If you want to sing your heart out, you can do it here! Nobody will judge your performance either. They'll just love you for stepping out! Great staff! The only reason I give it a 4 is because the music/singer is so loud in there, that my ears were ringing for a while after I left. And I was sitting back at the bar. Ha!

My name is Karen but hear me out—Haha In all seriousness this place was disappointing. It was a very trashy establishment, it was incredibly overpriced for a mediocre environment, had aggressive and unpleasant staff, etc. Go elsewhere while in Fredericksburg.

This is a MUST GO place for me every time I’m in Fredericksburg. Love the atmosphere and the service it is a BLAST every time I go.

Came here after dinner. It was still early and the music was on point. The espresso martini was probably one of the best drinks I have had.

Will definitely be back. We came so early it hadn’t started getting going. But this place looks fun.

Was enjoying myself until my whole party of 12 got kicked out because we ordered a water for someone. Paid "extra" to get in and they kicked us out 20mins later. Don't go tipsy or you won't get service and the people they let in aren't "texas" style they treated us TRASH

So overpriced. $12 for Skrewball shots that cost $24 for a 750ml bottle, and they serve it in a plastic cup that looks like ketchup would come in - and that is after the $10 cover. Also, there are 2 single bathrooms and the lines take forever. We were here 45 min and spent 30+ min standing in the bathroom line. Crossroads had amazing bands, is way more upscale, and drink prices were ~half comparatively.

Here I am. Second bad review. If it weren’t for the HORRIBLE blonde manager, this place would be amazing. She only likes locals. We were there for 2 hours and carried the entertainment for those 2 hours. Literally no idea what stronghold is but is needs to be reduced. Paid for all drinks, charged for gratuity twice.
Literally had issues with this manager for 4 years. Completely DONE now. Hope the owner reads these. She’s killing your business.

This has been a terrible experience everytime we’ve come here. The manager is SO rude, so disrespectful, and so dismissive. If the owner reads this… Christine is ruining your business! There’s a reason you have 2 stars on yelp! This is sad!

I've brought numerous friends from out of town here, and not once have they been disappointed. In fact, it's become a tradition, one that we all look forward to.

Disgustingly ran business that left a bad taste in my mouth for Fredericksburg. Started out fun, we were paying $200 (!) per hour for VIP tables and were ready to continue paying that all night before the GM Christine decided to kick us out for? She couldn't provide a reason except our friend looked sleepy. I think it was because we were a large group of gay men. All of us were well behaved and playing good songs the whole bar was enjoying. I will NEVER return here and hope it sees its last days SOON. My only compliment is that our server was nice and he deserved for us to stay and tip him generously at the end of the night.but nope, we didn't get the chance to show our appreciation after we were suddenly kicked out without ANY reason. GO ELSEWHERE!

We were told we were not buying enough drinks, and then we’re told we were too drunk and were kicked out.it was the weirdest experience I have ever had at a bar.

Horrible experience here. From the comments, this seems to be a trend. We got asked to leave because the General Manager, Christine, said someone in our group was too drunk and couldn’t be there anymore. Our friend was not too drunk and was simply singing along with the songs just like everyone else in the bar. Confused as to why we were selected from the crowd, whether it was a race or sexual orientation issue is still a possibility. Will not be back and would not recommend to others.

This place is awful! We got kicked out because we were not drinking enough. Insane! We weren’t drinking a ton and because we weren’t sloppy we were asked to leave. So crazy what an awful place!

We had a great time until we got kicked out. First we were told we had to leave because we weren’t drinking (but no waiter was coming to our table). Then we were told to leave because we were too drunk. I have never been kicked out of a place so sober. It was fun but the staff was awful and rude.

Wasn't my cup of tea. Mostly because I was hungry and didn't want Mexican food. Also, Wasn't a fan of having to ad an app to my phone just to see the menu. The overpriced shot I ordered was bad. The Karaoke was fun.

The bartender turned us away after having 1 drink before saying one of our friends was too drunk. Picked and chose who could go into the bar as 21 WITH A COVER CHARGE.was going to have my bachelorette party here and bring hundreds of dollars to the bar because it was the one we were most excited to go to. But ABSOLUTELY NOT after the interaction with the bouncer that we had. Completely rude and uncalled for. It was either Christine or Destiny and it was a horrible experience.

Great karaoke bar with really friendly service and a lively atmosphere. Drinks were a little expensive though.

Had a great time walking into the velvet lounge on an easy Monday night. The bartenders were friendly and helpful right off the bat! The drinks were great which makes the karaoke only sound better lol! Christine was the most hospital, giving us great recommendations and good company. We’ll make this a staple after just 1 visit

The Velvet Lounge was an awesome place to spend an evening. Although you have to get there SUPER early to get a seat, it's worth the wait! I would have liked the rotation of singers to be a little more diverse, but I understand the DJ's need to keep up the hype! Overall, awesome place with awesome energy!
