Virgie's BBQ & Catering reviews
13Food was mediocre at best. Girl behind counter obviously didn't want to be there. Charged me for a cup of water. I feel if I pay 15 bux for a sandwich could of just gave me a water cup. Place looked ran down. Wont be back.
Looks like a family bussines. Really nice persons, and the food was delicious. My better wishes.
You can really taste the love and soul that is put into this BBQ. We had the pleasure of speaking to the owner and you can tell how much he loves what he does. He has brought this restaurant up by hand and pure passion. This restaurant needs more recognition. Will be eating here every time I pass by.
It is a small and traditional place with excellent food. I think they should just remodel the furniture and the environment a bit.
Stopped by this place for lunch today. Staff was very friendly. I got to meet the owner. He was very friendly! I ordered a few meats. Ribs were tender and just the right amount of smoke. The brisket! Fat rendered. Slightly yellowed. Just right! Absolutely recommend!
Extremely friendly and food is always good. Come here once and you’ll be a returning customer
DOWN HOME BBQ PLAIN & SIMPLE. What else can I say, beside how clean the establishment is and the most kindest staff as you’d expect in any mom & pop!
So, so good!
As soon as I opened the door of my truck in the parking lot I had a feeling I was in for a treat. It was the unmistakable aroma of meat smoked by a pitmaster who knows what they're doing!
The place is clean and feels exactly like a good Texas BBQ joint should. The service is prompt and friendly. The prices are what you should expect to pay for truly good BBQ.
I ordered a brisket and pork rib plate. The ribs were on top so I started there. The first bite told me I wasn't going to be disappointed by anything. It was abounding with the right combination of flavors from proper seasoning and skilled smoking. And then I got to the brisket.wow! The smoke ring looked beautiful, the bark was delicious, and the meat was so tender juicy. There was one slice from the lean side and one from the fattier side. The lean piece was literally juicier than some restaurants' moist brisket. It was just incredible. Picking it up on the plastic knife, it bent exactly like a slice of brisket should. The fattier side of the brisket was even a whole level better than that! The fat was rendered perfectly - this piece of beef was cooked to perfection and rested until the fat was perfectly distributed, not greasy but oh so juicy. Like, if you're thirsty this brisket has enough moisture to rehydrate you! (This may be a slight exaggeration.)
The sides were also top-notch. Too many places focus so much on their meats that the sides just become an afterthought. Not here! The Mac and cheese was hot and cheesy, made from cheese with just the right sharpness. It was creamy enough but not liquidy like some places make theirs. Just the way it should be! I also got charro beans, which not only had the great flavor you'd expect from an excellent Mexican restaurant, but also incorporated a nice spiciness - not enough to light your mouth on fire, but just the right amount to give an enjoyable kick.
I will be a frequent customer here!
I'm new to the area as far as work so when my co-workers told me not to go to this place I was a little stubborn and went anyway. The potato salad tasted like packaged and if I didn't know any better that sauce taste like Kraft. One thing I'm not a big fan of is barbecue places cutting corners. For the price I expected better.
The service was really good. The young lady who takes your order is very polite. Your food is brought to your table. Last, the food is fresh and cooked to order.
I had the two meat plate with brisket and hot links. Both of the meats are great. I also had two sides - mac n cheese and baked beans. They were both good but I feel like they probably came out of a can.
Overall they’re very friendly and the seating area is perfect. Adrian the cook (and Virgies son) came out and thanked me for stopping by.
If you’re looking for something mom n pops or even just a break away from the big bbq joints this place definitely is worth it.
Four stars only because I feel the sides were from a can.
I ordered delivery for my son and his friends yesterday. The owner was so nice and wonderful along with some of the best BBQ I have ever had! The brisket was melt in your mouth great!
I tried to order a BBQ potato and when I asked what was the difference in the small and large the lady showed me the boxes they are served in. When I asked to see the potatoes she said no and again showed me the boxes they come in. Smh. C'mon man!
