I could not recommend this bike shop enough! I purchased a new Revel Ranger from Avery. He’s a fantastic mechanic & he really knows his stuff. There’s no pushy sales. He’s all about getting you in the correct bike. The communication was amazing from recommending the correct bike for my terrain, to arranging to get the bike in stock, to putting it all together. I couldn’t be happier.

Jesse is awesome. He helped me decide exactly which bike is right for me after listening to how I like to ride and guiding me through the demo process. I found my dream bike and Jesse continues to help when I have questions or recommendations that I ask for. If I have any help needed with returns or repairs, Jesse makes it seamless and ensures I have what I need to keep wheels on the dirt. I've never experienced customer service like I've received at Velorangutan!

Exceptional service. Extraordinarily friendly and informative team, inviting, and welcoming and happy to help. Didn’t make a purchase this time as their e-bike selection is limited but if you want kindhearted honest people to do business with, this is the place to go!

Velorangutan is by far the best bike shop I have ever done business with. The customer service and expertise offered by Adam, Avery and Jesse has been unmatched by any other shop I have been to in Austin. They have the greatest selection of high end mountain bikes and they enjoy talking about them in a way you only get when people love what they do. Adam helped me build my dream bike (a custom Revel Rail) and walked me through ever choice I had step by step until it was exactly as I wanted it.

Do not hesitate to make your next bike purchase here, because these guys really go above and beyond on everything they do.

Seriously the best shop in Austin, Jesse and the dudes helped set me up with a demo bike to check for sizing and helped adjust and change things around when I finally purchased an Ibis. Extremly helpful, tons of parts on hand, great bike brands, and all around good folks.

Hands down the best bike shop in town! The owner and his crew are top notch service providers with terrific customer service. They will educate you rather than sell you! That goes a long way with me. Their bike selections are top of the line as well. This is the gold level of bike shops in my opinion! Great job guys!

They have bike demos! This store may have a small space but they have a lot of really nice bikes and components. This store has a better inventory of good parts and bikes than most. The staff is really helpful and passionate about cycling.

Nice retail selection, service communication was lacking; overpromising ETAs, requiring weekly calls to move the service along. Pain points ultimately derived from more demand than one service tech could handle. Hopefully they've hired another to assist with the load.

Everytime I've gone to the shop they've had what I'm looking for and have been nice to talk with.

The best bike shop I have ever been to. Jesse and Adam were super patient with me and let me take home four different demo bikes (for free) over a four week period. I hadn't bought a new mountain bike in 20 years and they took the time to explain the new geometry, suspension, components and general vocabulary terms. The owner, Wes, even called me at home after hours just to talk bikes and build options. He encouraged me to take my time and make sure I got the exact bike I wanted/needed for my riding style. I ended up with an Ibis Ripley and Wes did some customizations to make it one of a kind. Skip the shops with big egos and pushy sales people! Velorangutan is the way to go!

Locally owned business that is all about providing the best riding experience possible. These folks talked me through all my options, asked about what type of riding I do, what area of town, etc. No high pressure 'up-sell', just sold me what I needed to get back onto the trails. Ok, I bought a little more than I 'needed'. Great Shop- Great peeps!

I had such a great experience with the guys at Velorangutan! I brought in a bent wheel and they took care of the wheel, dealing with the warranty, and ensuring I was all set. When things took longer than expected, they set me up with a demo so I could pedal over the weekend. Very customer-oriented and precise with their work. Do yourself a favor and come here for all your two-wheeled needs!

Such a fantastic bike shop! I was in the market for a shorter travel mountain bike and was initially looking at the Revel Ranger. When I saw Velorangutan offered a demo program I knew I found my new LBS! A Ranger wasn't in the demo fleet but a Rascal was and a weekend later I learned I would have likely bottomed out frequently on a Ranger. Demo'd a Ripley that was great, but after talking to Jesse and Wes a Rascal was on the way. With choked supply chains in this COVID era I was expecting a long build out time but the guys at the shop worked with me on options and I have my dream build, and just a few short weeks later too. Big props to the team at Velo for looking out for their customers. The only place in town I know that'll really let you demo a quality bike and honestly.who wants to dish out a bunch of $$$ for a bike they later learn isn't quite what they were looking for? They steered my from a possibly regretful decision and I appreciate with each ride on the Rascal I got. I only wish I found this place sooner.

I've lived and ridden in Austin for 30 years and have frequented countless bike shops. Wes and his crew at velorangutan have been the most laid back and professional shop of them all and fully stand behind what they sell and the work they do. Don't let the nondescript exterior fool you. This place is legit.

Every person who works here is super friendly and helpful. Making customers happy seems to be all they care about and the demo program is the best anywhere.

I love this bike shop! If you are serious about purchasing a top level mountain bike and want the best customer service, this is your place. Ibis, Revel, Orbea, Industry Nine, etc.they have the goods! They offer free bike demos too and are very knowledgeable. Between the free demo's and their excellent advice, it was a no brainer for me to make my next bike purchase through them.

This great shop will set you up with the perfect bike for you. They know all the potential options, and will get you what you need.

I was in Houston for work a few weeks back and had the pleasure of purchasing my Ibis Ripley AF through Velorangutan. This shop was nothing short of professional during the entirety of the transaction. I waited a few weeks to leave this review to make sure the bike was "wrenched" correctly and it has not let me down yet. This means alot as I live in Florida and would have to visit my LBS for any corrections. I would 100% do business with this shop again if I was local. For those curious, Covid protocol was in place among employees and customers.
