Wylie Skatepark reviews
12It's hard to give a skatepark 5 stars. But this small park has something for everyone. Banks, transition, rails, ledges, and a wall. But while it has all of that, the most important thing is the supportive community. Really cool adult, teen and kid skaters and rollerbladers making it a perfect 5 of 5.
Harsh metal transitions at the bottom of all ramps. It does have several very nice grind rails.
It would be really nice if there was a bit bigger 1/4 pipe compared to the size of fun box. It's difficult to get enough speed to really utilize the box.
Very small skate park, I was expecting more, they put metal on the ramps to make noise when one traverses it, rendering it no fun, especially when learning.
I figure they did that so there won't be late night skateboarding.
Nice little skatepark, can't really go wrong but it is among the smallest skateparks I've ever seen. Only thing I don't like is the inconsistent bumps in the sidewalk surrounding the spot.
Good for learning, but outdated and needs refurbish
COULD USE:
. Round rails
. Better use of space (extend park to unused space)
. More parking spaces
This park is perfect for beginners and advanced skaters alike, the concrete is smooth and the ramps and rails are well maintained now that the city started paying more attention to it. I highly recommend this park for local skaters.
This skatepark is trash, preformed concrete, old style, playground company park. But it has a nice large awning for shade and a few picnic tables. The bonus though is you may see a few well known skateboarders here. The boney one is known to show up here.
I love it. It has nice banks and the rails and coping slide. On the box you can get that much speed so you can’t get air other than that it an awesome skate park
Not a good skatepark. The butterbenches are not very strong and flex when you do ledge tricks on them. I get psyched out everytime i skate them when i come here. The quarterpipes are pretty good, but very awkwardly placed.it's not easy to find lines at this park. I have no idea who decided to put a rainbow rail and pole jam into a prefab park, but i guess its cool its there, but then again, they're awkwardly placed and you can barely get speed to hit them. The ground is just so much of a weird conversation. Every time you land a trick, the ground just doesn't sound right. I don't know what type of concrete mixture they used when pouring the slab in, but it's just not satisfying. It bares semblance to parking lot slabs. The ground is also not very smooth. There are basketball courts in the area that have smoother finishes than this park.
I would not recommend this park to go to daily. Maybe go if you wanna practice 1-2 ledge or quarterpipe tricks with heavy repetition in the morning, sure go here, but its just not worth it to try and bust out a fully fledged session here.
Was riding my skateboard, when i slipped and absolutely slammed my special package onto a rail. I swear I saw stars above my head and was very woozy. I stood up and instantly projectile vomited onto a kid next to me. The kid looked horrified and scared. He then ran away and cried to his mom. I won another battle, gg ez, get clapped nerd. 5 stars.
Fun park with some cool things to hit. PLEASE add some lights! I mean, it is open 24 hours.
