Village Health Partners - Independence Medical Village reviews
20 Service is good in general.
But their phone system sucks. No way to connect if you have questions.
App is great. But the messaging part of the app sucks. No response even after 2 days.
The staff at VH on Independence are always so very nice and helpful. Great Girls at the desk.
“I was very pleased with my experience at Village Health Partners-Indepence. I can be a hard critic of medical facilities and the people employed by them. Combine that attitude with an innate crankiness when I’m not feeling at all well and the result can be much less than pleasant. This last few visits have been a world away from previous experiences elsewhere. It was good to be treated with professionalism and care. When I say Dr. Castle and all the other employees of the Village Health Partners made me feel that I was in safe hands and even made me smile when I left, then you can believe they are the best. I am truly grateful and won’t get that awful feeling of dread the next time I get sick and am unable to see my physician. I appreciated their follow-up and willingness to answer questions also. A big thank you to all of them. ”
Great place great doctors convenient but hard to make an appointment sometimes it's not like your regular family doctor. I may be the only one that has a hard time I wouldn't doubt it but I wouldn't doubt it if others said they had the same experience
Dr. Ryan Hewitt at Village Health Partners is very helpful and knowledgeable doctor, he takes his time to treat you and also stays in touch with you via patient portal. Thank you, Dr. Hewitt!
I have been to the independence location a few times for different reasons and all of the staff in the areas I have been to are exceptionally nice. Wait times were minimal. The place was very clean. Signs are posted to let you know where to go - labs and room numbers are clearly marked making it easy to navigate. There is an elevator and stairs as well. - Laura Billingsley FNP is absolutely wonderful and I would highly recommend her!
This place has made a lot of changes over the years. (Spring Creek location) I'm not sure the last few have been helpful to anyone (dr's or patients) except the corporation. Doctors r required to virtually connect with 3rd party when reviewing your drug list. Part of the time u can speak with your dr in private.but not always (CYA-for corporation). Check-in is smoother.as long as u r ok with sitting in waiting for them to open a room. U roam the halls looking for your assigned room & then wait for someone to show up. Billing has been a mess. Getting in to see actual dr.hard. Seeing a different PA each time.much easier. $$ savings for corporation. I've stayed here for a long time because i like my dr. Liane Kibel-fantastic, but getting in to see her.rare. Especially in a must be seen in a day or two situation.
I would love to give a great review, but my father who’s a senior citizen waited months for his appointment, then at arrival was told that he had no appointment and now has to wait even longer for his examination. At this age, every minute counts and for them to behave like this is very unprofessional and unkind. I hope either management or faculty can put the great resources of Plano to good use rather than wasting away everyone’s time.
Horrible front office staff (the lady with scanty hair on the top of her head). Waited and reminded her two times but no action for an hour to get to the nurse. Finally had to go to other staff to get to the nurse. Ego and Attitude is not good for medical business.
Thank you Ms. Marquita for your patience and thank you for your excellent skill in taking blood. You made my blood work not as scary as I thought it will be. I will ALWAYS try to request for you anytime blood work is required.
I had a really bad experience this past week and wanted to leave behind a review.
I always get my blood work done in an external lab before my regularly scheduled appointment with a doctor here. Last week, I had a fasting lab appointment and upon arrival in the lab, I learnt that that the lab hadn’t received the lab order from Village Health Partners electronically. I drove all the way to Independence Medical Village to get a physical copy of my lab order so that next week (i.e. This week) I can do my lab work. Their front desk gave me the copy; there was no apology for the inconvenience that I was going through.
Today, I went back for my fasting lab work; upon arrival, they told me that I had been provided with a wrong lab order by Village Heath Partners. They made out the order to a different lab company that I have never been to. I had to call the doctor’s office several times over the next hour to get them to send the correct order by fax. I finally got my fasting blood work done at 1030 instead of at 820. Again, there was no apology for the error second week in a row.
I understand that Village Health Partners have expanded their services and geographic footprint. But their service quality has been pretty awful lately. Administrative staff members are rude, and appears to be incompetent. Very disappointed.
I have been Dr Fullington’s patient for 5-6 years. I have nothing but only good things to say about the doctor. He is very easy to talk to. He really takes his time to listen to his patients, without ever feeling rushed.
I can go on and on about his excellent service. I’m very pleased that he is my doctor.
I hate going to the doctor but it’s always a pleasant experience with Dr Nguy and the team at Village Health Partners. She takes the time to focus on all my health questions/concerns and performs a very thorough evaluation. 5-stars.
I checked into the lab using the touch screen. It requested my first name. I wasn't sure if my legal name was on the file so I entered my nickname and last name. The receipt is called me to the counter to confirm, I told her my last name, then my nick name and also said that the labs might be under my nick name. She was unable to locate the orders so I went next door to get a paper copy. When I returned she stated " No wonder. You gave me the wrong name. How do you expect me to find your name I if you don't know your name? You didn't even tell me the right last name". I apologized for the miscommunication. She again began to berated me about not giving her correct information and was very loud and rude. One of the other patients in the waiting room even came up and talked to me, apologizing about how I was being treated.
I will not be returning to this office.
Dr. Ponder took her time to go through everything with me during my annual physical and talk about the details. I really appreciated that. She has a kindness in her approach, no judgment, and very positive about things and encouraged me to take things in stride and not be too hard on myself. To celebrate the small victories.
I was there for my annual physical. Impressed with P. A. Rady. She took the time to read my chart and clean it up before I arrived, so she was prepared with what to focus the most time on. I rated four stars, only because we ran out of time to address a separate concern. Next time I will request more time.
I don't have to wait months to get in to see my doctor. I have never waited more than 10 minutes to be called back for my visit. Everyone is friendly and my results are posted to my online portal almost immediately as they are received. I love that the lab is only steps away, in the same hallway!
I work in healthcare and expect better. This was hands down the worst experience I've ever had. I was in the office for a total of 4 hours. The doctor was 1.5 hours late. The office staff misspelled my name and entered other information incorrectly. The lab had the wrong last name, I asked if this would be an issue, they changed it on the requisition and tubes. I called after a week to double check, assured my lab work was run. Someone told me a coordinator would touch base about my experience. Never heard back. Called again, was put on hold for 20 mins, then someone put me back through the same automation menu. After I finally got a callback, I was informed my lab work is missing. Go figure. Worst experience ever.
The doctors here are great but trying to set up an appointment or get a controlled prescription filled is absolutely impossible!
I lost one of my prescriptions a few weeks ago and since it’s a controlled substance I had to wait until the next month when it would be available to refill. (Totally fine) but now that it’s available to refill I’ve been on hold multiple times for anywhere between 25 minutes to an hour and a half.
I’ve talked to three different assistants who said they would send my prescription over for approval.
After waiting the 48 hour turnaround time I followed up with my pharmacy who said they had no record of any prescriptions being called in.
I’ve called three more times since to follow up with a nurses assistant or literally anyone on the phone to see if my script had been called in. I wasn’t able to get in touch with anyone and am still waiting to hear back.
While waiting for calls back I tried to message on the patient portal and no one has responded to me aside from one doctor who can’t approve my prescription to begin with.
I feel like I’ve been given the run around.
I understand they’re most likely understaffed and over worked so I’ve tried my hardest to be patient but at this point I’m frustrated.
I have been a patient with Village Health Partners for many years. Dr Todd Wien is my primary care physician. He is excellent. A strong Christian and caring doctor. Todd always takes the time to listen during my appointments. I highly recommend him.
