9Very good safe atmosphere. Drinks aren't watered down. Music could be better for dancing in the bigger area but overall, a good time to be had there
My spouse and I, both karaoke enthusiasts, initially hoped for a professional discussion on best hospitality practices. Sadly, effective communication seems impossible, leading us to consider legal action. While acknowledging the right to refuse service, it's crucial to avoid discrimination, harassment, and legal violations. Despite our numerous attempts, fueled by love for African American individuals and veterans, the issue persists. Verbal discussions have proven futile, prompting us to pursue formal grievances. This matter isn't one we can easily dismiss.
While it is true that businesses generally possess the right to refuse service, it is crucial to emphasize that this right is not absolute. Discrimination, harassment, negligence, and any actions that violate the law are not protected by the right to refuse service. Businesses are obligated to adhere to anti-discrimination laws, maintain a safe environment, and conduct their operations in accordance with the law.
Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, or other protected characteristics is strictly prohibited. Harassment, whether verbal or otherwise, creates a hostile environment and is legally unacceptable. Negligence in providing a safe and secure space for patrons can lead to legal consequences.
We’ve contacted Kevin and arranged a meeting this week after speaking with Vivian nothing has changed. November 23rd, unfortunately, on Thursday, faculty and staff were absent, and (name unknown) disruptive behavior recurred again. One person's actions can impact the collective, emphasizing the importance of avoiding discrimination, harassment, and negligence, even with the right to refuse service. The VFW has faced legal consequences for similar violations, and it appears (name unknown) actions reflect on the organization, indicating tacit approval.
EVERYTIME I come from DFW, it's worth it! The DJs, prices, food, and staff are fiyah!
I would not recommend this establishment unless you are specifically African American or a Veteran.
My husband and I enjoy Karaoke and have been attending the Thursday Karaoke nights at this venue consistently over the past few months.
The very first night we attended I was reprimanded for recording my husband as he was singing Karaoke and we were asked to leave the establishment shortly there after. I was spellbound and confused.so much so that I asked one of the staff outside the door if it's because I am a foreigner because I was genuinely confused about what just happened.
Ok, we moved past that incident and attended other times after that. I felt the microagressions each time but have thick skin so laughed each subsequent incident off with my husband and kept it moving.
The subsequent incidents include, but are not limited to:
a. The microphone being grabbed from my hand by a woman who left her seat and walked up on the stage specifically with the intent of confronting or embarrassing me for whatever reason that only she knows.b. Being let in by the security at front and then once we got in the same male that harassed me about recording the first time we visited informed my husband that "She can't come in here open like that" lol.
As someone in my forties that has lived/trevelled to multiple cities and countries I have never felt this level of discriminatory application of establishment "rules" anywhere. I can assure you that I have witnessed people recording with their phones with my own two eyes at this establishment and also witnessed women with sundresses, short skirts/pants, midriffs out, cleavage and etc. Apparently the rules get applied differently for me.
If you are new to town or a foreigner, or just different looking/sounding definitely skip this establishment unless you enjoy mircroagressions and disrespect.
I used to love this place now I will never go back! They don’t want you wearing certain clothes they don’t want you dancing a certain way or they put you out!
Every time I go I enjoy myself. Good people, vibe is nice, food good and the good music. It's a grown adult feel to the place. If this is the type of place you were looking for. Go check it out.
I'm a member of this Post good people and a great atmosphere. We need more good people to come to join and make it even better.
Always crowded. Good place for vets and family to chill. Occasionally, family events for all
