Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux - Odessa Restaurant

This place has THE WORST MANAGEMENT. So unprofessional. Rey was the manager I had to deal with. It was Friday this past weekend, 11/17/23. I just drove in from Abilene, over 2 and a half hours. I'm also pregnant. This place was the only place open late on Friday. I called them at 11 PM on Friday and they didn't close until 12 AM. The hostess/girl at the front was very sweet! She tried transferring me not once but twice to the to-go station. It rang and rang and rang until it went to a voice-mail. Never have I ever heard of a restaurant having a voice-mail for to-go orders. I was getting extremely frustrated. So I walked in and talked to the hostess. She said her manager, Rey, said he picked the phone up both times saying he didn't hear anyone on the other end of the phone, which was a blatant lie! He didn't want to take a to-go order so late he should have just said that! He wasn't wearing a uniform, a very flamboyant button up shirt while rocking a mullet, very 80's, stranger things vibe! I went back and forth with him as he was calling me a liar and refused to take responsibility. He didn't want to admit that he did not in fact answer the phone. He didn't offer any way to remedy this situation. I will never recommend this place or ever go back. The food is probably just as bad as the customer service. However, I wouldn't be able to tell you if the food was good or not because I never got a chance to place an order to-go. I hope this manager is worth y'all losing business because it looks like other patrons don't like dealing with him either!

Was only a bad experience cause I went yesterday and one of the managers was very unprofessional he didn’t even have a uniform on just a colorful shirt and boots he acts very unprofessional with some employees as well and has a nasty attitude

They wouldn’t take our to go order at 11: 00pm when they close at 12: 00am. This was Friday night. We even went to the location because they weren’t answering the phones. We were going to place the order in person, but the manager was calling us liars about calling in and them not answering the phones. Rey is the worst manager I’ve ever encountered at any restaurant in Odessa and I’ve lived here my whole life. They need customer service training.

Wow! What a great atmosphere and even better service. Our waitress, JT, exuded the very essence of customer service. Well done & see y'all soon!

Worst service possible, sat down couldn't get waited on, food order was wrong, had to go looked for silverware, never got offered for drink refill, will absolutely never return with this type of service.

JT is the best get her a raise asap and get her behind the bar! Shed make a great bartender!

Food was just ok.nothing special.cheese logs were good but she never brought the ranch dressing. Service was super bad. Never got refills. Waiter never came to the table until it was time to leave.

JT was awesome! Great suggestions and attentive to our orders and quality of food and drink. Great experience!

My wife chose Walk ons because she had been to one in San Antonio and had a good experience. We arrived around 9: 45 on Saturday night after the UTPB football game and were told the wait would be 20 minutes so we grabbed a seat at the bar and the hostess said she would get us when our table was ready. I went to check on our table at 10: 20 and she said they were cleaning the table and it would be just a couple more minutes. I went back to the bar for a few minutes and then went to check again at 10: 30 and she said our table was ready and to follow her. She led us to an area of the restaurant that obviously hadn’t been used for some time if at all that night as there were five empty booths and a half dozen empty tables. Clearly our table hadn’t been being cleaned.
Our food had all the ingredients to be good but half of it arrived at the table cold including the étouffée which is kind of hard to understand since it’s pretty much like a soup.
Three stars on service as our waitress was kind and attentive and bar tenders did a good job, front desk not so much.
My wife found the manager and let him know how disappointed she was. Not to get a discount because we had already paid. He said he would still do something about it by applying a discount and returning to our card but he never did.
Not sure how/why this place wasn’t prepared for more customers on a Saturday night when there is a home football game and the visiting team’s hotel is just down the street.

I like the food but this place in particular the people taking orders and servers are way below restaurant standard.won’t answer phone for to go orders.finally got a to go order and they didn’t even ask for payment of the to go order. I had to remind them I needed to pay.no dipping sauce for boudin balls or condiments I asked for.management needs to train these people better…

Service is by far the worst, we waited 20m after ordering a a beer, for it to be delivered to the table, 45m for appetizers to be delivered, only an average crowd!

JT was great and bubbly. Alligator was great. Thanks for recommending the combo on the Alfredo and suggesting a slice of garlic bread to top off the meal!

Jt Was literally the best server I’ve ever had. She had amazing hair and smelled great. She was quick and efficient. All my drinks came on time and the fried mozzarella were great. Will definitely come back and sit with Jt!

Jt was such a great server. She was kind and got my order out quickly. We ended up having a great night thanks to the walk ons team! 10/10 would recommend.

It took a long time to get drinks from bar. Several items out of stock on the menu. Waitress not very personable.
Men’s restroom was NASTY!
Lots of improvements needed.

JT was phenomenal. Really made my experience at walk ons one to remember. On top of everything even while extremely busy.

Couple of complaints.our table was wobbly.gumbo was luke warm.crawfish cream pasta lacked flavor.but the cheese logs were delicious.
