I had 3 service requests - all negative outcomes.
I agree with the other reviews. This company deserves a negative rating. Save your money.

It shouldn't take 2 and a half months and 4 different service calls to fix a dishwasher part. I never receive updates from them and the dishwasher still isn't fixed.

Shame on me i guess- this was my first time dealing with a warranty company so had no prior experience.i prepaid for one year and then after paying the $75 service calls i realized half way through what a waste of money this company really is.i cancelled with 4 months left to go and was told that i would not be getting the refund because they are keeping it due to the 10% admin fee (ok no problem) plus any costs they incurred for the service calls (huh?) hope that keeping my $180 was worth the 1 star review

Do not use this company! If I could give them a 0, I would. They send out the most sketchy companies to come fix and do repair. You have to call them and track them down to schedule. Customer service is horrible.

Seeing articles calling this company great is just sad! It’s not great. It’s a scam, god forbid you need the policy to cover something and follow through. Not at first American home warranty. They tell you they are going to fix it then ghost you. Finally the last follow up they just asked that I cancel my policy as they will not be able to keep their word “do to contractor shortage. ” Shame on you for collecting peoples premiums and not holding your end of the contract.

Purchased the extra support that covers faucets. I have a faucet leaking. They will not cover it. It is going to cost me more now to repair than if i didnt have a home warrenty because now i need to pay the 120$ service fee and find another company

I would not recommend First American as your home warranty company. They are the absolute worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. It has been almost a month and I still have no AC. AC is a necessity in AZ at this time of year and yet here I am still waiting. The contractor has been at my house 4 times and I'm on my second contractor (that they assigned both times mind you) as the first contractor was horrible! Apparently the first contractor didn't know how to diagnose the fact that my compressor no longer works. That is something they should have known period. And now, according to First American the second contractor closed my work order and did not advise them of any information. They keep telling me they have escalated the situation to the company and to the contractor relations team and that I will be contacted. I just called again and was told the exact same thing as of course no one called me back. Nothing gets resolved and I'm left at the mercy of this horrible company. My work order has been closed and I still have no AC. First they told me they haven't gotten anything from the contractor at all. The supervisor I just spoke with tonight said the contractor closed the ticket and there are no details at all. Which is absurd! I have called First American so many times I've lost count. I have requested to speak to multiple supervisors and still nothing is done. They tell me they will reach out to the contractor and get back to me and they never do. They tell you one thing and do something else entirely.

I have been waiting for over 8 weeks for our refrigerator to get fixed. This is absolutely unacceptable. A repair man came to the house and said the fridge needed to be replaced. I have been waiting in vain for First American Home Warranty to find a replacement.in the meantime I have no fridge. Unacceptable service.

They are in it with the companies that come out to file a report on the product that is not working. Had a front loader washer that broke, they said it wasn't normal wear, I had 6 bath towels in the machine which looking on the manufacturer it could handle 15. They said I overloaded it and wouldn't cover it. Please be careful of who comes to your house for the repairs.i have looked back and most have 1 or 2 stars at best. They find companies that will do what they say to keep from paying to get fixed. I can't wait until my contract ends to get rid of them.

Their service line keeps disconnecting when you request to transfer to someone, the automated set up is very technically challenged. I contacted their sales department and magically someone picks up there no problem and there only solution is to keep reporting they are having technical issues and offers to transfer you to which then hangs up.

This is the worst Warranty Company I have ever worked with. I live in Phoenix where the heat has been in the triple digits. I called them on August 25th due to my AC going out. First they assigned me to vendors who do not call back. The 2nd vendor told me he'd come out but I had to pay him the $75.00 service in cash or check or I'd have to wait until Monday and this was on Saturday the 28th. It is 98degrees in the condo. I called First American Home Warranty again. They said once again they would get another vendor and take this to the next level in claims. Well, have not heard from them or another vendor. They also told me to go buy a portable AC and they would reimburse me $150. Of coarse they didn't even come close to pay for it. And it's gone from 98 to 96. Guess, it's time to take stronger action.

Called them they decided the could not fix my hood and would give me 85$ to get some one else gave them the person's number
They never gave me the money then that person didn't show back up so I wound up fixing it myself still no refund
The calls them about my garbage disposal it smelled of smoke the repair man accused me of just wanting a new disposal it still smells of smoke so when my house burns first American can buy me a new on
Then the ice maker it three months to fix and now it either makes lots of ice or none called them back no avail last igot it working at least part time
Now today I drove 75 miles to their corport office only to be told no one works there

Unfortunately, as a Realtor, I have referred First American Home Warranty for over 3 years to clients and now see that First American Home Warranty has no business in business. They have gone down the drain. I have personally *TRIED* to use my own warranty through them and am now experiencing the "No service" customer service and fruitless warranty. Funny how they come to our brokerage offices (like Coldwell Banker Realty) and claim all the services they provide, hootin and hollerin about how great they are just to fall flat on their face. It's mind boggling how many thousands, maybe millions, of dollars they have stolen at this point. As I sit here waiting for the 3rd week in a row, trying to get a leak in my roof fixed, I am SO HAPPY that I did not give them my $75 co-pay as they have provided nothing. I'm happy to pay once I'm scheduled but that hasn't even happened - no contact from the roofers even after direct contact was sent to the roofers from my end. This is really all just a scam.

I canceled my policy and they have taken out premiums 2weeks apart. They never took care of my ac issues, they kept passing the buck.

I would give NEGATIVE stars if I could. Our A/C went out and we waited a week for a lousy 1-Star rated company service guy to show up. He was absolutely incompetent. We could NOT get anyone on the phone at First American Home Warranty (have been paying them for years), so we sent a letter. The second A/C company sent a text message that they were so busy they had turned off their phone and would get back with us when schedule permits. Seriously? ! This is Arizona and the heat in our house was well over 90 degrees. We had to call a local, reputable A/C company and they came to the rescue. Our A/C was over 20 years old and could not be repaired, so we paid out of pocket for a new unit. We are SO disappointed in First American Home Warranty and feel sick we have paid them a monthly fee for so long. Never again.

First American Home Warranty scheduled a technician to fix a grinding noise in my washer. Job was completed on May 26. On June 28 my washer is now leaking water. I have to pay another fee and call in another appliance repair person. So much for contracting with quality appliance repair companies.

I wish I would have read these reviews before signing up. This company is the worst!

They contract the lowest qualified lowest paid contractors in your city and they will rarely make it to your house in a reasonable time. Your HVAC stops working in the hottest weeks of the summer. Good luck! They won’t be there for weeks. They don’t have any ability to scale in the busy seasons. Don’t even thinking of getting your own contractor fees reimbursed even if it was verbally approved.

Their local account management staff doesn’t care and is constantly turning over. Emails are forwarded without followthrough, one person will tell you one thing, and another telling you the opposite. Any issues that come up will get passed around in emails and voicemails until you give up.

Final reason to avoid this company. One of their contractors that serviced my house appeared to be drunk or high, ended up flooded my house causing thousands of dollars in damage.

Please avoid the frustration and go with someone reputable. Better yet just build your own list of trusted local contractors.

I use to recommend First American Home Warranty but not any more. We have been without AC for 2 weeks. We live in Arizona. You can't live without AC because of heat exhaustion or stroke. They came over July 2 to diagnose the problem and said we would be back in a week. We contacted First American right away and said this is unacceptable we cannot live in these conditions. Sears came over July 8 with a compressor at 5pm. The compressor was frozen into the ac and couldn't get it out. Sears told us they would be back tomorrow. We get a message from Sear July 9 to inform us they will be out July 20 to fix our ac. ONE MONTH WITHOUT AIR CONDITION. We tried calling First American over and over July 9. They kept hanging up on us. We even got hung up by a supervisor. I am now going to file a complaint with Arizona Insurance department.

I will be contacting AZ Attorney General's Office as well as the BBB. My water heater is leaking and was approved to be replaced. FAHS sent out Anytime Plumbing. They presented a bill prior to the work saying I would be responsible for $550. Under my contract it clearly states all parts to replace the water heater are included. Anytime Plumbing wants to charge $200 for two flex water lines to attach to the water heater, $115 to reconnect the T& P line and $65 for electric adjustment (WTH is that). The $550 is in addition to the $75 service fee. Anytime Plumbing is saying these are modification to the water heater install. There is no modifications needed, it's called installation. They suggested a new turn on/off valve so maybe this is the $200; however, the one I have is fine. I will immediately be cancelling my contract with First American. Looking at Anytime Plumbing reviews, they aren't much better. They appear to up charge other customers too. I will not have Anytime Plumbing coming to my home anytime soon! Don't waste your money with First American. Their poor reviews reflect how dishonest they really are.
