We purchased a Subaru from West Houston a few months ago and have been very happy with the entire process. John V was our salesman and he treated us very well and made the entire process easy. Some places lay the pressure on you and try to take advantage, West Houston Subaru does not.

The advisors were always very friendly, but the receptionist was very rude and unprofessional. Last time I took a rental car to go home (which was free) while leaving my car there for service. A few days later the deposit for the rental was charged to my credit card. I called to ask when the deposit would be refunded to me, the receptionist did not answer the question and hung up the phone. Then I call three times more, once she recognized my voice and the question, she hung up immediately. I was shocked by such behavior! It destroyed instantly all my previous good feeling of this dealership.

We bought our second Forester here and have been keeping it in great working order by attending to regular maintenance. This dealership's employees are friendly and very helpful. Our sales person, Simon Seruya is a gem. I had a 3 ½ hour wait today for regular maintenance plus a recall repair, which I hadn't planned for. So he graciously took me to a market at lunch time so I could buy a take out. The entire atmosphere at this dealership is positive and supportive, and of course Subarus are wonderful!

This is the best experience I've ever had! This is how car buying should be. This was probably the 4th or 5th dealership I'd been to during my car search. All the other dealerships put a lot of pressure on me and made the experience uncomfortable and stressful. Not here! I worked with Sam Kraim, and he was so very nice! He never put any pressure on me and made sure I liked the car. When it came time to talk numbers, there weren't any hidden fees. It was simply the list price, tax, title, license. Nothing extra like Document Fee or Dealership Fee like so many other places. They got me financing with a low interest rate. They explained everything clearly and made sure I felt comfortable. I feel grateful that I found this place and I'm very happy with my car!

If I could give zero stars I would. Took our 2011 Subaru Legacy family car there on a Friday at 9am (had an 11am appointment time) for an issue with the emergency brake sensor malfunctioning. At 1: 45pm we called and asked about the status of our vehicle. A woman named Karla said it hadn’t been looked at. As we dug in further to the conversation she THEN changed her story saying they did look at it, but could not repeat the problem. We told her that since they could not duplicate the problem to then go ahead and just do an inspection. We called again about 3pm asking about the status. To some miracle, Karla said they DID duplicate the problem and quoted us the part plus labor (which is fine, that’s why we brought it there in the first place). HOWEVER, she then went on to say the car had failed inspection because the brake pads were too thin. My husband has been a certified state inspection mechanic a few years ago, which the state inspection legally can not fail you because of how thin your brake pads are. The state inspection says the car must stop within a certain number of feet once the brake has been applied, NOT based on how thin your brake pads are. The point here is that these people do their level best to jerk their customers around. Karla also was less that pleasant to deal with, cutting us off at almost every sentence, on top of changing her story multiple times. When we asked to speak with the service manager several different times, she came up with a different excuse every time as to why we couldn’t speak to him. Save yourself some time and money and take your car elsewhere.

I wish I could give a 0 star, the manager at the Part department was arrogant, I showed him the part number I wanted, he brought the wrong one and insist he was right. He then refused to honor the price showed on his own website, what a shame! He does not care if they lost any customers. I will never buy any thing from this dealership, and I will never buy any Subaru.

05/03/2019 UPDATE: I saw the general manager's response. He is still trying to find excuse! This is exact another example of how they do not care about their customers. If that is the case, let me finish what happened later in my case.

After I was forced to buy a wrong part (which I believed they were right, like what he said that they looked in the what "factory" shows to them. Since it is oil plug gasket, I could not bring the old one to compare with the one they sold me. When I was back home, I took off the oil plug and the gasket from my car, and found that it is a totally different size. The one they insisted to be the right part was completely wrong, they DID NOT check the manufacture book, they just arrogantly thought they are right. Then I had a situation which my engine oil has been emptied, but without the plug gasket, I could not add the new oil in. So technically I do not have car to drive back and change the part. I had to take an Uber which cost me 30 dollars to get there and told them they gave me a wrong part. The manager at the dealer ship DID NOT even say a single sorry!

Anyway, I do not want to talk any more about my experience at the dealer ship. Basically there are people at the dealership that do not care about the customer, do not care about how their bad altitude having caused their customer trouble. All they can do is to find excuse, which is the same as what the GM replied me.

Great customer service. Walked in with quote in hand and left 2hrs later with the car I wanted. The process was fast and everything went as expected. Best car buying experience so far out of 3 vehicles.

Went in with a customized build in mind for a family vehicle and got everything we wanted with the car in our driveway the next day. The whole process was easier then I expected. Vince Ramacca gave my family an excellent and fast car buying experience.

I've worked with Karla Thurman for the last 5 years. Prime example of the expert service. Just the other day I took my car into the center for a problem and she pull a Tech over to take a look at the car. They took care of the problem right away and wash the car. This type of service makes it hard on other center. West side service is the reason I now have 3 Subaru in my family. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

Exactly the same experience with Karla. Avoid her being your service rep.

Now, dealing with another rep. I’ve made an appointment for technical issue on Tue 7am, showed up on time. 9am - nobody approached me to update on the status. Went and asked myself and was told that the service manager is going to drive the vehicle himself. Q: What’s the point having 7am time slot available for appointment and then screwing around with little or no progress?

The experience of buying my car from this dealership was a pleasurable experience. Price quoted online to us was honored and there was no run around on any of the price issues once we met in person. Ryan Nguyen was our contact at the dealership and handled our car purchase experience professionally and always was very pleasant in our interactions. He was always available to answer all of our questions. Looking forward to many years in my new Subaru Crosstrek!

Absolutely love the place! Leasing a car here was the best experience I ever had. Associate was pleasant, accommodating, knowledgeable and genuine. No back-and-forth arguments. I saw an add, presented it, and got the deal. That is it! They included free window tint as well. Also, maintaining car is a breeze. I get email prompts, schedule a service, and all is done on time! Love it.
