My husband has been seeing him for about a month now. This is the first doctor he's seen that calls to check on him! Dr. Yeganov really does want him to feel better. Thank you!

I have been seeing Dr. Y for over 15 years. He is very understanding & caring. Yes he is blunt & tells it like it is but personally I need that in my Dr. I remember right after I started seeing him I informed him ahead of time that I was a “daddy’s girl” & when my dad was called out of this world I would not be able to function. When my dad passed in 2015 my husband called him to let him know. Dr. Y told the hubby to bring me in if he felt I needed to talk to the Dr.
Dr. Y saw me once a month every month for a year after I lost my dad. He always tells me after the last session B4 Christmas that if I need him to call.
Yes there are times that wait time is a little long BUT he takes time with his patients. Some only need 5 minutes while some need a hour. He also does rounds with his inpatients B4 he goes into the office. The ladies that he has in the front office are GREAT. They are always nice, helpful & smiling.
I wish the ratings could go higher than 5 stars because he is well worth way more.

Doesn’t return phone calls for appointments. I assume this is because of inefficient or unorganized administrative personnel, but a doctor should understand that his reputation and effectiveness begins with that initial appointment. If you’re having a very difficult time, I’d not waste your time trying to get an appointment with Dr. Yeganov. It’s unfortunate because other reviewers say he’s actually good if you can get an appointment.

I've been with Dr. Yeganov for three years now. Dr. Yeganov is obviously a very intelligent man and by far the best psychiatrist I've seen, but like many physicians will lump you into a Gaussian distribution of other patients that have had a similar experience and prescribe medication based off that. For the most part he's pretty open to changing your meds, but as with all psychiatrists I only tell him 1/8 of what's actually going on in my life/mind because I personally hate medications and psychiatrists seem to think that's the only fix - he's no exception to this. The CPU of our brain isn't discrete yet he'll tell me things like antipsychotics and SSRIs are very well understood and it's just circuity when you can find peer review paper after peer review paper that shows that's just not true. I do have issues with him telling me about other patients' response to medications based on HIS experience - that's not a scientific study, big data analysis is real and I would prefer to hear real statistics. I do like that he's blunt - I don't care about having a nice doctor, I care about having a smart one that uses analytical and quantitative thinking as opposed to just memorizing whatever version of the DSM they had in school (which by the way - buy yourself a copy of the DSM-5 so you can actually read through it yourself). I do have to argue with him almost every time I go because he's 100% sure I should be on a medication that I just don't want to take, and personally don't believe I need to take. It bothers me that markov models or sequential dynamical systems aren't taken into account when viewing patients, our brain clearly operates on an algorithm and isn't a stochastic process yet most doctors don't understand anything about AI such as neural networks and machine learning, which I would think as a psychiatrist you should understand but this is a problem I have with the entire psychiatric community. If you grill him and show him that you actually understand molecular structures, organic chemistry, electromagnetism he'll give you an informed answer and I appreciate that. He seems to be update with the most modern medications but I now see a second psychiatrist on the side that uses psychotherapy and that's something I wish Dr. Yeganov would be more open to as opposed to, "Oh, you're going to end up in a mental hospital if you don't take this. " I understand medications help many people - but they can also ruin your life and make you a blunted idiot. I am on the lowest number of meds I've ever been on thanks to him but like I said it's a constant battle with him. He will always believe he's 100% right but you as a patient need to understand what you're taking and NEVER just take the word of a doctor. We're not all just one standard deviation away from the mean. He's been pretty good at trying multiple options and I appreciate that but don't give into him just because he's harsh - if you don't want to take something DON'T take it. I appreciate that he'll answer all your questions, hence why you have to wait so long to see him. He is caring and a very interesting person and I enjoy our discussions. He is much more interdisciplinary than most doctors I've met and that gives me hope. So I suppose to sum it up - he's a good doctor, but make sure you do your homework - understand the molecular structure and organic chemistry of what you're taking, the side effects, the half life of it, long term studies of it, etc, etc. And no, taking an SSRI or antipsychotic is not as simple as, "Oh, we're just adding a little resistor here, or a capacitor here because the brain is just a circuit. " Yes of course it's all based on electromagnetism but like I said it's not discrete and sometimes he'll talk to you as if it were. His staff is very friendly. And he'll call you to check up on you if something is wrong. I'll stick with him as long as he doesn't force me to take anything I don't feel I need to take because ultimately it's my decision, not his. For the most part I've enjoyed having him as my psychiatrist.

NOT part of the Baylor network. If you're referred here by Baylor remember THEIR SYSTEMS DO NOT TALK OR COMMUNICATE AT ALL. Any medical condition, medication, note, recommendation, etc by other doctors is lost. Keep in mind. If you're referred here by other Baylor doctors, best of luck.

Dr. Yeganov and staff are absolutely amazing! They make everything very convenient and are so easy to talk to. It's nice to actually have a doctor and staff who listens. One of the many reasons I love this office is that they never seem bothered to change my medication when I don't feel quite like it is where it needs to be. They really so truly care. You will not go wrong choosing Dr. Yeganov!

I have been going to Dr. Yeganov for a few years now, and I've never felt better. He is so easy to talk to and has been so helpful. I can't imagine why anyone would leave him a review under 5 stars! He isn't the first psychiatrist I've seen, but he's definitely the one I'm sticking with. And the rest of the staff is amazing, they're so sweet and work with you on scheduling.
If you're looking for a psychiatrist, I 100% recommend Dr. Yeganov. You won't be disappointed.

I have been seeing Dr. Yeganov for OVER 10 years. He has helped me through so much - my overall combination of mental health issues, a few very bad lengthy episodes and his knowledge and experience in general have been an underlying comfort in my day to day well-being. Knowing that his support is available and welcomed at most times and when he has his soonest spare minute within reason definitely provides a mental cushion. He has never failed me, never given up on me and he is well educated and experienced in pharmaceuticals and for those reasons alone I would recommend him to every and anybody looking for mental health aiding. He is very personal and intuitive. I will continue to be his patient for as long as possible. A+

He hung up on me in a desperate situation, yelled at me, uncaring, could push a patient over the edge, as he has me. I believe if I die it will partially be his fault.
