We Are Blood - South Austin Donor Center

I have always had good experiences with this location. Intake is quick and easy and everyone from the receptionists to the phlebotomists are always polite and helpful. I donate blood regularly and even when I can't donate due to my hemoglobin being too low, I always feel appreciated for coming in and trying. The lobby is always clean, there is a good variety of snacks and drinks to choose from after your donation and the phlebotomists do their best to make sure you are comfortable. They even have monthly "prizes" they give away for coming in to donate such as free movie tickets or vouchers for free food. I like that they send out the reminders when you are eligible to donate again and I really appreciate when they send notifications when there is a shortage of blood for your blood type. Just another way they make me feel like I am truly helping out my community.

Everything was very good except for the nurse who put the needle in and inserted it wrong and used his cell phone with gloves on and treated me like that.

The person doing my intake was friendly and efficient and I even got a voucher for Alamo Drafthouse. When I told the phlebotomist that I was starting to feel faint, he jumped into action and did all of the things: elevated my feet, got me icepacks, started fanning me, and got me orange juice and snacks. I felt very taken care of. I think that I'll start with all of these safety nets next time. I definitely recommend donating here!

I had a great experience donating blood at this location. The place is super clean and fresh smelling, no offensive or strong chemical odors. The staff was very cordial and professional. The screening process and registration was not too lengthy at all. I'm happy that I was able to donate blood that will help someone else. I appreciate the ease of the process here, and the caring nature of the staff.
