Vergi 24/7, Houston TX

I had an awful experience at Vergi and will never go back. I will make sure none of my friends ever go there either. My dog clearly had conjunctivitis (yellow mucus buildup and bloodshot eyes), but it was suggested that her abdomen be X-rayed out of fear that she may have something more severe. It cost $600 and it was completely unnecessary. My regular vet properly diagnosed and treated it in 15 minutes at a cost of $60 the next day.

The whole visit took five hours and I was never provided any updates during the wait. Instead, I had to call hourly and deal with the clueless receptionist to get any information. Early on, I sat in my car after pre-paying for the procedure, only to receive a call an hour later asking if I had checked my email yet. The poor quality of animal care and lack of compassion these people have is deeply disturbing.

I took my cat here because of her her eyes was swollen and not dilating properly. They said she probably scratched it and gave me tobrymycin. A couple days later I took her to memorial vet clinic and said she could have glaucoma so they referred me to a opthomologist. The opthomologist ended up diagnosing her with primary glaucoma. If I went off of what vergi clinic told me my cat would have gone blind. Very disappointed. It also took them 5 hrs to see my cat and the staff was rude.

I have been counting on Vergi for about 15 years now and have always found their staff to be prompt and professional. On several occasions I have driven friends to Vergi with their pets in emergency circumstances. The doctors are personable and very well trained. One of my visits to Vergi required a miracle to save my dog, but they did it. I find their fees to be very reasonable. They are focused on excellent emergency veterinary care rather than profit.

I took my dog, a miniature schnauzer, to them on 2/17. My dog had begun vomiting and pooping blood and wouldn't even stand. I pulled into a parking spot and called them with my concerns. They came out and got her to bring to the veterinarian. They immediately brought her back out and said she WASN'T an urgent case. I would have to wait 6 hours minimum to be seen, IF they could even get me in. I had no choice but to look for other help.

Less than 24 hours later she was admitted to the icu for critical blood loss at another animal hospital (AllPets). She was so sick at that point. She required blood transfusions and IV steroids. She didn’t make it.

Vergi should be ashamed of themselves for neglecting to provide medical care to a critically ill pet. What a disgusting place to call an animal hospital. Don't ever go here. Just a warning to people who love their pets like family.

This place killed my parents dog, he came in for stomach issues and the endoscopic cord they put down his throat punctured his stomach lining and killed him with Sepsis days later. They tried to cover it up too, asking to hold him a few more days to get to the bottom of things. After my parents physically grabbed and took the dog away from them, they then tried to overcharge them another $1600 dollars almost a week later. Dont take your dog here if you want good care.

Thought this was #1 24/7 animal clinic in Houston (out of 2, I guess). First experience was pretty bad. I dropped my dog at 10am with some respiratory concerns. They told me they would do lab work and call in a couple hours. After 5h with no news I called. I was placed on hold for a good 10 min before hanging out, called back, they said they were busy and would call me, 30 min after, no call. I called again and finally got an update. At this point my poor dog had been there for over 6h or 7h with almost no work up done. Finally, they told me she had pneumonia. I came to pick her up and waited 1 hour and a half for them to bring her out. INSANE. I’m a physician and work routinely in a pediatric ED and no matter how busy they are, their lack of timely updates and waiting time without letting owners know it’s so inappropriate. They did NOT give any treatment in the 10h she was there so if she was diagnosed with pneumonia, why in the hell wouldn’t you start treatment right away? ! Honestly, I think pets probably get sicker in there without treatment, attention or even water! (Yes, they don’t even give water to them. I specifically asked the lady to brought her outside and she said they don’t typically do unless they’re hospitalized. My poor dog got home and drank her whole bowl of water in 2 seconds). I would avoid this place as much as possible. I’ll update my review if at least medically, the treatment works. Go to Sunset clinic. This place is just awful.

I am beyond thankful with Vergi, by far the best hospital ever! God bless this place! With the help of God and very good doctor they saved my dogs life.
Excellent service, they sent me photos of my dog to keep me updated that he was doing good!
They are not like other hospitals (sunset) that are expensive just to end up killing animals...
I’m very happy with Vergi, not expensive and on top of it they re found any extra money they didn’t use.

Terrible service. My dog became ill in the night with black stool. I took him into Vergi due to other Emergency Vets being busy with surgeries. We got there around 3am. They did not update me, I called several times, and a receptionist hung up on me when I asked if they had an estimate about how long they would be keeping my dog. By noon that day I had had enough. When I picked him up, he had a huge mass on his side. They did not explain to me what it was until I noticed it when I got home. It was due to his testing, which is totally fine, but not informing the owner is incredibly unprofessional. I do not recommend this, nor will I ever go back.

The service here is by far the worst I have experienced in the veterinary industry. 1 star for this place is like giving a Motel 6 five star status.

I brought my 10 month old golden retriever in due to vomiting (9 times) and diarrhea throughout the day including being very lethargic. I arrived (6: 15pm) and it took an hour before I received a call from the doctor. They recommended an X-ray be performed. I was told by the DOCTOR that it would be about two hours for results and then her assistant said it would be less than two hours for results. It took them FIVE hours to get the results back. I called them at 3,4, and 5 hours. When I called in the 5th hour (1: 00am) they told me they received the results and to let them call me back for when I could go pick her up so the process would be smooth and I wouldn't have to wait on anything (paperwork). Received the call at 1: 45am. Arrived (2: 05am) and I waited for over FOURTY minutes to pick up my puppy. Once I got my puppy the vet tech started walking away. I had to stop him to ask where the $85 in medicine that I just paid them for was!

On top of this, my puppy had a blowout in the kennel during all of this time with them and she wasn't cleaned properly and still smells like diarrhea. I am not whatsoever confident in the quality of care provided for my puppy during this nightmare experience.

My Vet recommended I take my dog here since they were closing for NYE. They definitely take advantage of the fact that people are desperate and love thier pets with thier pricing. They charge an arm and a leg and you will pay before any services are even given. It would appear they only care about money and not really helping. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Any time day or night, caring vet expertise for your sick or injured pet. They are very clear about costs up front.

They prey on people who love and care for their pets. Luckily I was able to see past their scams and the regular vet opened up early. These people do not care about you or your pet. All they care about is getting as much money from you as possible. They wanted over $1000 to treat an illness that our regular vet treated for an exam fee and a $20 medication. They try to play on your emotions to get your money.

Can't say enough god things about Vergi. The facility is always super clean, even in the back area, where we have been allowed to view pets in isolation. Doctors and techs are top notch, friendly and super compassionate and give frequent updates. They are also supplied with the most current veterinary research and great equipment.

Very professional and caring staff. Not a long wait. Took great care of my adopted dog who had run away and been on the lam for 8 days.

Open. Fast. Polite & informative. Assessed and prescribed medication for my dog after dropping in on a Sunday as going to our regular get would have conflicted with work. We were seen quickly and there was no unnecessary delay in the whole treatment process. Medication we were given has cured the issue that my dog had, so we're very happy.

It’s a murder clinic, not a vet clinic. They should be ashamed of themselves and give up their licenses.

The amount of money they ask for is ridiculous! Because you are basically out of options at that point they try and get as much out of you as possible. They don’t care about your animals, they care about a check. End of story. Do not come here.

Best emergency vet in Houston. They are very knowledgable and compassionate. A bit expensive but totally worth it.

My cat was seen promptly. Diagnostics and treatment options were discussed and we went home with everything we needed to get my cat started toward wellness again.
