Westwood Inn, Gonzales TX

No AC/Heat the room was not clean, it had dead bugs and trash on the floor. It smelled so bad, they didn’t speak English very well & took me to about 8 rooms that were filthy and even some filled with cleaning equipment. The room would not open, I had to use the mater key, then the room wouldn’t lock, nor close right with the carpet stuck, it was a nightmare. Save your time and your money.
A disaster

I just got here today and staying here until Sunday. And the room is so disgusting. There are so many flies here and roaches. They’re holes in the couch. There is mole on the night stand. I called to get another room when I told them there were so many flies and roaches here and they said they have nothing else available they didn’t even bother to come do something about the flies or roaches. I don’t not recommend staying it! It’s cheap for a reason

The room was decent and reasonably comfortable for the price, but the place seemed short staffed as it took a long time for me to get checked in and to check out.

When I first arrived at the hotel I could not go into the lobby because the people living on the property said the door was broke. Checked in on a side window and said that they did not have keys and would have to let us in and out of the room. The staff was a family that looked to be living in the front with 3 broken down cars and no way to get in front of the building. No breakfast, bed bugs, no key to room and room was very bad maintained.

Traveled to Float Fest 2022. The entire excellent! And what made me it best was the service we received at our stay here. Manager April and her staff were the very accommodating. Even when we lost our key in the river and couldn't get in until early early morning. April was on call and helped out. If I could give them 10 Star I would. Very comfortable spot, easy check in and great location to the festival. This will be our go to spot for next year's festival.

How to describe Westwood Inn: unorganized, poor management, unsafe, falsely advertised, dirty, and gross. The property appears to be family own, and they have no clue what they are doing. The rooms come under supplied with the basic items: no towels, one bed had no comforter, no iron, no trash cans at all, no tv remote, no coffee marker (but we had coffee pods), the room door was unable to lock properly, and no free breakfast. We stayed in Room 112. We contacted them shortly after checking in about the front door being unable to lock. When you close the door, the latch doesn’t catch and the door can be easily opened. They showed us that you have to lift the door to make it latch, but the dead bolt doesn’t work at all. They proceed to show us the inside metal safety latch and assured us that we were safe because they have security cameras and make rounds. I never saw any security cameras or them walking the property. Regardless, no hotel/motel room should not give you troubles with being able to be closed and be secured. This is an easy thing that can be fixed with some maintenance. The place is in serious need of basic maintenance and a deep clean. The mattresses were stained with only god knows what. The linens were also stain, thin, and low quality. The carpet was dirty and the bathroom wasn’t clean on arrival. The room smelt of urine and ammonia at times. The restroom smelt like old smoke and weed. We requested towels the next morning and were given two towels for four people, lucky we brought our own towels to use. The bathroom toilet roll holder was missing and the toilet paper was sitting on the counter. We went to get the free breakfast they advertise in their hotel listing and photos, but the doors were locked to the lobby and no one was there. No breakfast area was set up. There is no daily room house keeping like advertised- which is fine because I won’t trust them in the room any how. Avoid this place if you can. It has a ton of potential but really needs some time, money, and work put into this place to make it a “hotel/motel”.

Would NOT recommend at all! Staff is hiding somewhere in side rooms, front desk is unoccupied and if you get lucky to finally find someone you'll be greeted with attitude. My rooms kitchenette was stickerbombed, the window (although replaced) must've been busted out because no one bothered taking the old shards out of the frame. The door frame to the bathroom was apparently still under construction as the spray foam insulation was very much visible and random screws and nails were still sticking out of the wall. This place also advertises free Wi-Fi and free breakfast - neither are available! You won't even get a cup of coffee in this place as there's no such thing as a coffee maker in the room or on the (locked ip) lobby. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

This is the ONLY hotel in the town with full size refrigerator, microwave and kitchenette.
Loved those options Vs pool or fitness center which I rarely use. Nice location, clean rooms, great staff. And still less expensive then others. Maybe they can afford to give low rates coz no franchise commissions. Worth every penny.u won’t ever go wrong on this one.

It was the only hotel we could find around San Antonio area after nearly 60 attempts to book at other hotels. I regret coming on spring break unprepared so I give it two stars cause we were able to stay here for the night but disgusted at the bed sheets. Seems like they only flip the sheets over instead of changing them. All my fault but just a heads up for others.

I don't usually do reviews but for this one I had to, the room was not properly cleaned the beds were filthy and the bathroom floor had stains.wouldn't recommend at all.plus thin walls you could honestly hear everything

The stay we had at the west wood inn was nothing but excellent. Everything from management to the room and stay was perfect. Can’t wait to come back down to matagorda and hang out with our friends at the Westwood. Only place I’d recommend if you’re looking for a quality stay!

Great place! My wife and I said there a month ago. Loved the room! Booked 2 more nughts with them this month. Asked for the same room as last time and he reserved it for us! Definitely worth the price!

Awful. Showed up and asked to see the room after reading numerous negative reviews. The owner was rude, but agreed. No cars in the parking lot, trash bags full in the parking lot and cats everywhere. Immediately after pulling back the covers on the bed.there were chips. Large crumbs. I told him I would cancel, booking offered free cancelling and he started arguing with me! Telling me he would charge my card anyways. Don't even try it. Awful place.

The price was great. Located in the country so it felt safe. Room had a stove, microwave, and fridge. I checked in at 1am in the morning and called for blankets for the fold out and phone was answered immediately and blankets were brought within 5 mins of my call. Great service for the price. The bad, room could have been a little cleaner, no body soap just shampoo and conditioner packets. Very little toilet paper and no spare roll. Perfect room if your just passing through and do not want to spend a lot of bucks.

Shower tubs are slippery hurt myself today was going to work in town tomorrow.now have to go home

Absolutely great place to stay. Rooms are huge and very clean.the night shift attendant was friendly and extremely helpful! She made sure my fiancé and I were satisfied in all aspects. Great customer service. Really looking forward to returning! Great job guys. A+
