As a student who went there for 2 years it was quite odd and unorganized ; Poor cleanliness and chaotic teachers.

Wonderful, caring teachers that take time to find the best way to teach your child. My son would not have succeeded academically and socially without them. My son couldn't read in public school for 2 years, even with special services. After a few months at this school, he was able to read and spell.

Our time spent at Wedgwood Academy has been the highlight of our child's learning experience. The caring and nurturing along side the educational experience were the best. Thank you, WA, for making our education years the very best.

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I wanted to take a minute to talk about Wedgewood academy and it's teachers. My daughter has been going here since she was in elementary school I believe grade 3, she is now a senior graduating two years early. I'll wait for the applause lol, ok the first thing we all think about or should think about is the safety of our children. I will tell you that the minute your child step in the doorway they are safe 100% that was my biggest concern, second what are they teaching, how are they teaching? Third, progress, they pushed my daughter to her fullest and so did I because I didn't see an autistic kid, I saw my daughter. And now look, because of myself, her amazing teachers and her awesome principle she is graduating two years early. ️ sure there are other places to go but I promise you none will be like this place, they actually love the students, care for the students as if they are there own. Thank you so much for everything you have done for my daughter katlyn

I attended Wedgwood Academy for 8 years of my life. It was the very first school I had ever attended. I was a very shy kid who struggled academically in reading and math. I was welcomed on my very first day by all the teachers. The teachers were amazing and gave me the one-on-one experience I needed. They were willing to not only teach me in the classroom, but after school as well. Wedgwood Academy believed in me and never gave up on me. Because of Wedgwood Academy I have friendships that will last a lifetime. But most importantly, Wedgwood believed in me and because of Wedgwood I am a different person and a successful adult. Wedgwood will forever be a part of my family and will always be in my heart. Thank you for believing in me.

This is an AMAZING school with an Amazing staff and that is something not always found everywhere. We have been part of the Wedgwood Academy family for 5 years and neither of my twin boys want to leave the school.they plan to stay until they are done. After trying many public and private schools in the metroplex, I can say this school is worth every penny. I have seen both my children blossom academically and socially. They love the staff and their peers, feel safe and enjoy their learning experiences. There's always communication between teachers and parents and most importantly, with the director. You want a place that is going to teach, challenge and focus on your child's needs? Wedgwood Academy is the place. Wedgwood Academy staff sees the potential in our kids and works with them indivdually while at the same time in groups to help them succeed. My children have learned socialization, confidence, safety, life skills as well as academics with the encouragement and hard work of the staff and for that I am forever grateful.

My middle schooler has regained their confidence while attending Wedgwood Academy. They are flexible and attentive to students' needs.

We absolutely LOVE Wedgewood Academy! Our child has never been in better hands. We researched the school for 3 years and met random people who suggested Wedgewood Academy. They said the director, Rachel, did amazing things with the students. So far, from what we have seen, the school curriculum is where it should be. They also base the curriculum on individual needs (i.e. If the child is excelling, they advance their curriculum. If the child needs more support, they get it to help them excel). There are many children and their parents we have met in the last year who love Rachel, the teachers, and the school. There is not one person in that school that speaks in a negative manner about the school or staff. This school has been around for almost 30 years and I hope it continues for many more!
There are bogus and slanderous claims being thrown out and are 100% false. I just read a review about CPS claims on here. Since I am in law enforcement, I have checked on these claims with the appropriate authorities. These claims are absolutely false and ridiculous. I guess it seems that someone is on here recruiting negative reviews to support their false cause. That is a shame and they are bad mouthing a very good school for no legitimate reason.
Wedgewood is an amazing school and my child will stay there until graduation. I could not ask for a better school!

Wedgwood Academy is a God send. My son was homeschooled for six years. He was nervous about going to a building to learn with other students. The teachers were very supportive in helping him to overcome his fear. He has meet children with the same diagnoses. In which, let him see he isn't alone. The atmosphere is like a family. Mrs. Wittich and staff work very hard to educate each child. I appreciate all they do!
The curriculum is on an individual level. In which, helps if your child is advanced. They also, have an opportunity to take college courses along with their regular classes. My son will continue to thrive in this school.

My Granddaughter loves this School. Public schools didn't work for her. She has improved so much.

My son has been attending WA for several years and it has been a blessing for all of us. When my son was in public school, I would get calls several times a week about his behavior because the school was not able to provide the one-on-one help he needed
The low student-to-teacher ratio at WA is just what he needed to succeed.
He's had several WA teachers throughout the years and they, and Principal Wittich, all hold a special place in my heart. They all treated my son with respect and courtesy. My son has never complained about any of them and, believe me, he would if there had been any issues!
I recommend WA to all my friends whose children are struggling in the traditional public school setting. I truly believe that my son would not be where he is today without their support.
Go Bulldogs!

They teachers mock the students they are teaching. Very poor experience. The “fees” are a rip off when all the books are used and the supplies come from the Dollar Tree.

Wedgwood Academy is a supportive school that provides the flexibility for students to thrive. My child has grown exponentially during their time at the Academy both academically and socially. I am so grateful for the support and understanding of all the staff members.

This school has saved my sons education experience and therefore his future. He was not learning well in public school but has flourished at WA. My only regret is not moving him sooner.

Parents do your homework before considering this school. Student teacher ratio 12: 1 not 6: 1
CPS complaints have been filed for neglect and abuse and somehow no one is believing our children and parents.

This is my experience with this school: School curriculum has little rigor. Students may actually be behind if they return to public school. Very few certified teachers that have the skill set required to actually teach a student challenged with learning differences. Witnessed actions that has led me to question ethics. Phone calls are not returned and inquiries are ignored.

I love this school, the teachers, the director and all the families that attend. Everyone is so gracious and it feels like one big family. My son who is now 11, started going there at the beginning of his 2nd semester after being in public school and was failing almost everything and not getting along with his classmates. By the end of that last semester at Wedgwood he was a different kid, passing everything and making lots of friends. If you or someone you know that has kids who have a difficult time in public school, should check this place out.
