Zookeeper Exotics reviews
23Amazing selection of multiple different exotics, plus you can't beat how nice and knowledgeable the staff is.
The place isn't as well kept as most reptile stores I've been to. Some enclosures were well designed while others lacked or had too many animals in them.
Insects were expensive.
I absolutely loved coming to this pet shop! They have amazing employees and actually knew what they were doing and talking about! Gave me awesome advice on what I should be feeding my snake and how! They also have an amazing exotic animal selection! Will definitely only be coming here from now on for my snake and geckos!
Always love visiting Zookeeper. Today we brought home this beautiful little guy. Knowledgeable and helpful staff.
I came here looking to find supplies for my tiger salamander. The staff were kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. They helped us every step of the way.
There's a sloth in this place which made me visit in first place.
They sell exotic animals like guinea pigs, snakes, birds.
You shall be greeted by an parakeet while entering and he looks so beautiful as well.
They also provide an overview of all animals while you walk through and you can feed the Guinea pigs some carrots if wanna pass time
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Lots of exotic pets to check out. All of which look very well taken care of. They helped us choose our tortoise and we couldn't be more pleased! If you're looking for a pet or help with a pet, do yourself a favor and check Zookeeper out!
Pretty cool little place. I have a very interesting selection of exotic pets and spiders all the way up to three-toed sloth (not for sure the sloth is for sale though). The prices are reasonable considering the word exotic is in the name. The people working there are days back, helpful, and knowledgeable. If you are sensitive to smells and have an easy stomach, be prepared on those hot Texas days for a bit of the funk (not the music).
This is one of the few and far between places in Austin where you can buy live feeder mice. Great selection of happy and healthy reptiles, birds, bunnies, ferrets, chinchillas, and even axolotls! Always clean, sometimes they have used tanks and snake trays for amazing prices. Don't forget to say hi to Sophia the sloth while you're there
Very kind, knowledgeable staff. They did a great job of explaining all the nuances of tarantula ownership and outfitted us with everything we needed to make our new pet happy.
Lots of interesting animals that are obviously well cared for. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and perfectly willing to indulge us every time we come to look about. Truly a wonderful shop!
These people are incredible, their knowledge of reptiles and critters is unsurpassed.
I find it refreshing that when asked advice on the feeding and care of my reptiles that they don’t take it vantage of my lack of knowledge and sell me a box full of things that really aren’t beneficial.
Instead they display true care and offer sound experience based advice that keeps my critters healthy and happy.
Really the only place in Austin worth going to for exotics such as tarantulas and snakes. All animals seem very well cared for and they have some impressive display animals. Bought my Phormictopus cancerides here to get started in the hobby and couldn't be happier!
We love going to Zoo Keepers. The staff is amazing and we love them. We got a Prairie Dog from them 5 years ago. We have gotten a snake from them which I have had for about five yrs too. They take really good care of all the animals and insects. They are very knowledgeable on what they sell. And we will continue to go to this location for all our animals needs.
I showed up right at open with questions and everyone was helpful and knowledgeable. If you have a reptile, this is the place to go. I'm a new owner and they're my new place
Cool animal collection but boarding is extremely overpriced. They told me $10/day over the phone and $20/day when I got there. It's also really dirty as far as pet stores go.
The most DISGUSTING AND POORLY RUN PET SHOP. If you actually love your animals, don’t go here and support this. They had a parrot who was neglected, terrified of people, cages are filthy, ginnea pigs kept with rabbits, and just really horrible service.
Great little pet shop. They have a sloth up front, which was cool. My 3 yr old son made friends with the guy that worked there. He went around the store with us and let him hold and pet whatever he wanted to! They also have a great supply of cages and tanks and everything that goes in them. A big variety of animals, snakes, spiders, and fish.
Love it!
Update: zookeeper has expanded and is better than ever! Purchased two sugar-gliders over 3 years ago and love going back to get supplies and look around.
You should too!
This pet shop has a super friendly and welcoming atmosphere and is filled with wonderful animals. The animals are all very healthy and kept in good conditions. (You won't be finding any fish in Tupperware containers here, thankfully.) the staff are all very kind and helpful, as well as being informed about the pets they sell. Carlos was absolutely lovely and extremely helpful when I got my ball python here. They also have a sloth as a permanent resident.
