Horizon Care Center, Arverne NY

I Norman Azeez had the opportunity of staying at this Nursing Home for the past three years. I appreciate the time I spent there. Even though there were some were misunderstanding, but they were easily solved. The Administration was good and the Asst. Administrator, Mr. Shlomo was a individual of deep concern for the Residents. I've shared good moments with each department, especially the Nursing and Nursing Aides. The Activity dep.were very caring and I would like to thank Ms Shaida and her staff for being caring and patient with almost each resident. I will miss them at Horizon Care Center, but will visit occasionally. As for my social worker Ms. Wilkie, you were exceptionally professionally helping me. I cannot express the compliments that you deserve. I'm greatfull for all you've done for me and also for all the other residents. May God's blessings be upon you continue to guide you in everything that you are doing. God's richest blessings Ms. Wilkie

I came in to horizon care center for short term rehab after getting into a car accident they are the best nursing home I ever stayed by their staff are really nice and profesional and they care for all the patients the assistant administrator is the most caring and professional kind person i ever encounter I Recommend this nursing home to anyone in need of short term or long term care

All the doctors and nurses are very nice I like it here. Thanks for taking care of my grandmother

My uncle was placed in Horizon Care Center back in November 2018 without permission because the nursing-home he was in did not have room anymore and he was a Medicaid person. I was upset and scared for him with that said I can now say I am so happy he was placed there. Unfortunately he has passed away due to the virus and I can only speak for the fourth floor nursing staff but they were excellent during his stay. They treat their residents with respect. It is hard to get someone to answer on the phone but that is because they are always working with their patients. I would come in from out of town unannounced and I would always notice a clean environment and working staff.
I can also say security is great and friendly. Mr. Mike is awesome. I also have to say that social worker Mrs. Taylor is the best person ever. She always kept my mother and I posted regularly on my uncle. Finally, when I needed the most support during my uncle’s last couple of days, their in-house doctor (Dr. Elkin) and Ms. Alyson (social worker) and the financial department were awesome. Thank you for taking care of my uncle.
