Wonderspaces Austin reviews
14Awesome experience went with my sister a couple of days ago! But the tickets are a bit pricey.
Pro: Super cool exhibitions, I believe 12 exhibits with more coming. Some of the exhibits are interactive and some are highly intricate in design and influence.
Con:
1.not big enough or enough exhibits for the price I'm paying.
2. Lot of those Instagram girls taking pics, holding up the line and exhibits.like bro, come on.
You must buy tickets online. You must sign a waiver. Then you can make your way through the maze of art. Pretty cool for what they have. I loved the end of the exhibit where you can leave a message. I got a really sweet one and left one in return. Some of the art was really cool and others were ok.
Some of the exhibits were closed or I would have given a better rating. The whole facility seemed a bit run down like it hadn’t been taken good care of.
Fun mix of interactive experiences. Had some similar exhibits to the one in San Antonio buy Austin Wonderspace has its own set of unique exhibits.
It was really impressive, partly “interactive“ and very colorful. We really enjoyed every single piece/exhibit. As we were on a Thursday evening, it wasn’t crowded and we could take our time to just stand there in awe (or create art ourselves) and be happy.
So fun! Interactive exhibits that are also meaningful while beautiful. I did not try any drinks but they all looked delicious!
This place is expensive but worth it. The exhibits were so cool and the staff were relaxed and informative! I also loved how you can get a handmade drink while you explore.
Not a lot to offer and is very expensive. Definitely not worth it. Felt like a waste of money, not to mention my time.
Amazing exhibitions, very interactive, it seems small enough to not take several hours toget through but each exhibition is so engaging and insightful that we stayed at least 4 hours.
WONDERSPACE IS OVERRATED AND OPERATES WITHOUT INTEGRITY! This corporation is led by a group of unsympathetic people who obviously lack good moral principles and don't believe in treating their patrons fairly.
First of all, not all exhibits are open. A few exhibits were closed off, making this already meager museum truly disappointing. For the price to get in, you would assume all exhibits would be up and running. Secondly, they are SHADY as heck! We just went there, and upon entering, we were told all tickets needed to be purchased online, which my husband did while we waited in the front lobby. Our party consisted of 2 adults, 2 young teenagers, and 1 child. When my husband purchased the tickets, he thought it was asking for the age of the child, and he put down 12 because that is how old our child is and then submitted the booking. He immediately realized he accidentally purchased a total of 11 extra child admission tickets totaling over $165.00 dolars in unintended purchases. He immediately walked to the front counter and explained what had just happened, and Vanessa, who was working the counter, clearly knew it was a mistake and tried to get a supervisor out to speak with us. However, we were told that we just needed to submit an email, and they would handle it. We should have canceled our transaction through our bank right then, but instead, we trusted they would do the right thing, knowing we were only a party of 5 and not a party of 16! It's not like we were late to our booking or more than half the people didn't show up. It was a simple accident made right in front of one of the museums employees! My husband sat down and immediately wrote an email while we began to look at the very limited exhibits that were available. Before we left, we stopped by the front counter and again spoke to Vanessa and another employee and was reassured that things would be taken care of. It was odd that they could not provide us with a contact phone number or that a supervisor would not come talk with us, but we believed in good faith that they would be understanding and refund the 11 extra tickets that were accidentally purchased especially because multiple employees told us we had nothing to worry about and the issue would be fixed. Our first email response stated they did not do refunds and after a second explanation was emailed back to them they responded stating they completely understood the situation and would talk to the other partners to see how they could make it right as we do not live in or near Austin so we would not need tickets to return. We finally got a response from Julia Ottenberg, who said they would not help us, and we could only get reimbursed with admission giftcards, and again, unfortunately, these will never get used! BAD BUSINESS! Shame on you Wonderspace for taking advantage of a family that lives out of town that came to your establishment to imerse their 3 children with art. Again, we were not late, nor did we have a party of 16. It was a simple transaction error, and all this happened in front of an employee. One exhibit is called The Last Word, where you can write something down and others can read it. I WISH I could write down on one of those rolled up pieces of paper that ART is so special and those who put it on display should never take advantage of those who actually appreciate it. Wonderspace, you saddened my heart with your greed.
"Visited Wonderspace with high expectations, but the limited exhibits left the overall experience feeling lackluster. Hoping for more diverse and engaging installations in the future. Was pretty much a let down and you could see everything in about 15 minutes.
It is a super cool place to take photos and have a few drinks.and if you have children they will also have fun.
