I lived at VMD for 3+ years. The first year was great. Management took pride in the property. The manager and head maintenance supervisor walked each floor everyday.

Then, the property was bought by Hines. Quick management turnover. The latest manager, Torrie Holmes, is the worst. She lies, never walks the property and does not treat tenants with respect.

This used to be a high-end property but no more. Perhaps it's because the majority of the tenants is medical students/interns residing at VMD for a short while.

Torrie Holmes would not renew my lease basing her decision that VMD didn't want unhappy tenants.

I'm still considering a retaliation lawsuit.

As my wife and I are bringing our year and a half at Venue to an end, we look back on our time here with bittersweet smiles at the wonderful times we had in our first home together, but which we are now leaving behind. Kind neighbors, great amenities, and excellent staff all made it especially difficult to drive away for the last time. Many thanks especially to Chelsea, for always being so bright, polite, and helpful. We could not have asked for a better place to spend our foundational time as a couple, and we would take everyone with us if we could. Please do yourself a favor and book a tour!

Chelsea gave my boyfriend and I an exceptional tour of Venue Museum District. The building was beautiful, the tenants were happy, and the apartments were spacious and brimming with natural light. The location is unparalleled, and everything was sparkling clean. We were so impressed by the property and Chelsea was incredibly helpful and candid with all of our questions! We felt so lucky to have been paired with such a kind person for our visit; it really made the experience so smooth and easy. Thank you Venue!

Update 2/3/22:

I made this review hoping that someone would see it, but I did not expect to hear back from this community at all! I was pleasantly surprised when I had two voicemails immediately from Tori wanting to hear back from me on exactly what happened and how they could make it better- music to my ears! I got to view the property yesterday, which is amazing just like I thought it would be. Stephen did the actual tour, but Tori made it a point to check in with us during and to apologize on the behalf of the community, again. They were both very pleasant and accommodating, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I haven't made my decision just yet, but of course they're at the top! I am just so happy that things were smoothed over and I look forward to either renting there now or in the near future! Thank you two again so much!

I sent an email requesting information on an apartment— I got the wrong information. I thought, no problem! The website says to come in for a tour, so I went on Saturday.

Saturday, there looked to be only one leasing agent and two other sets of individuals inquiring on the property. We sat (went unacknowledged) and waited for her to finish with the first group. Once that completed she, Chelsea, moved on to another young lady and asked concierge to come to the front— it was at this time we were asked about wanting water. Concierge finally came out and let us know that there needs to be an appointment made. I was confused because the website didn’t indicate that. Chelsea also didn’t mention that these were her only appointments and we might possibly be there by error. No worries, I mentioned the website doesn’t say that but the response was the website “glitches a lot”, but I need to go on said website to make an appointment. At this time, Chelsea stepped in to take my name and number for an appointment the next day— Sunday.

Sunday, I arrived at my appointment time, same concierge yet no Chelsea. I got an apology for her having an emergency— no problem, things happen. But I asked why I wasn’t informed to not come and the concierge didn’t have an answer— no problem!

Monday, I knew today that I would have time between patients, and with COVID most places do virtually tours, so I get online. It indeed gave options for in person or on the phone— I chose the phone at 2 PM. Finally, after approx 30-40 minutes past my time for a call, I reached out and Chelsea answered the phone. I explained my obvious frustrations with the above, she did apologize for not being there Sunday, but said she “wasn’t going to stop my emergency to cancel appointments”. That sentiment is fine and understandable, so I inquired why I hadn’t received a call this morning now that she’s back in office. She had no response, but said she saw my appointment for in person today. I explained I chose the phone option which she responded with there being “glitching” having multiple appointments at the same time, etc but they don’t do virtual tours. Ok! I still let her know my frustrations as a nurse and mom with a heavy workload, scheduling a tour should’ve been simple! I expected her to try to accommodate for the mishaps, but Chelsea became defensive and rude. We had an exchange and I reminded her of my occupation (that she didn’t know when she first saw me and decided not to call or follow up) and also reminded her of how many apartments are in the market and within reach. Chelsea, if you’re reading this, as I was educating you on the phone: I’m a very well paid customer giving feedback on the bad communication, and instead of stating that you’ll address it and rectify the situation, by maybe gathering when I’m wanting to move or offering to send me floor plans, you decided to become nasty. I really hope I wasn’t being judged based on my appearance, especially since you were rude to the concierge who also looks like me. It’s unfortunate because these apartments are nice, but there are plenty of others who have employees with much better customer service.

The Venue is a beautiful place and I have been really happy here as a resident for the past 4 years. The apartments feature the most spacious floor-plans in the entire loop. They also have condo quality finishes and concrete construction. The staff and maintenance team have been top notch! Thanks for everything you do!

We had lived there for over 2 years and then when we moved out they tried to charge us an additional $2k claiming damage to the wood floor. The "damage" was some extremely lite scratching in one small area where a kitchen table had been and when asked to justify that amount it came out that they had actually refinished the floors in the entire apartment after we had moved out and were trying to get us to pay for it.

Its been a wild ride under these COVID "daze", but the concierge and management staff have been making a conscientious effort to make the apartment seem cozy and "normal" despite everything that has been unfolding around us. I really appreciate the neighborly effort and personalized touches from Tory and staff- its the little things that matter! I hope that people notice AND can all be understanding + patient with one another during these trying times. I am thankful to be here. Gracias yall!

I moved here to be closer to the medical center. This place is a hidden gem! The apartments are huge and very pretty. The staff is amazing and always ready to help, they keep things working smoothly and organize events to keep the residents happy and promote networking. The location is unique, very close to the metro stations and walking distance to Hermann Park and all the museums. They are super pet friendly, our dog is very happy here!

Chelsea gave my boyfriend and I a wonderful tour of the apartments at the Venue. She was very kind and honest about what she loved in this place, including the exciting renovations to be done on things she didn't love so much. We fell in love with the apartments and all they have to offer thanks to Chelsea!

We called many times and they promised to call back.never did and full of lies. I do not believe the good reviews I saw here, they are most likely to be the people who work for this company. Avoid this place unless you have tons of time to wait for their reply.so shady.

I lived here for four years as a resident, went to Boston for my fellowship training, and knew I wanted to move back to Venue since I was going to be working in the Texas Medical Center. I've been back here for the last two years and love the amenities, convenience off the Light Rail, and proximity to job (Memorial Hermann Hospital). Maintenance issues are addressed quickly, and the complex recently underwent a renovation. Quiet, affordable, and great location!

I’ve been staying here for 4 months now, and it’s been pretty great! They keep the place pretty clean, and I’m always seeing them sanitize everything constantly! My apartment is pretty quiet and spacious for me. I love the amenities, and how close the apartment is to everything I want to do. The staff is also great, and Miriam is phenomenal. She has made this temporary move so much easier!
