Western Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation, Temple TX

If I could give zero stars I would. My brother is a resident there. Many times I have came in and found him to be full of dried on feces. He has been hospitalized for a bloody diaper rash from this facility. The admin throws temper tantrums and stalks out of care plan meetings. He has dementia and today they deserted him at a doctors appt and gave a bad number to be reached when my brother was through. The hospital had to call me to pick him up. The social worker said she would research if they were allowed to leave a demented patient alone. The administrator has refused to give me the owners number or number for corporate. Never do they take responsibility for their screw ups. I have many pictures and documentation but the administration has zero compassion. This place is a disgrace

This is the second nursing home my mother has been in. I see a big difference between the two. Western Hills has a more caring staff that treats my mother with respect. She is checked on more often. The staff keeps me better informed. They also have better activities for the residents. I am very pleased with Western Hills. My mother is happy there. The nurses, aides, social worker, administrator and receptionist are all wonderful. If it weren’t for the difficulty I’ve had with one specific office I would have given them 5 stars.

My boyfriend was there they treated him good but they had to send him to hospital when he came back his bed was broke so he had to lay in a broken bed until he was moved the only good thing was Micheal the physical therapist he was so wonderful to us gave me all kinds os advice so Thank you Michael

The worst place I've ever seen. My mom arrived from the hospital on Friday evening before the 4th of July for rehab. She arrived after dinner and they would not feed her. They gave her a little juice and a small cookie, she did not get her meds for the night either.
Her room mate's family come in and had their 2 dogs in the room.
When I returned the following morning, I found out that they wouldn't let her out of bed. She wad told she would have to get a diaper on and deficate on her self until Tuesday when the physical therapist could evaluate her. She had been doing pt at the hospital to having to lay in a bed for 4 days before she could even get out bed to walk or go to the bathroom. I had to call an ambulance to take her back to the hospital.
Also the front door is locked nights, weekends and holidays, which is good but when you're visiting you have to ring the bell for 20 min or more before someone will come to let you in. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PLACE

I love this place. I have lived here around 12 years. The staff and Management team are the best. Very kind and caring.

One of the best places I've ever worked at. You right at home and comfortable. It like one big family.

This is a facility that wile assist in rehabilitation and the other half is a nursing facility. Have a wonderful friend and family member that is here in the nursing facility. The visitations that I've have been here to see him (lots) is very, very good. The staff has given and still giving all the needs, love that he could receive. He is very comfortable and content. Pictures that I've taken are from the outside only, this is for the respect for those that are here. For me, all the staff here are like angels. Their daily work comes from their hearts. This is very visible from all that come here to visit.

This place is by far the worst! My grandpa is 90 and was sent here for rehab after his heart attack. His cardiologist said that he would need to heal before he could work on his heart. Nobody helped him eat (he has numbness in hands so he can't feed himself) he was pale and short of breath. He told us that he was better off dead! We told the people at this facility that he needed to go back to the hospital. They put him on oxygen and refused to get an ambulance so we called Scott and White and they got an ambulance to come and get him. I won't be recommending this place to anyone!

I am grateful for the Caraday Healthcare Western Hills staff. Literally from day one, they have been understanding, caring, and emotionally supportive of my family and me. As my mother’s needs increase, Nicky and her staff make sure that she is comfortable and well taken care of. I appreciate the effort Nicky puts into making sure that our family stays connected with my mother during these unprecedented times. I have been through a tiring experience over the years to find the right place for my mother. Caraday Healthcare Western Hills has allowed me to rest easy, knowing that my mother is cared for by a staff who genuinely cares about their residents.

I have such an appreciation for Western Hills Nursing Home and its staff. They treat their residents with such care and concern. I’m grateful that my Mom was able to get in after being in other places where she had been abused in a substandard facility. At the time it was all we could afford.

Thank you Western Hills and staff for giving our Mother quality care at an affordable price. Our family is blessed to have found you!

Probably the worst place I’ve ever worked. I loved the residents but my boss in housekeeping was very rude to me ALL the time. She was always losing residents clothes then try to make it seem like the residents were crazy or she’d blame it on us. Very poor housekeeping management. I quit because the constant favoritism & the fact that she cut my hours because I didn’t come in when she called me on my days off. That’s her job! She wouldn’t get rid of the people that called in 2x a week. VERY unprofessional! They need a new House Keeping Manager.

I am so surprised and at the same time put up by this facility. My mom had dementia - they said no problem they use the tracker to make sure they do not get out of the facility. At the end of the hall is the only door that's not locked down. Needless to say, 1st night mom got out 8 or 9 times going toward the street. The next morning early I was called and advised mom had to be removed and be placed in a lock down facility. We went up and checked mom out early and checked her into the Regency across the street. Mind you mom was in less than a day. We we checked her in we took her meds to them when we checked her out we received the tub and meds back to take to the Regency. Now I'm getting a bill for $292 for meds they had ordered - however mom did not receive. When I called them Katie said she would check with the Director of Nurses and get it taken care of. I didn't hear back- called again yesterday and Katie said she would send another email to the Director of nurses. I dont know if they have the meds to someone else, disposed of them, send them back or what. The pharmacy is also waiting to hear from them. Communication on their side is terrible. If your loved one is a flight risk - this is not a place for them, They are great talk however not so hot on action. Mom was in for less than a day - Katie called after mom was out a week asking for the payment for a day - it was paid. They are quick for money - disappointing in other catagories. Maybe they will get the med thing worked out - I have problems paying for what I didn't receive.
