Absolutely wonderful stay on the river. Playground for children, far enough from the river so parents can relax. Super river access. Great birding in the fall.

We kayaked their beautiful piece of river. It's a bit short but quite lovely. Did not stay the night. Very friendly and accommodating

A national treasure.well ok a Central Texas treasure. The world would be a better place if more people stayed here. Definitely a great place to "chill" in summer heat. Ignore nay sayers.

My family has been vacationing at Waltonia since the 1940’s. It has a special place in my heart and many childhood memories were formed here. The place has been through many changes but these recent changes made by Mandi and Neal Secor are the most promising.

The cabins are sooo much nicer than in recent past. The updated furniture and kitchen equipment were much needed. The grounds look much better kept as well.

Our brief weekend stay in Cabin 3 was perfect. We were there to float on the river and relax and the simple rustic cabin was just enough to keep us comfortable and have a good nights sleep. The bed was nice and a brand new AC unit kept us cool in the hot Texas summer.

I miss all the animals that have roamed the property for years (goats, donkeys, and peacocks) but I understand in these times it is hard to keep up with them.

Overall very impressed with the changes to Waltonia. It’s kept the cool Hill Country vibe and stayed mostly modern. Nicely done Mandi and Neal

We stayed in the oldest cabin. It was rustic, funky and perfectly comfortable. We enjoyed the collection of watercolor paintings that covered the walls and ceiling. It’s not for everyone, but it was perfect for us. The rest of our group stayed in newer cabins. Everyone enjoyed the river and chill atmosphere. This place is authentic. Great owners!

I've been coming to Waltonia every summer since 2006, and my wife's family since the 50s. I love this special place and no matter what other fun travels we have each year, Waltonia is a must. We always love spending a summer week here and hanging out with other families who are also here every summer.

The cabins are as TX Hill Country as it gets. Rustic and charming but comfortable and cool in the summer time. We love that the cabins form a horseshoe around the center activities area where families play all day and into the night. Not only is it fun, but we catch up on rest while the kids wear themselves out because we don't have to hover over them the entire time. They make friends and all the families can keep an eye on everything from the cabin front porches while relaxing or grilling. My kids always make new friends, love the playscapes and activities, and adore all the chickens, donkeys, deer, birds, etc.

Ofcourse, there's the river. I can't imagine a better spot on the Guadalupe River. There's a super nice landing to enjoy a deeper part of the river. It's beautiful and an awesome spot for swimming.

I will note that some older reviews on Waltonia didn't care for how rustic and outdated the cabins were. While we've never had any issues with that aspect and always found it charming here, they have done an amazing job at upgrading everything here. New playscapes and water activities, new beds, furniture, kitchen appliances and utensils, etc. I cannot recommend this place enough!
