Vargas Foot & Ankle Specialists reviews
19Took my son there he was very nervous about his procedure, but the staff there made him feel at ease overall very friendly staff, I would refer my family and friends there thanks Dr. VARGAS.
Don't even waste your time going to this practice unless you want your insurance to pay for your pedicure!
Took my child there who has a foot and ankle problem that needs attention and fast forward 4 months later I still haven't received a call from the office manager or the head nurse to tell us when to pick up her brace and insole
Go to the medical center if you need real doctors otherwise this place could be a good choice for nail service
My 13 yr old had an ingrown toenail. Dr. Marcelo did a great job reassuring my son and treating the nail. Very thorough, professional, and friendly.
I seen Dr. Vargas twice, both times was horrible. I am a African American woman. He would not exam my foot at all. I went to him with a ankle injury and let him know I had already had two surgery. My last doctor sent me to physical therapy and they couldn’t work on me due to a Union, Nerve damage and a chronic complete ligament tear. My doctor at the time left to Kelsey Seybold. So I found Vargas, he never greeted me or my husband when he came into the room. He was upset that I couldn’t not go to his physical therapy place. Also, he would not review my medical records that I supplied his office with. He never told me a medical diagnosis or a medical plan. I was so disappointed with this man who calls himself a doctor. Once I was leaving the office clerk gave me my diagnosis brochure. I was so taken back. He didn’t even exam me then, mis-diagnosis me or just had the clerk just give me something. I would not take a chance on the man all he cares about is talking about his failed football career. He needs to be a doctor not a wanaa be doctor. Sad and waste of time for people in need of medical help
My first visit today with Dr. Marcelo was informative and attentive. Deborah the lead M. A.was the best! She was extremely warm and delightful. My profession as a nurse know the importance of patient service, being detailed and following up with your patient is about Excellence which was exhibited.
Ms Marcelo is the best! She takes the time and answers all my questions. I had a broken foot and had the patience to attend on my open wound and fractured foot.
Dr. Vanessa Marcelo was amazing! She was so personal in my care and treatment. I felt like I was speaking to a educated family member. You don’t often have moments well you feel Doctors genuinely like or care for you but with her you get that. She was very knowledgeable about her field of study and I know I made the right choice by selecting her for my health concerns with my foot.
The staff were all very nice and courteous, and the doctor explained everything thing to me, and made sure I understood. I would definitely recommend
Dr. Marcelo and the entire staff were awesome. My son was in a lot of pain. After communicating this to the office, they allowed for him to reschedule and go in sooner. Everyone from the the front desk to the medical staff was friendly and professional. Dr. Marcelo kept my son distracted by talking about everything from school to video games while she performed a miracle on his feet.
Well attended am please with the service! I also have been seeing the improvement on my health. Thank you for such good service!
I had an appointment at 1: 00 and they call me to be in 30 minutes before and I did get there early but they were close and no sign out for lunch or what time they'll be back and when they did open they never came out and greet me and the other customers are waiting bad service.
I received excellent, efficient and compassionate care from Dr Vargas. I am so very glad that I found him. The other big plus for me is that his office is well stocked with braces, splints etc.pretty much any thing one would need clinically- so it’s one stop shopping. The icing on the cake is the products available for pampering oneself—creams, foot soaks and my favorite- GEL SOCKS!
In the Past I would have given five Stars, but lately I have not been happy with the treatment.
My Son had a surgery scheduled and Dr. Johnson didn't even know that my son had one scheduled. Someone dropped the ball in her office!
5 stars for Dr. Johnson as a doctor.
FIND ANOTHER PODIATRIST! I was told I needed bunion surgery and the surgery coordinator would contact me. After a week with no contact, I began to leave messages that went unreturned. They never called and never scheduled. Then they contacted me for post op. Post op? I had no surgery!
This one is very long, but please read. There are four main points I address: a) slow reception, b) extremely questionable treatment, c) poor patient care, and d) odd fees/useless treatments.a) I've been here 3 times, but it honestly felt like 5. Every time I came in for my appointment, I had to wait over 30 minutes until I could see the doctor. I overheard a customer complaining directly to the receptionist, who replied that they were understaffed. Regardless, it was an annoyance.b) On my 2nd visit, I told them about some on-and-off foot pain I've had for years. After an X-ray, they told me it was a stress fracture, but they never explained anything more about it and gave me little chance to ask. They handed me two boots - one to use at night and one to wear during the day. They told me as long as I used these, my foot would recover. My third appointment was a follow-up on my stress fracture, and when I showed up, foot still in pain, the doctor told me that I was supposed to get physical therapy. I'm very frustrated by this response - if the doctor doesn't tell me I need it, then how am I supposed to know? I've never been injured before, and I even asked the doctors during my 2nd appointment if I might need it. They told me I didn't. This 3rd appointment, they offered me additional insteps to correct my foot. When I expressed doubt about whether the instep, which was given to me a size too large, would fit in my shoe, the nurse brushed me off and told me if would be fine. It was not. I could not for the life of me fit it inside my shoe.c) Something else that bothered me terribly was the staff's attitude towards my mother. Both the attending doctor and nurse behaved this way. When they told her about what was going on with my feet, they spoke quickly, which is fine for a native speaker. However, my mother is an immigrant. Although she can understand and speak English normally, complicated medical terminology and rapid speaking is very difficult for her. Even I couldn't really understand what they were saying. Instead of elaborating further (their diagnoses and treatment suggestions were already very vague and brief; after hearing them I did not feel confident that I would be able to properly carry out my care at home), they would turn to me and ask me to explain to my mom instead. It just felt very lazy and disrespectful. As a health professional, you should be prepared for any type of patient and prioritize their care. Refusing to repeat anything even once or elaborate on a single thing is plain incompetence.d) I have been receiving mailed bills with vague names and high prices, even though we already paid at the office immediately after each appointment - much more than $100 per visit. This week I received another bill for $130, but there is no explanation for this. Furthermore, throughout my treatment process I have been receiving questionably useful products and expensive medication. My 1st appointment was an ingrown toenail surgery, and when we contacted CVS, the pharmacy told us that there was another medication that would serve the same purpose for $50 cheaper if we wanted to switch from the doctor-recommended prescription. The boots prescribed in the 2nd appointment were hundreds of dollars combined, and the insteps from the 3rd appointment were around $100 as well. Every cost was surprisingly high, especially for their general ineffectiveness. None of the offered treatments, from the medication to the insteps, did as the doctor promised. The medication was supposed to clear out my blood clot/staining on my toenails, the boots were supposed to correct my stress fracture, and the insteps were supposed to do the same. They did not. In fact, the doctor said he would connect us with a physical therapist for my fracture after the 3rd appointment, but the office never contacted us again.
I'm truly astounded. My mother went once and had an amazing experience with Dr. Johnson, so we didn't check the reviews, but if I had I would've read the other negative reviews with many likes and never gone.
Horrible doctor, horrible clinic, horrible communication. Stay away from this place at all cost! 4 days without pain meds after having surgery is ridiculous…. How are you going to send a surgery patient home with no pain medicine or antibiotics? I will be looking for a way to file a formal complaint since no clinic should ever be operating the way this Clint operates…. Fyi I have insurance and my insurance took care of most of it and they claimed I still had to pay since insurance hadn’t paid… another lie
I cannot fault my experience here. It was my first time at a foot specialist. Dr Marcielo was delightful, proficient and talked me gently through the procedure. Melanie the nurse was equally kind and caring. They even called me the next day to check on me. First class!
Not only are they knowledgeable and helpful, they are very kind. They advocated for me on my workers comp claim! I’m thankful they were there to help!
This place has nice doctors which is the only reason I gave 2 stars. The wait times are insane. You can have an appointment for 9: 15 am and not leave till 12 pm. They also charge you so much for everything. I find myself paying copays left and right for multiple tests done on a small tear in my foot. Then I get hit with an email weeks later saying the insurance didn’t pay and I have to pay the remainder (which is just mind boggling to me). Overall it’s a decent place but just be wary of the wait times and insane testing asked of you every visit.
