Woods Transmission & General Repair reviews
16 Honest business
Not going to just throw parts at something till they know it’s going to fix the vehicle
After another mechanic recommended salvage, we brought a vehicle to Woods. Needed a radiator cap. Woods is consistently honest, and seems genuinely concerned about value to his customers. Highly recommended!
They are always amazing, friendly, and quick to address our repair needs. They communicate well and explain the mechanical problems so that we understand the issues and how the repair process will happen. They make drop off quick and efficient. Highly recommend.
They are very professional, moderate in pricing, Good customer service and good job on repairs. I have used them ever since I moved to Forney 6 years ago and no regrets.
I gave a review 9 mths ago, but I'm finally describing my experience. Woods is such a breath of fresh air. Honest, respectful, friendly and informative. I always call and ramble about what I think is going on with the car- I can't help it.lol, anyway, DeAnn is always the sweetest.listens to everything I have to say and has never made me feel like I was wasting her time or being annoying.which I highly appreciate. Woods took care of our vehicle and contacted our warranty company for us! (So nice) They answered all my questions and really helped me understand the issue. Woods is 100% NOT out to get your money! Thank you for being a business we can trust.
12/10 service. Dustin is what we call a “true professional” and is so intentional with his customers. Always the right diagnosis and his team always there to finish the job right. Cannot recommended him enough!
Excellent services and professional work. Is always open to help you with your car troubles. Total transparency and guarantee in their job.
Had unique situation where my truck had work performed in different state but had defiencies. Brought it here, got it corrected, billed previous shop w/o initially billing me. Awesome people, Deanna was absolutely great. More business from me to come.
Wow I can’t explain how much I love these people. From the tender voice you hear on the phone all the way to their friendly faces! I had a bulb issue and I showed up (with bare notice). They assisted me IMMEDIATELY and solved my problem extremely fast! No lines, no bad attitudes! I came with a problem and left very and highly content! I HIGHLY recommend this place for all your service needs! I promise they will not disappoint because they work with you instead of just for you. Thanks Woods you’re the best!
Impeccable service! Warm, honest down home folks. You can't beat the prices and you can count on QUALITY work. Dustin and DeAnn are the BEST!
When i first walked in, i was greeted so warmly at the front.dustin does an absolutely amazing job at problem solving.i came in very nervous because i had visited other places before and they had no idea how to fix a noise my car made.he found the problem and resolved it quickly and for a great price.dustin does exceptional work!
Everything counts including phone calls. How they answer you, what tone of voice they used and so forth. I felt like I shouldn't contact this place at all. All that I mentioned up happened to me.that's the reason behind my two stars.
I have only good things to say about Dustin, And his crew. Took my car to get my transmission swapped with a different one. During the whole experience I had complete trust, and knew my car was in good hands. Dustin, and his team got me back ready for the road at rapid speed.
I've written a review before, but I had to come back and add another. Dustin at Woods is the best! I grew up with a grandpa that owned one of the local gas stations and did general auto maintenance. There was a great small town feel as customer after customer came in to see him and shoot the breeze, many times without getting any gas or services. Dustin reminds me of this kind of place. He is willing to go way out of his way to help people. He recently checked on my son's car, decided there wasn't anything that needed repaired, and the bill was a whopping $0. I think this is a real rarity in today's world. If you live close enough (I'd drive a good distance), this is the shop I'd choose for my auto care needs. Hands down the best around!
When I moved to Texas in 2004, I had a BMW 750i. It was a great car but not very reliable. I had to fix it relatively often. Fortunately, I found Woods Transmission. Mr. Woods Senior, Craig Woods is a great guy. He kept my Beamer and later, a few other cars in great shape. Professionalism, honesty, effectiveness, courtesy, taking care of customers, and great service, all these qualifiers perfectly describe this business and its owner. A few years ago, Mr. Woods’s son – Dustin took the business over and proudly continues the great tradition, and maintains or I would say, enhances the great reputation of the shop built by his father. The most important superlative from my list of qualifiers is honesty. When I give my car to Woods Transmission, I am sure that the advice I will get will reflect the real technical requirements corresponding to the actual technical state of my car, nothing less, nothing more. I am sure I will not be advised to perform a “repair”, which my car does not need. I am also sure that the price I will get will be difficult, or even impossible to beat. Talking about Woods Transmission, it is not possible to not mention DeAnn, who has been with Woods Transmission for many years. She is professional, courteous, and cheerful. Although her main job is to take orders, generate in and out paperwork, and order and receive parts for repairs, she is also able, utilizing her long experience in this business and this place, to provide some initial time estimates and suggestions, always giving the last word to her boss – Dustin. I do not know if it is her job, but I know that when I had no other car, or possibility of getting a ride from a family member she drove me home and brough me back when the repair had been finished. I have no idea how she can do all these tasks.
Last year my son suggested that we could move to another auto shop in Forney, owned by his High School colleague’s father. Although the suggestion of going to a shop owned by a friend or acquaintance was attractive, I refused it. My experience with Woods Transmission is great. I will remain faithful to this shop. I do not need anything better.
Conclusion, if you live in Forney or any neighboring cities and if you want to find a good reliable car shop for your cars, go to Woods Transmission and General Repair. You will not be disappointed.
My brakes were screeching so loud that I was embarrassed to pull out of my driveway in the mornings. I called into the shop at 9 am on a weekday, and they told me to come in immediately and they’ll squeeze me in. I made it there, parts in hand, at 9: 30. I got a call at 12: 30 pm saying the car was ready. They were quick, did a great job and didn’t overcharge me. They quoted me the same price that a FRIEND did.
