This company is unethical. We purchased around 130 sweet olive hedges after a nursery staff convinced us they are evergreen and grow multiple feet per year. The hedges grow inches per year and lose most their leaves during winter. After spending over $10,000 (not including installation), we had to remove the hedges and replace them with holly trees, which was our original intent. We repotted the sweet olives, nursed them back to good health, and asked the owner if he would accept them back (to resell) and provide us a store credit at 50% the original cost. I was trying to be reasonable given all of our efforts to plant, remove, and replant a large amount of hedges. The owners response: “sounds like you got a bad deal”. Shame on this owner. His company and business practice is a bad deal.

Another interesting detail regarding one of our more recent visits. The owner approached us, recognized we were a large purchaser of sweet olives, and proceeded to complain about his sweet olives losing their leaves in the winter.

In conclusion, this company employs people who misrepresent their products. The manager’s response didn’t address the issue of false advertisement. How can you say you take pride in being an host business when you mislead customers on the products you sell.

This company had terrible service. We paid them $250 to come look at our yard. It took weeks to get someone out here and he was 2 hrs late. We had a lot of freeze damage to our landscaping and asked for a plan and a price quote. I was very specific with Angelo who came out as to what we wanted to do. He said give him a few days and he would get something to us. We called them after one month when we had not heard from them again. We finally called Mr Walton. He said he would have Angelo contact us and said he had not been able to because he didn’t have our email address. I’m pretty sure he did but he for sure had my phone number as he called me several times to verify that I would be here when he came out to look at the yard. A week or so later we received a drawing with none of the plantings identified as to what they were suggesting be planted and was nothing like what we had discussed we wanted when he was out here. No costs given for anything. My husband called them twice more but we never heard from them again. We hired another landscaping company who were prompt, listened and provided a plan of exactly what we wanted at a very reasonable cost, thousands of dollars less than what Angelo told me at the beginning it would probably take to do what we wanted. They did the work promptly, did an excellent job and everything is healthy, growing well and we are very happy with what they did. My advice is skip Waltons if you are looking for a landscaping company.
5/30/2023 They did refund the $250 initial payment after we posted this review.

Paid $250.00 for a rep to tell me what I needed to plant where we lost plants to the freeze. Rep did a sketch of my yard. My 12 year old grade son cloud have done the same. Never recommend any plants or price. Owner would not return my calls to inquire about my displeasure. I’m done with Waltons.

This nursery is a beautiful oasis in Dallas. Now that I live in a condo, I can only garden in pots. But Walton’s offers classes that are wonderful and bring a condo owner back to the earth. Took a succulent class and made a heart wreath for Valentine’s Day. So fun. They are generous with their plant material. Consider taking classes if u need an outlet to bringing house or patio plants into your life!
