memories and favorite places at Rice.

This is a nice quaint cash-only bar with cheap drinks! Operates at cost and managed by Rice grads – it keeps a lot of tradition in the family. The bartenders are very friendly & outdoor seating has nice ambiance. I just wish the parking situation was better. Definitely come here if you don’t mind a 10-15 minute walk from nearest parking.

The vibe was crazy, I loved the paintings on the walls while walking in and the old school interior. Think hidden pub in animal house.gets ya half way there.

I heard good things about this bar from the graduate students, but when I went they served me the wrong beer and would not correct my order

A gem! You have to be taken here by someone who has been there. But this place is crazy good in a laid back, low key way. I gotta get there again when I'm in town.

Cheap beer but that’s about it. Claims to be a bar but doesn’t sell any liquor at all. Sticky counters. Weird music and weirder bartenders. Served water from a dirty sink. Cash only, and gave me change in nickels because they were out of quarters. Now my wallet is full of nickels. Thanks Valhalla.

Don't go here, expensive and rude employees. You'll be happier on a patio in midtown

Terrible place. They told me they take care of cats and don’t let you request songs unless the bartenders feel like it. 11/10 I wouldn’t come back (:

Prices are unbeatable and staff are amazing. Excellent place to come with friends and have a good time.

I personally don’t drink but the vibe of this place is unmatched. I ain’t putting a long review.

Words can’t express how nostalgic this place made me. I haven’t been here in many years but nothing has changed! The beer is still the cheapest in town, still a great place to chill and chat with folks.

FYI: the bad reviews had me laughing pretty hard! Some folks are incredibly creative. ️

Great location in campus and close to the medical center. BUT absolutely no parking options and management is pretty stuck up and enjoys talking down to people.

Do not drive here, its pretty much a campus bar for rice students run for beer at cost and voluntaries.

I'd say my rice experience is unfulfilled without Valhalla
